i dont think the data scientists knows his science of data

first of all mining has nothing to do with amount of transactions..
asics do not even touch the transaction data.. they just hash a header whether a block has no transactions or thousands. asic power has no relevance on transaction numbers

secondly the hash does not just protect that block. but also adds extra protection to all previous blocks too. (confirmation depth)

also water cooling flows through and drains out. so its not like the asics are actually using up a swimming pool per transaction
the water loss is minimal. 99% goes back into the environment via plumbing

also even water evaporate(1%) still goes into the sky as vapour and eventually comes back as rain.. so again no waste

the better argument is
asics HEAT a swimming pool/lake/stream/river

Never thought I would see the day they blame Bitcoin for water scarcity.  What in the world is this.  HIGH water consumption of Bitcoin Transactions?  Is it because you get hot and stressed out having to spend big amounts of Bitcoin and worrying about messing it up?  Last time I spent some Bitcoin I do not remember being asked to put a bucket of water into my phone to enable the Send button.  These 'scientists' should start looking into how Transactions actually work.

Where did he do his research? How did he find the correlation? This doesn't seem very reliable since I doubt miners run their rigs in a poor area with a scarce water supply, to begin with. Is there any data on how much water consumption for mining compared to other areas in a specific time? While I support green energy or whatever it is, the reasoning seems a bit weak if the research doesn't show more than just a hypothetical scenario.

The reason why they do this is to generate some shock value, I mean that's already how they do their magazines and news articles, don't mind the truth as long as people are going to read a sensational story. To me, this kind of stuff should be answered directly by the people that are mining, we can always just ask them their electricity bills and then do the calculations there hell, if we're so bent on disproving this research, might as well ask every miner out there and do a statistics and average depending on the size of their mining operations.

What does this guy from Accerx mean by "Bitcoin transaction water consumption"? The water turns into steam and the steam drives the turbines, that produce electricity. After that, all this steam goes into the atmosphere and turns into clouds/rain. No water is wasted. Does this guy mean that some of the water gets polluted in the process and it's not suitable for drinking? AFAIK, there are water cleaning facilities(I don't remember their exact name in English) and they are capable of cleaning the water, so it can be good enough for drinking.
This is yet another piece of mindless FUD.
