My 10 Year ( and some days) Bitcointalk Anniversary

Congrats on reaching the 10-year milestone here in this forum. It seems you found Bitcoin at a very early age. Hopefully, you did not miss the advantage of investing in Bitcoin

Tbh, I feel very happy when I see the old guys basically who registered during 2010-14, and also feel they are very lucky that they heard about Bitcoin at the early stage.

It is nice to read part of your journey to Bitcoin and how you ended up at this forum. Well, it certainly was the future more than 10 years ago and here it is Bitcoin is still going strong today (albeit with a much higher price attached).

I wonder how many of those very early year (2009-2011) poker players or other gamblers used Bitcoin when it was worth below $1 and won/loss bets. Some may have held on to their winnings and made a fortune. Others could have lost something worth less than $50 at the time but now worth $millions.

The way you are making that statement invites me to ask you a question because you will be celebrating your 10 year anniversary in around 7 months time: When it was 2014, what did you think would happen to Bitcoin, crypto and to this forum in 10 years time?

I had no expectations of bitcoin when I first came the the forum. I played alot of poker on what was then called seals with clubs now known just as SwC. I heard about the forum and how bitcoin was more than something we could gamble with on poker, so I made an account. Bitcoin then started to change my life.

Now, I feel like bitcoin is here to stay. The future as we have heard it called over the years.

First of all, I would like to say CONGRATULATIONS to @hopenotlate for his achievements during his 10 years with this forum. Tbh I am someone who entered this forum when the price of Bitcoin was around $3,000 which is a price where not everyone can afford it. So I'm always amazed at the great people who come into this forum so early on.
And your regrets when Bitcoin reaches $1,000 are people's regrets when Bitcoin reaches $5,000, $10,000 and so on.

Life on a forum is not about how long we can stay and be active as users – but about how much we can give to the forum and other users. Contribution is much more important than total login time or how many years we can be on the forum - but loyalty to stay longer on the forum is certainly an unusual achievement for most users. 10 years is not a short time in this case - but this is not something that is surprising, especially since this forum has become a common place to talk about something about an industry that continues to develop from day to day.

@hopenotlate - congratulations on that, most of us haven't had 10 years as active users yet, but we're on our way.

Wow, I really think this is the second time I am seeing a Bitcointalk user celebrating his or her 10 years on Bitcointalk, it is good to celebrate with an elders on the forum, as I am still a beginner on Bitcointalk that still have a very long way to go.

Wow, 2013 that's like amongst the early adopters of Bitcoin. I really envy you mate. Wish I knew about Bitcoin much earlier. However, spending time on this bitcoin talk forum is never a waste of time, rather the more time one spends on this forum the more knowledge one gains.
