It claims to solve some of the problems in btc，Few come to mind:
-Treasury to not depend on outside money or donations.
- Governance, coinholders chose how Decred evolves, and how the treasury is spent.

While I am in favor to see Bitcoin goes $200,000 soon, I am familiar with decred like this was one of the popular coins during the 2017 bull run.
While it's known that most of the cryptocurrencies are going to be bullish whenever Bitcoin is bullish, so you probably are expecting or waiting for some people to tell you that it's going to be bullish. If so, I am not that person that you're waiting to say but I'd speak for general market if Bitcoin goes $200k. Btw, I truly like whenever someone says something like this for Bitcoin.

It is very challenging to  predict the exact timing  of  Bitcoin reaching the $200,000 mark due to its inherent nature of high volatility. However, if all goes well on approval of spot Btoin's approval by SEC, and all applications are accepted including those from influential entities like BlackRock in early 2024, coupled with the historically positive impact on Bitcoin price since its inception in 2009. The cumulative effect of these event can potentially trigger bullish trend in late 2024.

If we calculate that $200K price with the current supply of Bitcoin (BTC), then we find the MC of Bitcoin (BTC) to be: $3,915,111,200,000. And that $200K price is almost 5X the current price, so if we were to estimate the pairing to the major altcoins it would probably be 6X - 9X.

When you compare a real Iphone with a fake one, the real one will always win. And in this case, Decred was designed to compete with BTC.
BTC definitely will gain more value in the future but Decred probably will only stay as an altcoin for a "mining play".

And when the BTC price hit $200k, DCR price also will rising but how high? perhaps only a few bucks.
The question is, why people need to use Decred while we can use Bitcoin?

it used to be a top coin but seems forgotten already. the current price is $15, checking on its data its more than $100 in the last bull run.

it's a very valid question as to why is there the need to Decred when there is BTC readily for everyone. so why did its price rise so high up to $100 when there is no use case.?  i think because the coin is DPOS and anyone who stake will also make profits.

DECERD is a community driven coin, proposed in 2013 but main net was launched in 2016.  it was known as truly decentralized alternative to Bitcoin, and it became popular in 2017. It is based on early fork of Bitcoin block chain, currently its price is around $15  but it made  all time high (ATH)  above $200 in during the bull run of 2021. The core purpose of this coin was to resolve scalability issues of Bitcoin. The current price of Decered seems attractive for investment to make handsome profit in the next bull run.

Decred was one of the most promising project then, but the team has failed to adapt to the market conditions, just look at Ordinals on Bitcoin, it has helped BTC community to gain its mojo back. It will likely pump ones in a while, but I don't see it being a Top project again. People go after the next big thing and Decred can't offer that now

That name brings up memories but I don't think a nice bitcoin run will do anything for decred.   Haven't followed it in awhile but I think that's another coin that will end up in the graveyard.  Bitcoin runs only affect alt pumps for coins that have an active community and volume on exchanges.

I remember that coin and if anything I am surprised that it is still around as it is an old coin, however taking into account that during the 2017 and 2021 bull run it did well and it reached a very high price, if its fundamentals are fine and the developers do not turn into scammers then I could see this coin reaching a new ATH, so a small investment on that coin is not a bad idea, just make sure to keep it that way and avoid getting excited and invest more than that, since there is no way to know if a new ATH will be reached for certain.

This is myfirst time to see that someone was asking about decred which is a shit scam coin right now. Are you decred holders? The price does nothing even when bitcoin has been recovering again. I remind you that if this is the problem owned by the old coin with lack of innovations compared to the new coins. Decred will worth nothing for sure in the future. The price potentially to remain stagnant without any impressive movement like another token in the market. The era of decred has gone and you shall stick to the new tokens instead of still holding this garbage token.
There's no future for decred and try to take a look at its daily volume. It was still trading on binance and it has less than 10 millions USD. It means people have been starting to leave it .

It still takes a long time, because it has never touched the price of 100k dollars. 2024 halving may only be able to touch 100k dollars.

In the last bull run, it went beyond $200, now it is trading at $14 which is a sharp downfall. If Bitcoin goes up to $200,000 then it will pump like it did in 2021 and most probably it can break its own ATH. Altcoins in general follow the path of Bitcoin, you can expect a good pump with this coin as other altcoins will be doing. Developers are working on it as a new version was released in October this year which is a good sign.

It has a small marketcap so it has growth potential, and what i see is it does react to bullruns and might break $1k if BTC breaks $200K. But i can't see it being exciting enough to break trough top top 10 or anything like that. It's just a generic boring altcoin that makes money like lots of altcoins just because thet make money during an altcoin season.

this is my first time hearing about decred but upon researching even though it tried to basically replicate bitcoin fork i see that the two does not have any correlation with each one of their prices of course the rise of bitcoin in price affects all altcoins but the decrease and increase of bitcoin does not necessarily affect the price of decred and the increase and decrease of decred’s price of course does not affect bitcoin’s price
