Has anyone else experienced delays or lack of response from Coin Market Cap after making an upfront payment for listing? My friend's exchange hasn't heard back for 6 weeks despite the initial ETA of 14 days. Any advice or similar experiences to share?

I had no idea that CMC now requires fees for a coin or token to be listed on their website. How times hnave changed. Are you sure the right channels or proceedures of listing were used?

At this price, they should at least provide update/s if there's gonna be a delay or something was wrong. I hope your friend has applied to coingeko as well-- honestly, it has better rep here.

Coinmarketcap official listing is totally free. Probably you avail 3rd party services on listing to coinmarketcap and not the official one although CMC employee sometimes deliberately delaying the listing application through the official way just to make people use this kind of shady 3rd party listing.

Official listing can take weeks or months due to heavy volume of applications but I’m really sure you avail 3rd party service of listing which is not CMC scope anymore.

Probably you avail 3rd party services on listing to coinmarketcap and not the official one although CMC employee sometimes deliberately delaying the listing application through the official way just to make people use this kind of shady 3rd party listing.

While it wouldn't hurt to check if op's friend was phished, I wouldn't be so sure that they availed a third party service.

From their help article, there is indeed a "priority" paid service directly from CMC now.

I’m aware on the priority listing service on CMC but it doesn’t stated on the OP while CMC listing guy service is very popular on telegram and other social media channel that being use by many crypto project before the existence of this priority listing service by CMC itself.

Some of the CMC employees is working a side hustle on doing this job on their own and this is the service which I assume happened due to the duration of the waiting time which is ironic for the “priority listing” feature.

I'm afraid most here, if not all, couldn't share an actual experience of applying for exchange listing on Coinmarketcap. So you will get pieces of advice from people who haven't gone through the same process.

Anyway, with a delay of almost 1 month and hearing nothing from them, I can only hope that your friend directly applied with CMC and not through an unauthorized intermediary, or even a scammer.

Did your friend receive an official invoice from CMC itself? I don't know how trustworthy CMC is in terms of exchange listing but there must be something wrong going on when a response is long overdue when CMC itself guarantees that "we will only issue an invoice if we are confident of meeting the deadline after performing an internal feasibility analysis."

The end of the year and the holiday season witness a delay, and it may be acceptable if it was a week or two, but 6 weeks is a lot. Tell your friend that if you do not receive a response from them, it is better to troll the issue as a scam on Twitter, Reddit, and here, they will respond to this reaction quickly. I did not find similar complaints, so the problem may be related to your friend's request.

OP, likewise, everyone is sharing the same thoughts that your friend probably have contacted a fake CMC staff. This is common in most of the reputable services and websites that we have. Why did you paid upfront without even dealing or checking the entire thing if they're from the actual website. Tell us more about your friend paying for the listing because it won't take that much long whenever it's from the verified coinmarketcap staff. Much better to ask your friend before going here, pay a visit to the official website of coinmarketcap.com and check all the transactions, domains, emails or letters that he has interacted with that probable fake representative.

Yes, I could see the need to confirm whether op has used a 3rd party listing service or not but given the information presented currently, we can't be "sure" of either possibilities "yet" which was my point. Both possibilities are plausible at this point imo-- CMC being piss poor or op got scammed.

You probably paid a so-called CMC listing agent; those are fake. For CMC priority listing, you have to apply officially, and you have to verify the application as authentic through your official social media profile. After that, CMC will contact you through official mail for the next step, like accepting pricing terms and conditions. When you fulfil their conditions, they will provide you with a payment invoice. Once you pay, your project should be listed within 24 hours. I have listed many projects myself. Just make sure you haven't been deceived by a scammer.

I'm afraid it's what OP's friend had experience. I see some users offering this kind of service on the Services board although there are some legit since a reputable user offering this too. But for that long? That's already suspicious. Unfortunately, OP doesn't give an update regarding this thread.

They are offering both free and paid listings to tokens or coins and exchanges. Coinmarketcap has what they call as CMC Priority where tokens or coins and exchanges could apply for quicker and manual listing process. And it's not cheap. For non-automated listing of an exchange, it could be as high as $50,000. Such listing could also be included in a pre-paid package which could go as high a price as $1 million.

Not an exchange, I have experience bringing coin projects that pay through agents. It was registered just 5 days later. Since CMC has now explicitly asked for a fast track fee, I think that way now also has a lot of queues and $50k is just a regular fee. I mean, OP can ask if there is let's say a "platinum" track.

Because here there are more than 2M+ Cryptos and the number continues to increase insanely, so I would not be surprised if they asked for a million dollars for listing, because it is difficult to remember the name of 100 cryptocurrencies, let alone the investment, so they give free listing for distinguished projects because people will search for their price on coinmarketcap.com and will visit The site means more money from ads or you need to have a paid profits.

I also don't know about making payments in some exceptional cases or scenarios for a coin to be listed, if they are the ones actually biding for that particular coin to be listed, then I don't think we need to put much hope on that to see it come a reality, because our coin performance will do the rest of the finishing works, but if we are the one biding for our coin to get listed on exchange, they may require us to have more little patients while they also conduct some background checks.

If that is true then that is really insane. they are making a lot of money from these fees then.
I wonder if that really worth for new projects to go with paid exchanges with coinmarketcap. that is really a big website. maybe it is a good deal for new tokens/coins after all because they get a lot of exposure with the listing in coinmarketcap. .. but it sounds so unfair at the same time.
I think it is better to go with free listing and save the money for yourself.

I am curious, then, why you made the post. If your problem has been solved, at least you may update and lock the thread. You may share some more information that would be helpful for others or that would help solve your problems. This kind of behaviour isn't appreciated here on the forum.
