I found out that some of us in this forum always give references of including our country in some of the post in the general board and I see it as unnecessary for us to be revealing the identity of our country in some post or threads here. It is important for us to note that even the developer(s) of Bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto is anonymous, as his/their identity is not known thereby it is assumed that anything concerning Bitcoin or Bitcoin related activities shouldn't be made too expository due to some unforseen circumstances.

We should be very careful on how we go about publicizing ourselves in this forum. I urge us all to limit from exposing ourselves or our country in this forum, everything should be done on code in other to sustain our reputation and the reputation of our dear country. My humble opinion though, if anyone has any contrary view or support please the response session is Open.

Because it's almost the same thing I have explained concerning getting split out of how things are going or what we are passing through by trying to say that here is a place to had given us an edge to remain affirmatively.

Legend, I know posting on local board automatically identify one as a member of that particular country in this forum but what I mean is when posting in general board, there are people that normally include the name of the country which I feel it isn't really necessary to include the name of one's country when making posts on the general board like for instance when someone is giving opinion to a post in the general board then they say "in my country Nigeria'' so definitely one can just say in my country without saying the name but if we think it's necessary to some extent then you can still put me through.

Op way tin dey make some of our sisters/brothers dey add Naija for their comment or post na because when they want to use way thing dey happen inside Naija take create post or use am do example for the forum, and how Bitcoin dey help them overcome those things. And here people like facts, and they fit go do research to check if the thing way you used do example or create post really happened for your country. For example, during the Naira scarcity, some of our Naija sisters/brothers made posts about how them they accept Bitcoin as payment for their businesses to help people fit buy food chop and also create more Bitcoin awareness for Naija.

Op see your idea of anonymity dey understandable oo but to an extent person no fit jus keep him identity away like that. Even when we never get our local board self, people still know where we dey come from just as we self dey know how e dey be for others, so no reason am like that. All the same men go still dey do things by anonymous way too no lele, nothing don spoil for that level.

I quite understand the perspective with which OP is talking about anonymity but we need to understand that since we are in this forum whether you declare your identity or not you will still be known, like nothing is hidden in this forum as every activity of any member of this Bitcointalk forum is being seen by all but what we should advocate for is that we should be careful with what we relate outside our local board just like @ adbitco said in his thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5477854.0  so, that should be our major concern but saying we need to be anonymous in this forum it doesn't work at all.

Op you see this issue your raising keep me wondering all time reading and seeing many in this platform critize their country not in constructive but destructively I am not a party to government or leaders misconducts but we should be guided in how we bring our self and the nation so low even many nation are worst but can't hear or see then exposed their identity. One thing I realized here is that some beginners or operator of this platform just make post because they want to but never articulate the side effects of negative or positive what pain me some time is to go through line of written words without achieving meaningful idea, information that can help

I understand what you meant by this post OP, but we are not Satoshi Nakamoto and we can’t hide our identity forever. One thing that we are suppose to take note of is that; if exposing our identity will bring danger to us in the forum, it is better not to expose ourselves and limit what we share to the public. This is a public forum, and I’m sure almost all members of this forum are already identified to a local board and only few still keep themselves anonymous for reasons known to them. Getting identified to a local board shouldn’t be a problem but revealing more of your identity after that makes it dangerous to do in a public forum especially if what you’re exposing can affect you online.

by participating in your local board, you've automatically let the forum know where you are from. people will want to know how the campaign for bitcoin adoption is striving in your locality and how will they know that without knowing someone that's from your country?

The way we are going about the secrecy is getting to the extreme to be serious, it's understandable when we hide our Bitcoin holding from people and not all that strange if we decide not to reveal the personality behind each account to the public but when it comes to revealing our country, I don't see anything that is wrong with it.

OP, i am not in support with what you said. Imagine we stop posting or sharing minds here on our LB then how are we going to grow here? Staying anonymous means no posting, no messages and no conversation. The forum solely rely on the conversations of individual perception or views. This is why we continue to create good dialogues abd as well bring quality traffics to the forum.

However, we can keep our bitcoin life personal. Since it is something that has value and deserves to be private. Sharing every information on our bitcoin life can jeopardise everything we own. This is why there is a board for general bitcoin discussion only.

The forum is a transparent platform that nothing can be hidden. And this should opt everyone to be careful on what they brings about and how what they presents is constructed because interests in the forum is circular whereas anyone is licenced to any of the boards as long you feel it is best suit and offers what is best acceptable to you.
Contrarily that should serve a warning so as to keep up the heel of useful participation at either general or the locad boards.

Before someone identify himself as a Nigerian, the general public also know that you be Nigerian so even you know talk dem know so dat is why many people dey talk. We all know that this is a forum of anonymity and in that magnitude everyone must keep that secret. Op you should also know that there are some people in the forum that are not from any local board and what local board was created was because of the barrier of the English language and also to identify those active countries in the forum. And to bring more people to the forum to learn Bitcoin and increase the number of Bitcoiners. So if you have not identify yourself as a Nigerian then you can ide it but if you are not then can mention your country when necessary.

Being in any local board alone has revealed your country identity, but that dose not mean that your full identity has been revealed because even people in this localboard did not know each other face to face, only few knows each other.
The anonymity is still there provided that we did not tell everyone here in this forum our real identity like names, address and probably ethnicity; therefore, posting to show or identify your country can be for the purpose of explaining yourself more better in order to get the right help and support you need or to point out the exact information for reference purposes.

This is a good advice, since this forum is not like social media handles, our privacy is very important that is why we have anonymous names and not full names. Exposing ourselves is not good which I have not seen anyone here that did that, but posting with our country as refence or showing or pointing out our country is normal because with or without pointing out your country in your post, if you are an active member in the local board, your identity of your country is already recognized, and if you are proud with your country, I think it is not a bad idea.

The reason some people may not want people to know their country is privacy. They will just prefer not to let anyone know. A good poster may think that way and grow in rank as he continue to post. The second reason someone may not post in local board is when he has alt. He may just be using just one account to post on local board but avoiding to use the other. Another reason is that the person may not feel like posting in local board.
