Thank you for bringing this to our notice for our cabal here. Something happened to me recently and e dey related to this your thread wey you translate. E get one of my wallet wey dey compromise sometimes back and I decide to do away with it and create a new wallet but normally I no be the type wey dey throwaway things easily. So even as I no dey use the wallet again, I still get the private keys. One project like that since last year run the rewards for the community and na that wallet I submitted but na just recently dem pay that rewards.
As I see the announcement for their telegram group, Omo I wan craze because the amount go cover some areas of expenses for me. I immediately remember and begin dey check where I dey keep my stuffs and luckily, I jam the keys and I import the wallet to access the funds received. So, imagine I don throwaway the keys just because I no dey use the wallet again. Na so I go just lose that coins like play.
Dis na better advice na im you carry can so, wey de very relevant for people wey get old wallet addresses wey dem don share give many people, you fit give person wey hold your old address, carry di new one give am, and di person fit want to send coins to you, come make mistake go send coins enter di old one. If dat kind thing go happen, and you don troway di password and seed phrase, na im be say di coins don lost forever be dat, so your talk make sense. Although if na very few people hold your address, e go de easy to call and inform dem to discard di old address, in dat case you fit to dispose di seed phrase if you like, because e no too de easy to still de hide wetin you no need again.
My guy, no reason am like that ooo e no go cost you anything to keep those keys even if you no use them again. Read my comment above and see how things dey sup sometimes. Again, you no fit remember all the people wey you share your wallet with in order to remind them of the changes. If na airdrop, you no go get the chance to change address.
Recently, one of my customers want to send me money. Although no be crypto but the case dey similar sha. Mind you, I already share my both accounts with them (Opay and first bank) and unfortunately I con lost access to my sim attached to my Opay account and inform all my customers to stop using Opay for any payment henceforth until further notice but unfortunately this particular customer send money to my Opay account after he try to send it to first bank but network no good. Imagine the scenario and relate it to this thread. If na crypto wallet and I still have the keys, there's no need to be panic. I go just advise us to keep everything safe as Op suggested in this thread.
