Not at all. The only way to secure your account is to know what to post in this forum, do more research on any topic you want to ask about, avoid copying and pasting because this makes your account unsafe, and abide by the rules and regulations regarding this forum. The person who introduced you to this forum should have explained to you why he said you needed to have merit in order for your account to be protected. That is wrong, getting merit is for those who want to participate in the campaign on the forum. If you don't rank up, you won't be able to participate in any campaigns, merit is required to rank up, for you to rank up you need to contribute to the forum.

I don't really know why many newbies are so interested in ranking up as quick as possible when they supposed to work on themselves so that they can have enough time to grow their account very well. Merit is not the most important thing her in the forum although it all depends on what we want and what we are longing for. If we are here to join signature and bounty campaigns then we are not supposed to rush to grow our account. There are so many things to learn here apart from just joining bounty and signature campaign to earn some little cash here.

You don't need merit to post here, posting here is free, and you don't need merit. Maybe you should ask your friend why you need merit before you can post here. Maybe your friend wants you to rank up your account, that's why he said you must have merit. If you want to rank up, it's not a bad idea, just keep on making positive contributions to the forum, and you will receive the merit that your friend said you must have. Merit is never necessary, you don't need merit to join the discussion and learn in this forum which is what the forum wants for its users. But if you want the extra benefit, you want to rank up, be respected, start a business, or earn some money, then you will definitely need some merits. I think many people will give the same advice that you don't need to think about it too much, just do good discussion and contribute merit will follow, and if at the end of the day you don't get any merit you can still learn from this forum.

If it's only for survival, merits do not matter. But having that mindset does not manifest personal growth and progress, it's like you exist without benefits. And I won't chose to be that way forever. If there are certain ways to develop growth, then I would take the risk, and that's where earning merits becomes necessary.

Don't just think of your own benefits, but consider other's welfare as well. The forum is made for positive and constructive interaction, so at least do your part so you can contribute something worthy to the forum.

No, merit is not compulsory or necessary for securing your account here in the forum; you can see so many active accounts with less or no merits, and they are still interacting with other forum members, and they are getting all the information they need in the forum, and merit is not stopping them from getting all they want in this forum.But depending on your main aim for joining the forum, if you have the aim of joining the forum just to participate in signature campaigns, then merit is necessary because you need merit to rank up to another rank in this forum.

You can get merits if you post quality contents that have good information, and if people get something beneficial from it, everyone can award or give you merits if they find your post worthy of getting merits. In fact, merit is a reward for your quality contribution to the forum.

For that he already been misinformed by his friend that's why its really important that newbies should ask question since they can clearly get some accurate question base on the opinion of people. And they need to know that merit is not everything and people only want this is because for ranking up reason or to join those signature campaigns which other think about. Also they need to know that this forum is not all about that since there are more larger picture that need to see here which we can benefit from. As much as I know this forum, having merit haven’t been a prerequisite of the rules except, when it comes to signature campaigns if you know what that is but, as per account security, merits are far from it any way to secure your account. You secure your account here by ensuring you function within the rules. Anything more than that is you seeking means to an exit.

Merit is some later introduction into the forum as a way to prevent spamming and it in turns distinguishes some accounts to be active/better posters than others.  Hence, your good even without merit so long as you have an agenda that keeps you off forum politics and some other intricacies of the forum.

What's your purpose here? To grow, poly and get accepted into a signature campaign? If yes, then getting merits is very important. If that is not the case, if you just want to interact with other bitcoiners without any ulterior motives other than learning, knowledge, the you do not need to bother bout merits.

You can survive here without merit. Just keep reading, respond, and ask any questions you need to. This is the best spot for discussions, finding out the crypto industry, and having dialogues with experienced people. The merit will just come naturally without asking and applying from the merit source.

If you are here determined to join activities to earn money, you have to contribute to get merits. I am not very interested in newcomers creating many topics and sharing guides, ideas, and information that were only taken from the internet and not from their minds and self-experiences. Anyhow, newcomers are still learning and without rich experiences in this industry. So it this the common scheme. And then send messages and applications to all merit sources.

Yes that's right. In my opinion, the mindset that must be changed first, don't think about Merit first, but think first about how to gain as much knowledge as possible in this forum so that with the amount of knowledge gained, we will develop ourselves in this forum so we can make constructive posts.

Because believe me, without extensive knowledge, we will not be able to make posts that are constructive and useful for other people. You need merit to increase your rank, and if you increase your rank, you will have a higher chance to earn more.

Why did your friend didn't tell you that one? Seriously, you're a newbie here, so I will just say don't look at merits as it's your lifeline here where if you don't merit, you will not survive. Being a newbie-ranked member here or a Legendary-ranked member doesn't even matter if you're here for knowledge because both can access all of it with no restrictions (I guess).

If you want to secure your account here, you don't need merits, but you need knowledge. Knowledge to secure your account. To keep your account safe, all you have to do is adhere to the rules and guidelines set forth by the Bitcoin forum. For example, you may avoid being banned by not plagiarizing, and you can prevent account hacking by using strong passwords and remembering them. However, if you wish to participate in signature campaigns, you must have merits.

Before you may participate in any signature campaigns, you must first rank up your account to a full member rank or presumably a member rank. Several numbers of merits are required to obtain some of these positions in the ranking process. Be aware that you cannot receive merits unless you are making valuable contributions to the forum, such as insightful threads and insightful comments.

It's not easy to make quality posts that actually produce merit. in about how the post or comment can have a good impact and provide a solution to the problem being discussed. Posts that are just spam will not have any value and in fact they will give distrust to the account used.

I remember my friends when they were first introduced to this community by our seniors, they got banned one after another because back then they could not speak English well and they were misunderstood by the moderators as well. with that, they often post on different boards but the main problem with them is they don't read the rules and regulations. They just quickly post replies even though they don't have any knowledge about the topic. So it's better to read more at this rate rather than post anything because, with that, you can learn more until you have enough knowledge to share with us or in your local section.
