FIRST OFF UNPLUG IT

Put you cell phone in the microwave close the door and call your cell phone.

If your cell phone rings the microwave is defective and is leaking microwave energy.

Once you test it :

REMEMBER TO REMOVE YOUR PHONE

If the phone rang inside you need a new microwave or you need to stay at least 12 feet away from it if you use it.

I am curious to see if you do the test what your results were.

All of my phones did not ring.

4g LTE or 5g were blocked by the microwave's faraday shields.

This is very interesting and something I didn't know until now.  Makes me wonder if I should be keeping old microwaves to be using as faraday cages.  Thanks for sharing this.  Learned my something new for today.  Smiley

If the microwave is sound and effective will it only be able to block calls from entering the phone?

How about keeping the phone inside the microwave and making use of it as hotspot which will give your other gadgets service for browsing will the microwave allow that too?

If yes then that will be a perfect way of converting my old gadget to Wi-Fi and don’t have to worry about calls distributing the network.

a few note: you should not put your phone in with cellular data on and instead put it in with your WiFi on

cellular data functions with much lesser frequency than WiFi and the microwave so if you put it in with your cellular data on, your phone will always ring inside the microwave it would be a shame if you replaced a perfectly good microwave because of a silly mistake

I dont think this is a safe or accurate method for testing a microwave. Microwaves emit electromagnetic radiation and putting a cell phone in the microwave can damage both the phone and the microwave haha what do you think? I cant risk either my phone or my microwave. To ensure the safety and efficiency of your microwave, it's best to follow the manufacturer's guidelines and consult the store that you bought it from in case it malfunctioned. Anyway, you wont buy another microwave just because it rang when you tested right? It’s just a great experiment haha
