Fear is something that limits a person to take some certain actions. It paralyzes the emotion o the extent your mind warns you to stay away from a situation that it senses to be dangerous. Truly there are periods when your scared and that instincts will protect you from falling for serious circumstances. Which is why i do not not considered fear to be something that is very bad.

My curiosity is that, why do we fear when we re introduced to new things? When we are trying to learn something  new? If there is a traumatic experience, should we let fear to get total control of us? Have we been criticized in anyway when we try to learn something new? Are there any experience of failure when we start something new?

We are in the era of new technologies and a lot has been introduced. AI, digital banking system, Cryptocurrency to mention a few. Few persons have adopted and few are still ignorant because they are afraid. I think it is time for more sensitization that will let this set of persons to understand that there is no harm in learning new things. If it is a feeling of being dumb or unintelligent then it should be replaced with positive mindsets.

Just like the saying "The journey of a thousand mile begins with one step" If you don't start you will not discover your potentials. You could be the solution to a problem in the future but how will you solve it if you don't start now?. Also, if it is because of the feeling of past failures it should be ignore and try new things out.

My two cents is that if you want to grow and develop in whatever field of life you find yourself then you just have to do away with fear. We should always try to dare what other think it's impossible for it's within the impossible that possibilities are achieved a d hero's are made.

It is not bad to have fear but don't have the fear that makes you avoid doing and trying new things. The fear we should have should be that fear that guide us to be careful and critical with what we are doing to avoid making errors and blunders buy in the course of it all even if we never succeed in what we try doing for the first time we didn't fail we only gained experience and another way of doing it differently.

Learning new thing isn't always an easy decision to make plus that thought regarding the possibility of doing well in it or not could become a serious setback that if not properly managed could put you in a situation of not growing at all.

You and everyone can try anything new but only learning and knowledge are not enough to succeed in any market. You must have experience in the market and to gain experience, it will cost you a lot, from time to money. This kind of fear is the type that occurs at first appearance we make in doing something new, this same kind of fear happened to some new members of bitcointalk because they don't know where to started from and how they could know virtually everything about bitcoin necessary for them to know, but when we are determined to made a conquer on our fear, we will not be a victim of being intimidated by anything new or strange to us, instead we will pick up the challenge to know it.

I have heard people say that somebody is fearless but from my experience and reading, I doubt if anybody has attained the realm of fearlessness. Every human fears uncertainty, I usually call it the fear of the unknown. When you are embarking on a new journey in life be it education, profession, business, marriage, migration, etc, you are always scared about a negative outcome because you are not sure of how it will play out. I have failed in business several times due to poor planning and lack of study but I am not scared of criticism because I learned important lessons from my business failures. I love criticism because you can learn lessons from them and improve, but you can put unreasonable criticism into the trash bin.

It is important to acknowledge that it is not everybody that will be interested in new technologies. Some people might be interested in other sectors and they will also be successful. But if it is fear of the unknown that is limiting people, then there is a need to break free from such limitations. It is even more risky not to take risks and life is short so we should maximize each time. It will cost you almost nothing to learn about something new. With just an Android phone, you could become a professional in diverse areas of these new technologies.

Procrastination is a time thief because it leads to indecision. Some ideas should be implemented immediately because they can become outdated. Well, you are right about the part where fear is what will limit a person's certain action but if you think positively about it then fear is also a friend. Fear is natural, and it's one thing that as humans we must feel most especially when learning something new which involves the use of money (i.e the fear of losing your hard earn money). As it is fear that helps us to make calculated steps, which most times prevent us from falling victims to scams. But at some points our ability to balance our fear plays a bigger role to help us spot which is an Opportunity or not. Example, when Bitcoin got launched in 2009, not all those who got introduced to it believed in it, simply because it was a new assent under development which required investment, and that most have scared many people allow ad they thought it could be another form of Ponzi scheme, not until many years later when it's value started skyrocketing. Hence, though fear is natural, our ability to control it matter most.

Sometimes fear is an enemy of learning, fear shouldn't deprive from learning.  Life is all about learning,  we might not learn things so fast, sometime it take some stages to learn . Fear is never bad but the feel you get after missing an opportunity that was hindered by fear makes one feel fear itself is bad but behind that feeling the person in this case is the cause of any opportunity missed because he or she lacks self control/emotional control. Everything has a purpose fear has it's own purpose and it does it part very well that it requires personal skills to handle it.

Surely there is always a cloud around new things that our brains begins to ask questions of this nature, like are you sure I can do this? or should I call it doubt in our confidence. This is usually as a result of we trying to be perfect and never to make mistakes in a new thing forgetting the fact that nobody is perfect.

Even before you finish typing this particular question I guess your mind should give you the answer already. BTW it's never advisable to allow your past experiences to control your present because it might end up ruining your opportunities. we shouldn't allow it to even control talk more or less of total control.

Sometimes we bully our juniors subconsciously which I'm not excluded. by this act people feel criticized but some times when we get corrected we feel some kind of pressure that turns out to be pride that makes one not to accept the correction.

Fear have it's purpose in our lives, fear isn't completely bad like that, you just have to learn to overcome it, and sometimes the fear in you is what will keep you out of dangers, it's like trying to take a underground passage way back home and you see some figures in the dark, if you overcome your fear and proceed you can get stabbed and robbed, but if you listen to your fear and run, you've save yourself.

Tmoonz, fear isn't the greatest enemy of man, the greatest enemy of man is SIN, and this consists of greed, Gluttony, Lust, Pride etc, fear is a natural emotion that alerts humans to the presence of danger or threat of harm, God gives human this fear for this purpose, know when to run and know when to fight.

A warrior must not always stand a fight, there must be time for him to retreat and fight another day, depending on the situation, this is the best way to have a longer life, we all have fear in us and it's good if you use it proper, the fear of succeeding in life struggles is the type you need to face and fight, it's different from trying to survive a danger.

Don't eliminate fear but rather make it as tool for you to have some doubts about everything you want to do. Its also helpful so that you can do further more research and can think about more nicer before trying to go something especially if we talk about investment.

But keep learning new things everyday since this is actually what we need to became more better investor. Fear of the unknown can make one miss out from his opportunity by not giving it a trail. Learning something new depends on the mindset of the person. Some people have open mindset to learn something new everyday so that they can improve their knowledge but some people have stagnant mindset, such people are not ready to learn anything new because they believe that they know it all and they are ok with the way they are.

It is not everyone that will adopt bitcoin because there must people people who will criticize bitcoin to help it have more firm after when bitcoin has gone in opposite direction to what it was critize about. I agree with you, Op. If this fear of something new is excessive in context, it will definitely have a bad impact. Because excessive fear is not good for anyone to continue to have. Because fear can indeed hinder progress in any field. And crypto is indeed a great example. The reason is, crypto money originating from the digital era is still feared and suspected by many people. As human we are bond to fear. As a matter fact " the fear of the unknown is the beginning of wisdom" sometimes we need to fear for us not to fall into trap or unknown dangers. While sometimes we need to try and remove the fear of failure,  because the fear of failure is the reason of humans not progressing in some certain things.

Due to previous experience. So many people have fall into trouble because of not doing proper research or findings before they went into a particular thing and they failed couple of times and that made them to be careful in what ever thing they do.  Just like me I have made couples of mistakes when I bought my first coin and due to that I am always carefull when sending coin to an address because any slighted mistake you end up sending to a wrong address. And that is the fear of Loosing fund.
