Some clarification please,
Are there other different kinds of bans that are not commonly used because this one doesn't even show up on Bpip.org unlike this other user who was also banned earlier on.
I think nuked accounts also show that they have been banned on bpip.

There's no ban in modlog. As far as I know only permanent bans are announced there, so this must be a temporary ban. That's weird, considering she same user created the same topic a day earlier, and just created it again after it was removed. This account has no other use than promoting his mixer.

The official stance of the forum towards mixers has softened a bit, so perhaps those who promote them have more credit than was the case before. On the other hand, maybe the mod who handled the reports was one of those who think he needs a little more time to understand what's allowed and what's not.

Well, it's not really a controversial statement, but service presence of mixers on the forum is still not allowed. You know, think of it like the mixer using Bitcointalk as the official place for making announcements. It's obvious Theymos wants nothing to do about that, and we can't really complain about it.

Let me just put an unpopular opinion here...
Yes, there are rules and this thread was not following them, so it should be (and was indeed) deleted.
But, if all the mods were putting the same zeal and effort in moderating, like the thread that was deleted about the mixer, this forum would have been better.
There's a plethora of bad-intended threads, promoting bad services and scam projects. Keep an eye on them as well!

I thought it was more to do with allowing members to be able to mention mixer names here for discussion purposed, so long as they are not advertising the service, but bans will still happen to those who try to advertise them here just like the folks who try to advertise dark sites.

I was thinking, why don't we have word filtering removed for "dark" sites as well... at least in certain boards such as scam accusations board. This would be good to act as a warning to other users who many not know the scummy tendencies of a service/site.

Another new mixer came on the forum saying exchange without KYC but it provides mixer services.

Well, the admin thinks otherwise according to the description he made in the OP, and they had been banned here way before the mixer ban started. I was actually thinking he could soften the word filtering for them, just like he did with mixers.

Reiteration of ban on "dark" sites

Even before the mixer-restricting rules, linking to probably-illegal (i.e. "dark") sites had been banned, and this continues to be banned. Banned dark sites are centralized services which meet any of these criteria:
 1. The site openly talks about facilitating acts which would almost certainly be illegal anywhere in the US. For example, if the site says, "we will help you clean your dirty coins," then that is too close to the exact definition of money laundering, and it would make the site a banned dark site. (This example should be interpreted narrowly: the issue is with the specific language.)
 2. The site is only available as as a Tor hidden service or on another difficult-to-take-down platform, and this is obviously because it couldn't exist on the clearnet Internet. For example, if a site runs a stock eBay-clone script but has no rules and no effective way to report illegal products, and it's only available as a Tor hidden service, and it does in fact contain a ton of illegal products, then that's a banned site because if it was a clearnet site, it'd obviously be immediately taken down or forced to significantly change its policies.
 3. US authorities have taken a takedown, seizure, or sanction action against a service or the organization behind a service, in which it's alleged that the site is engaged in illegal activity. If the site later moves to a new domain, the new domain is also banned. (But if all such official acts are withdrawn, overturned, or stayed, then the service is no longer banned.)

That's just the thing. Bitcointalk has no rule against scams and "bad-intended" threads, as long as those threads don't break any of the other forum rules. If you respect Bitcointalk's unofficial list of official rules, then it's ok to scam. Just don't make two consecutive posts in quick succession while doing it. Please edit your previous scam post.

theymos has said many times that on this forum, he wants to keep as much freedom as possible. At first, I didn't like it when scams weren't moderated on this forum, especially during the era of ICOs but as I grew up, I realised that it's my responsibility to analyse what projects might be scams and what might not be scams. Over time, I saw hashocean, genesis-mining and many other projects that turned into scammers and I built knowledge. When I didn't know a thing, I wasn't using anything that looked even a little bit scammy.
Btw I remember that when advertisements were allowed on this forum, theymos was caring about the reputation of the company that wanted to advertise here. If I recall correctly, if he felt that the project was a scam, he didn't allow them to advertise on this forum, even if they outbid other companies on an advertisement auction.

Scams that are not being moderated could be interpreted in many ways to some people's ears. Still, the forum is mostly trying to let others know that it won't be responsible for any scam that takes place. This does not mean that when we spot any, we shouldn't report them to the moderators. When we see something and pretend to look away, it shows that we are also indirectly in support of such by not reporting it. Once the mods get informed, they take action.

I thought it was more to do with allowing members to be able to mention mixer names here for discussion purposed, so long as they are not advertising the service, but bans will still happen to those who try to advertise them here just like the folks who try to advertise dark sites.

Was it really because, my intuition from when the mixer cases came up and the enacted ban on their activities very much affected not having to mention their names with the goal being on dissociation from it and any form of advertising related to mixers. In a way, name calling could also serve advertising purpose because, it makes known to the public the company offering mixing service.
Hence, the position of having to discuss on it in general terms than going specific with the name tags in any position being discussed.
