I bought a book, yes an actual paper book, couldn't find the ebook
Just finished reading the foreword and couldn't help noticing parallels to our interesting times.
Charles Goodhard in the foreword to
"Good Money" -- Birmingham Button Makers, the Royal Mint, and the Beginnings of Modern Coinage, 1775-1821 by George Selgin:
I certainly agree, that when the government fails to provide a satisfactory money, substitutes will be forthcoming, wether foreign money [...] or private tokens.
Maybe we should write a followup book to that:
