Well, I can’t say much on this because I don’t know how much the truck generates for you guys, but if the money is too small, look out for other legit means of making money. I think the reason is the money itself, we know that this world runs on money, so if you lack it financially you will probably suffer a lot. People don't value their life or the others cause they are still there, they know that you won't be leaving this world any time soon so they are being careless. We should not let our guard down as accidents may occur at times, which I hope not, but eventually will come so we need to be ready and try to be cautious every time. If your task is potentially harmful to your life, don't do this! However, it can't be used as an excuse to not work on something else. Does your mom has a lot of loans that she's being buried already and need to pay all of them? Because I don't see any reason why she needs a lot of money, or else she's having a high greed for money which I think is not good at all. And for that to make it happen, you have to compromise your safety over the last money you can get despite of the danger that could happen to you if she insist you to ride with that old truck.

What you need to do is to talk to her seriously. There's no other solution to that so she will stop nagging you for that last money. Money can still be gained in the future, but life doesn't have a rewind so make sure to live your life well. Safety first over love of money.

That's your mum, how old are you and your mum is? It seems that she needs money so give that to her, is it going to be a long drive? If you can't agree to her then ask her a bit portion of that money that she'll earn. It's not going to hurt you to ask since you are her son.
Anyway, I am guessing that this drive and earning money for both of you have been done already. So, if it was a city drive then it was manageable but if it was a long drive then you have to do all of the repairs and ask her to cover some of it since she has used it for some business.

It's a very very weird topic, and a very very weird message. I have to say that something that we need to focus on and we need to do a lot better personally. Lets assume that this is not really a thing that should matter and we could consider this as real message and I believe that we should not consider the problems of people as fake, but if we take it for real then if she is telling you to make some more money then it's probably not for greed but because you do need money, and it's true that everyone needs money.

Op may not have written his thread in the sound of the event happened. He may have done it out of his reaction. Reading the thread, you'd think Op's mum is raising her voice on OP every single time, which may not be true. And we all are expected to respond to the thread using the same tone Op added to his write up. But the fact remains that we are not presently in the place where this occurs. Women, especially mothers repeat complaints to their kids in a way that now sounds harsh to the child. They wouldn't allow you a breathing space. In all conversations, she'd endeavor to bring up the same matter you've been thinking of solving all night long. It now gets to an extent where the child gets fed up with too many complaints and starts to react angrily, as the conversation with his mom pisses him off, and when sharing his experience he'd then try to off all the stress the mother's complaints has been causing him.

I think it's one reason OP's tone on his mum sounds like he's got a helicopter parent that doesn't give him freedom. From the context of his writing OP happened to be the good son who wouldn't say anything when his mum is talking. But, it would have been better if OP mentioned the risks of driving a broken-down truck on the streets. Mothers don't seem to understand risks, they want to get what they want regardless of anything and imagine all would be right. Hence, risking the life of the child, however, no situation is worth rushing. I'd advise Op not to rush things, and act whenever he feels like it because he's the one at risk, not the mother. If anything bad, God forbid, happens, his mum would also feel a greater pain. For the love, always give her listening ears, then make plans on how you can solve the problem. Remember don't stress yourself a lot, if the problem seems to be bigger than you, which I don't think so, look for different tasks to keep you busy.

and my first opinion last week was that his mother would not let him use the income he generates to repair the truck so he can work more to earn more to progress the family without the risk,

but now after re reading all his responses he seems to be trying to find excuses to give up earning money at all.. thinking that working just for a clean house and meals is not worth it.

he is not interested in idea's on how to convince his mother the truck needs repairing. he just wants to state that the truck is the reason he should stop going to work and how his mother tells him to keep working

i think the OP is new to adulthood and doesnt realise all adults should be generating an income.
stop blaming the mother for telling him to work. and just plan how to overcome his own objections like the supposed risk to life(by fixing the truck) and then work continuously to progress the families prospects

reading his other topics. he talks about blaming his youtube entertainment obsession for raising his dopamine levels to not feel pain, meaning he has no excuses to take it easy and stop working. he wants the pain so they he can have reason not to work

doesnt he realise people even if he pretends to have a bad leg. there hare people with no legs at all that still work.. so dont play games acting like a bad leg is reason not to work or a bad car...

jsut get the truck fixed and work your life into prosperity
