Well, to me, this is completely normal, I mean, there is a lot of lies in the world in general, not just in the aspect of gambling, people lie for many and different reasons, so for a gambler to lie to his or her friends or family that he or she won a bet when he is she never did is just is just simply too common to even discuss about it.

The only situation where I see that some people fake their winnings is only online. Basically there is no reason to ever listen to a gamble who is trying to hype up their wins, because it's not going to benefit you in any way.
