After nearly a decade working on other people's projects, I'm thrilled to announce Hemis, a new layer 1 blockchain platform set to launch in January 2024.
Bitcointalk is where my blockchain career began so it only felt natural to announce our project here first.

Hi, I'll be sharing full launch details soon.

We will be launching with a private PoW phase for a few hundred blocks before switching to PoS.  We will then operate our airdrop with the goal to make sure that no one entity controls more than 50% of staking. In short, we want to make sure that the community hold more tokens than the core team otherwise the DAO and blockchain will be centralised and relatively meaningless.

We're delighted to annouce that the Hemis blockchain has been launched.

We're currently in the middle of the private PoW phase and waiting for the switch to Proof of Stake.

We’re delighted to announce that the Hemis blockchain is alive and well!

    The genesis block was mined successfully
    The premine executed according to specification and all tokens are accounted for.
    The Proof of Work mining phase completed successully.
    Block time is currently a little unstable but difficulty is adjusting and block time is stabilising according to the specification of 60 seconds.
    The P2P network is healthy, with seed nodes located in diverse locations.
    The block explorer is live https://explorer.hemis.tech/
    The blockchain is currently secured by staking with the dev fund. Any tokens generated by staking before the community have received their tokens will be added to the airdrop fund.

Token Transparency.

    The airdrop token fund can be viewed at this address. https://explorer.hemis.tech/address/HU6sfgeo1UHKtpyJtLFn8d4T9AttLd1cAe
    We estimate that the airdrop fund will increase by approximately 5,000 tokens per day as we add tokens from the private staking phase.

    The early supporter/investor fund tokens will not be distributed to their respective owners until after the community airdrop is complete. The community will get their tokens first.

A Short Delay.

The original plan was to make the wallet open source this week. However during launch we identified six minor bugs that we would like to fix before release. We now expect to release the wallet and source code in week beginning 22 January 2024.

Due to the short delay in releasing the wallet, we do not plan to announce the airdrop until week begining 22 January 2024. We wanted to reassure the community that we will give everybody plenty of notice and time to participate. When we announce the airdrop there will be at least one week notice before the airdrop actually opens. It is of crucial important that as many people as possible participate so we have no intention of leaving anybody behind. If you are in our Discord or follow us on Twitter, you will not miss out!

A total of 1.9M at launch with a max supply of 30M being reached after 10 years.  No block halvings, linear emission.

800k (plus proceeds from mining/staking during launch) for the airdrop.
800k to investors/founders who paid for the project development costs.
300k to cover year 1 development costs for the dev team.

Hi, the tokens you see in the rich list are the Airdrop fund, the founder fund and the y1 dev fund.

We are currently using the dev fund to stake the chain, until the airdrop is complete. This is why there are lots of addresses with small balances.

When the time for the Airdrop arrives, all of these tokens will be swept into 3 addresses and every token accounted for so that the community can see that coin supply is exactly as specified.

We are not quite happy with the wallet yet, with further testing required. We will announce the airdrop opening date as soon as we are happy with the wallet.  We're sorry for the delay on this, but there are a handful of issues that we need to test extremely thoroughly.

Please bare with us, attention to detail and thorough testing is key and for that reason we don't want to make the mistake of announcing and then missing another release date.


As we get close to releasing the wallet and beginning the airdrop, its time to worry about safety and security.

This community WILL be targeted by scammers.  Some will already be here.
