What happened:: User Wallets Guard posts topics regarding protecting your crypto assets all while sharing a fake (possibly phishing) site.

The shared fake site is https://walletsguard.com/ while the official and correct one is https://www.walletguard.app/
Both sites point to an official X (formerly Twitter) account: https://twitter.com/wallet_guard wherein on its bio, the official site link is https://www.walletguard.app/

Furthermore, when I asked on their official discord channel, the team members confirmed it was a fake website.

Oh nice catch julerz12! I checked this thread but didn't researched deeply as I rarely visit altcoins section. Honestly I had assumed this scammer as a real team person of Safeguard wallet.

I already installed real extension before the creation of scammer thread. It is very dangerous attempt as no one has pay attention to it. This user should be banned and look link should be blacklisted .

The site is fairly new, just 5 days old and we all know that is one of the red flag. For sure the site that they have mimic could have been in the space for many years unlike this fake website.

Well, someone already got their wallet drained probably because of this.
Just after I posted that inquiry on their official discord channel, someone complained about having their wallet drained after using a fake wallet guard extension.

The other positive news is that the fake site doesn't have a high rank on Google to possess a real threat to those searching by the main keyword. Unless the scammer purchases Google ads, the visibility will be low. Tagging and reporting anyone new who appears here to advertise that website is the only thing to do for now.

Really, scammers have created a phishing site under the name Wallet Guard, perhaps aware that this extension is indeed excellent in protecting cryptocurrencies. They attempt to deceive people who may make mistakes and fall for the wrong domain. However, the official domain has existed for a year and 208 days, unlike the phishing domain, which is not even 10 days old. Through some quick research, anyone can easily avoid such phishing sites, even if this scammer creates another alternative account in the forum or brings a new domain. I will now report and file a complaint to the domain registrar PSI-USA through this [link], and I hope that their domain registrar team responds as quickly as possible. This domain poses a threat and could appear in search engines if not taken down promptly.

You can report such cases and the user will be banned. I am surprised why wallet services do not purchase most of the domains and redirect users to one domain or choose a name so that all domains can be purchased from it. their reliance on domains such as .app and ignoring .com makes the task of scammers easier.

The date of creation of the domain is recent, so it will not get a good place in Google search, so they rely on direct promotion.

It's not as easy as it sounds. Most quality domain names are already taken. Some of them are for sale and some aren't. You would be really lucky if you found a domain name that isn't expensive and is available for all the popular domain extensions so that you could purchase them all. It would help for your SEO and to avoid phishing scams, like the one in OP. But a startup or non-for-profit could consider that an expensive purchase.

Oh bad luck of this guy as he become victim very quickly. This why scammers are doing risk of domain, hosting and site burden because they know that there are still people who are lazy to research for real project.

Thanks Lafu, Ann has been deleted and user has been banned. I hope there will ne no more advertising for this scam site. I appreciated  OP and your work. There should ne strict tolerance for phising/scam sites.

Update:

The PSI-USA team responded to and addressed my complaint and report regarding the phishing domain "walletsguard[.]com." I provided them with the official wallet guard domain link and the phishing domain link, along with the link to this thread, as evidence. They forwarded my complaint to InterNetX. I believe that the domain has now been down after they reviewed all the provided details, and the status of the phishing domain is currently inactive. I am pleased with their prompt actions against these phishing domains that harm users and violate their policies.
