1. When we can make it work safely and effectively through POS than POW should be avoided. POW in unnecessary hassle to our limited resources.
2. I like limited amount of total supply. I don't believe an unlimited supply coin would be a good investment for long run. They can be a good utility coin but not an investment.
3. For any mining coin, they should be ASIC resistant as it increases decentralization.
4. I don't mind if they have an ICO or not. But I generally don't go with ICO and wait and see how the token performs.
5. If they have transparent allocations of funds, a pre-mined are generally better than a fully volunteer coin.
6. Paid developers are generally more interested. The tokens should be released with the progress in roadmap.
7. Depends on whether I'm trading or investing.

ICO is a no. I prefer token that is straight on the market and to a reputable exchange because it shows seriousness on the part of the team. ICO coins have disappointed alot of them have been proved to be scam. Also limited total supply is another valid criteria. You have tokens that have limited number doing well although it doesn't really matter much if the project has utility value.

I remember my first coin called Mrai (Raiblock) rebranded to NANO.

Without (ICO) how they distributed the coin is using the captcha system. They're a success coin with the support of community, getting listing on Binance. I love to see a coing growing like that.

I just prefer coin with good use cases even if it's limited supply or unlimited supply. So far I know that people will always have reasons to buy more and not keep selling. Or so far I can always find a good reason to buy more and use for better things on the network, then I'm in.
For example. People keep buying ETH and SOL and not looking at the unlimited supply cos they see how they are gonna keep getting more useful with time. Even if ETH fees goes too high, people still buy. Although I buy all my coins on Bitget and withdraw cos they have lesser withdrawal fees.
So, you may need to put more focus on coins with good use cases and low marketcap cos those are the coins that are gonna give you bigger profits when the bull market comes

I agree with using an exchange platform because this method has additional benefits such as we can assess where they choose which exchange to choose so that we can predict whether the coin will be good or not if it is marketed on that exchange and we can of course assess whether the exchange is good or not. have a good reputation or not. because to choose the ideal altcoin requires various kinds of research

When I think about my ideal altcoin I mostly think it should be a mix of POW  (Proof of Work) and POS  (Proof of Stake) systems and should be Decentralized.

And I also think that the altcoin should be a limited total amount like Bitcoin, so that it can be more valuable.
It is important to me that the altcoin should be fair when we talk about its mining power and also should be friendly to regular miners.

I think ICO  (Initial Coin Offerings) can be good to get money to develop the altcoin but this will need to be OK in a transparent way.
Altcoin should be created before they release to the public.This is a good way and this will show the fairness and people will buy and it will not be controlled by anyone.

And the best way is the people should be rewarded who will develop the altcoin and for their work because it encourages them to keep making it better.

Despite the fact that  Bitcoin works on Proof of Work (POW) concept, it's mining process consumes significant amount of energy Consequently, I would prefer to go with current market trend which is Proof of Stake technology. It is always prudent to follow the market trend for making successful investment decisions.Given the substantial interest from its investors due to its growth potential, my favorite crypto currency  is Solana. I started accumulating it when it bottomed out at around $9, and it has since surged to around $60. I believe it still has potential to reach new heights.

Most of these things don't matter if it is working well and the community is benefiting from it. But I prefer to stay with the new technology as it gives us more adoption with time and the world that it gives more users. BTC is something unique so I want to keep it off this list of being old technology-wise. The time of ICO has gone and there are other types of token offerings on the market so it will be better to use those instead of ICO. You will earn money in crypto if you follow the trend. Going against the trend can slow you down or cause financial loss.

I won't necessarily say ideal base on these factors but I think a good alts can be considered to include:-
*Pos makes life of a hodler Michael easier
*deflationary more or less
*Without ico but have good partnerships support
*No premine, No Asic mining
*Team reward but lock up
*Price is an important part of investment so yes I do care.

If they are like that, they will not scam you and they will use every ounce of money they get into building something decent. If they can do that then it means we are talking about something that will be profitable one way or another.

Even in a case where something like that doesn't make a profit, it is still fair and they did not stole my money, they tried their best and they wanted to succeed even more than I did as an investor, and they just failed, it wasn't meant to be. This is why those type of investments are always awesome, I think it turns the situation into something that could make it quite entertaining to see and make a profit of.

there seem to have lots of these altcoins that you are describing with higher prices down to cents.
but they are still not close to what Doge has achieved over time. from building the community to having a coin with a use case and most important of all it is listed in all markets.

if the creation of altcoins were just going to be regulated, the launching of altcoins would have stopped already because of the massive scam that is happening. anyway, it's open-source so it's their right.

I don't want to make a new altcoin and will say that it solves a problem that other projects don't. But okay, let's have it. No premining, no ICO and just typical launch in the market that won't make it look like a cash cow being the dev of it.
Obviously, I want it to be PoW so that it's going to be secured and for the miners to have another choice of altcoin to mine since there's no longer ETH. Who knows if that's the next altcoin mining craze as choice of many.

If it's ico it's already needs to be premine in order to distribute the shares. But ico can be problematic in many ways. I would rather go with private sale.

Caring about only about price would affect how i would i respond to earlier questions. But i honestly anyone who says they don't care about price is probably lying. That's nr1 reason people are investing to them in the first place. And incentives people get for keeping the chain safe needs to be worth their time.

Love the idea how ICO made before and how they make a good project out of it, so I prefer to look for those starting projects who are doing their best to get more funds and attract investors. Though raising funds today are more different and there’s a lot of private and public sales. What I also prefer is for the project that is not just about the hype but its more about how good the project is and the usage of it.

Altcoin is best on the pos network since Ethereum which is the primary source of other coins network have fully migrated to the proof of stake network and for now they are operated on Ethereum 2:0 which is most likely the primary network for most coins that are ready to drive in the market for this season,  this is what most of the projects are currently looking and working on so for sure,  it is better to choose coins that run on those network than having those off the network most especially now that the is network congestion and high fees.

This is most likely the main motive that can drive investors' perceptions and motivate them into investing in such projects which are run on the POS network since they take off all those factors.

For me, anything that will not compare to Bitcoin or not will compete with Bitcoin. That's why altcoins are now called "altcoins" because they are alternatives to Bitcoin.
So for me, originality and uniqueness are important here.
Without ICO, it is good of course and without pre-mining, no team is rewarded. And best is it is open-source, driven by the community, it's a very fair to everyone.
