Bitcoin is not wildly used as an official payment currency in majority of countries because, the government do not want it due to the fact that Bitcoin is decentralized and therefore they have no control over it. Even though it's not necessary means El Salvador can control Bitcoin, but they do adopt Bitcoin which is decentralized and they could control a part since Nayib Bukele keep accumulating Bitcoin.

Yes people accepted AI existence happily because we are using it in our lives and even at work but isn't that the same with Bitcoin? I am using Bitcoin as my digital gold and its a good store of value too, that's why most of my money is in Bitcoin, I don't know about you.

If it's about replacement the entire paper money. It is unlikely to happen. A decade could be long on this one but we will never know the progress and innovation with that.

But even with great and quick adoption of Bitcoin, I think that there will still be a lot of people that will never understand what Bitcoin is and won't be using it as a means of payment and transfer and will still rely on the paper money/fiat.

It seems you are unaware of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies development over the years and it baffles me that there are still few people who don’t believe in bitcoin. Bitcoin have survived despite being kicked against and the negativity shown to it by the government, all this proves how strong bitcoin is to withstand negativity. Over the years since bitcoin’s existence it have always progressed positively and till date it’s still progressing, nothing can be achieved overnight especially when you have the entire Government against you so it is a gradual process something and gradually bitcoin will be accepted generally.

Years back no country was in support but after understanding its concept and the advantages that it offers several contries have now accepted it and in a few years more countries will do so until it is generally accepted Globally.

This is very much uncertain and that is where the doubt of whether bitcoin will make it in the long run lies, but with all progress of it so far, it doesn’t looks like it is going to die anytime soon. Paper money has been in existence for than a century and bitcoin is just a decade now, replacing the later with the former is not something that is even imaginable to happen, they can be used alongside the same time, but complete replacement is not what is even envisioned. Bitcoin was not introduced to replace paper money but to serve as alternative to it and if it can achieve that goal globally, there’s no need to eliminate the use of paper money because not everyone is now or will be computer literate in decades to come still.

Paper money won’t be out of the bank, don’t even think about it because it is not something that is going to happen either now or later in the future. Elimination of paper currency will not in anyway help in bitcoin acceptance or more adoption, but will make things hard for more people that have not exposed to the digital world. Bitcoin is for everybody but not everyone is technological inclined to use the digital currency for day to day activities. If the government wants to eliminate paper money and use on the digital currency, he will have to create an enabling environment for all to be able to use them too. That alone will cost him a lot and will prefer using that money into improving the economy of the country.

Fiat is more popular and easy to use because it has existed for a very long time. Many people might not have access to cryptos due to infrastructural problems like lack of power or internet facilities and illiteracy. OP there is no certainty in this currency called bitcoin and so is the price of it. The government cannot bank on accepting the currency just like that without having to benefit or have a say in its monetary use. They will to be some kind of monetary policies that will guide the acceptance and use of it by the citizens. If you’re thinking of how the people will use the currency when paper money is no longer in use, you don’t have to think more because paper money will never cease to exist. Bitcoin and fiat can coexist. One doesn’t have to be obsolete for the other to exist. Right now, people use bitcoin as a currency in different parts of the world. 10 years ago a lot of people believed that in 10 years Bitcoin will replace banks and there will be mass adoption. I think it was more realistic to expect mass adoption when a lot of people still didn't know about Bitcoin, but now we see that they know and don't want it. And the idea that a lot of people will suddenly change their mind is not realistic, something needs to happen to make them do it, and what could that be? I doubt that a global economic crisis would be good for Bitcoin, looking at the past it seems like Bitcoin is among the first assets to be dumped in such scenarios.

Wake up from your dreams OP, because I don't think that bitcoin will ever replace paper money because the currency is not from the government and the government are the ones controlling the economy of a country and they also decide on which currency that is banned or not.

Bitcoin never came out to replace paper money but it was created to be an alternative payment method which uses p2p payment method. Due to the fact that government cannot control bitcoin and the volatile nature of bitcoin, it might make it impossible for it to take over fiat.

I hope you are aware that bitcoin was not created to replace the traditional currency because fiat has been in existence for years. However, let us be sincere and say that bitcoin cannot replace our local currency because it is not controlled by anybody. We are the ones that will be in charge of our funds because that is what bitcoin was created for: to give us freedom while making transactions. So tell me, will the government agree with that? Nah, man, the fiat currency has existed even before the introduction of bitcoin, and it is very easy in terms of marketing, so why will people completely accept bitcoin? I don’t think it will happen.
