The only thing I can think of right now is you locking this thread, as I don't see any usefulness of it. First off, the forum and it's members have always welcomed new members and helped in many ways in which they might understand how the forum and how Bitcoin works. And from your post history, you would be able to tell that you were guided on your first post here on the forum.

Please don't mind my typing skill and pattern but I have been snooping around this community for some time and still haven't certainly understood the whole website because the whole system seems very confusing.

There is this current surge of Bitcoin boom going on in my place and I feel like am left behind and so I have been asking alot of questions and some of my colleagues are actually tired of me because I ask alot of crazy questions some time.

And there deem it fit that I should ask this question in a place where I can be fully corrected and guided so I asked for link of Bitcoin website this one was given to me.

Please all I want to know Is the basics and how can I benefits from this Bitcoin that is exploding everywhere.

Well you say this like the forum is not already supporting the newcomers community, even before you made this post the newcomers has always been receiving support from the community and many members has contributed to answering questions by newbies to help them get a better knowledge of what is happening.
Also there are pinned messages and the search option is always available to be used it's left for newbies to hustle for what they want.

No one is being forced to come to this forum, each everyone chose to willingly, there are many things that a newbie needs to take their time in to discover about this forum and not immediately they enter they get used to every, the forum is very large enough to provide e every necessary request they may need as a newbie, but how can someone who doesn't read learn, there are pinned threads on each sections they can read about the forum and learn from, they can make use of the forum search engine, they can also post here on beginners and help, this is such a place that is always welcoming and accommodative.

The OP doesn't add anything useful, that's true, because all the ideas he mentioned are put in action at least since I joined back in 2017, and I'm very sure that before too. Maybe the OP meant something different with the one about the mentors? there are plenty of threads that recommend authors of books and other sources of information everyone can learn from though.

But I'm not a friend of locking threads lightly, as some of them may lead to new ideas from other members that perhaps no one would have thought of until now. For instance, in this case, it could lead to a discussion about a Bitcointalk mentorship programme. I don't see it as very viable, but it is just an example.

I don't agree at all that this place ain't welcoming to new folks.  Sure, maybe some threads toss ya in the deep end, but I ain't seen anybody here give newbies a hard time.  People have gone outta their way to help me out when I was just startin out.  The guides here are real good for beginners too.  And it's easy to just ask questions if you get stuck.  Lots of patient users here to lend a hand and  guess I just haven't seen this unfriendliness you complain about.  Far as I can tell, this is one of them nicer internet communities.  So why do you feel that there is something to improve?

Let us turn this around for a minute. Some of the ways that can prompt a newbie to be helped.
- read more than you write in advising newbie members
- read forum rules
- take responsibility for their growth and not seek validation from other members
- getting a life outside the forum
- grow a thick skin.

Just to add though, senior and respected members here are not going to spoon feed newbies though. Don't get me wrong, we wanted to help everyone specially those newcomers. But it's better for you and the rest to learn things by yourself. Specially the dreaded questions from newbies asking for financial advises.

This forum has tons of information to begin with, so used it to your advantage. Just like everyday, learn a thing or to about investments, altcoins market, or what causes the price to go up and others. Just go around the forum, sort of play around with it and then familiarize yourself. And for sure you will be happy that you do that in your own capacity and in the future you might be the one answering questions for the next set of newbies going into this community.

What prompt this topic if I may ask, did you perhaps see a thread where a newbie’s question or request for help was ignored? I don’t think this topic should be taken seriously because we do all these things mentioned in the OP. What other support do newbies need? Mentorship in an online forum is a bit too much to ask, don’t you think? There are lots of credible information on bitcoin available here, all you need to is use the search engine.

Points you mentioned already happens here, if you look around newbie profiles, you will find it to be true. But, often whatever you look for can be found by mere Google search. If you want your answer to be found particularly here, add 'bitcointalk' after your search term, high chances you will find relevant topic.

I understand, it can be overwhelming for newbie to be in crypto space, it's speeding space, things change at rapid pace but if you stick around, you'll automatically gather knowledge without you being actively aware of it.

This community has always welcomed newbies. The goal of this forum is to spread Bitcoin knowledge, so the community will always be pleased to welcome new members who are willing to learn about Bitcoin. No rule stops any newcomer from asking questions. There is no question that you will ask in this forum that will not attract answers and members are always willing to help newbies.

The forum has enough educational material that can turn a newbie into a knowledgeable Bitcoiner. There is no information about Bit Bitcoin that you cannot find in the forum if you do a patient search. The forum doesn't support videos yet, but there are other good videos on YouTube and I recommend Andreas M. Antonopoulos's videos.

I am aware that newbies cannot post pictures but they are not restricted from engaging in various discussions. But they are always advised to read and observe more than posting. The newbie period should be a time for learning and not writing. But they can always ask questions but it should be relevant. Many questions that most newbies ask have been answered several times. These questions keep reappearing because they don't use the search option of the forum.

The forum tolerates newbies and when they make mistakes members correct them with love. But you don't expect to receive a nice response from everyone. Some people might not be patient because they expect newbies to do research before posting on the forum. However, you should learn to accept unkind words or criticism.

I understand the intent behind this post may have been well-meaning, but it seems to make some unfair assumptions.  Perhaps we could reframe the conversation in a more constructive way - focusing on how we can continue supporting new members while also recognizing the great work many contribute here already.  Before you posted this topic, did you even check out this board? Have you seen any cases where new members weren't given the warmest welcome by the old-timers?

A radical concept, I know. But maybe, just maybe, they could take a few minutes out of their busy lives to actually read the forum rules and guides, search for existing threads, or even just use a little common sense. After all, who would want to actually put in some legwork and learn something for themselves?

If you are referring to the newcomers of this platform then I think these points of yours are more than enough but if you are referring to an overall newbie in the real world who is not on BTT. Then I will say these points also suit them. But newbies should never depend on a single source either its video tutorial or a mentor. In the start, newbies should follow everyone and should not make any mentors in the early time.

He should first wait for the right time to decide whether to trust that method or not, and with time you can learn new things also.

Newbies should Do their own research and never trust blindly, be skeptical about new learnings and ask questions, and try not to feel bad when some older or senior will taunt them for not doing good or doing something wrong.

Isn't the forum community supporting newcomers since eons ago?  The knowledge that is written in this forum is enough to fuel a newcomer's venture into cryptocurrency.  Aside from that, the members of this forum had been actively answering queries and questions and there were even times an argument occurred due to different beliefs and understanding regarding the questions laid.

So ever-since, this forum had been supporting newcomers in not only navigating the crypto space but even spoon-feeding them with the information needed for crypto ventures.

About the ideas, I think, in a thriving community like this forum, the implementation of a carrot-and-stick approach is good too.  Newcomers should abide by the rules and regulations of the forum/community, they can get rewarded by merit and activities for rank up, newcomers need to strive to learn more to help the next newcomers, and implementing bans and post deletion is also a good way to keep the community, especially newcomers in order.

In addition, newcomers must stay vigilant, there are lots of scammers lurking in the crypto space.  Be aware of their tricks and avoid them like a plague.

is their anything you've listed here that is not provided to new comers by members of the forum? To the best oft knowledge, Amy newbie that just joined the forum and create a thread requesting for help from forum members, it's always provided to him with immediate effect.

Talking about mentors, if the newbie is intentional about his growth not just in this forum but including in his crypto journey, their are. Loads of individual and senior member in the forum he can decide to learn from ny observing the kind of threads and replied given by them. Mentorship doesn't always suggest that you have to single out a person out for that particular purpose, it could be that you just like the way a particular person does things and you follow his footsteps by careful observation.
