 Hi Forum,

I start this thread, because after making some search in the forum, i could not find answers.

I live in a third world contry, even almost fourth, and obviously, whatever you can get by ebay, amazon or at the corner
in the first world, here it is an odissey to get it.

And everything from outside the country become bloody expensive amongst duties and bribes.

So my request or question is:

What liquid coolant that you can buy over the shelf would be reliable for immersion cooling.

I have looked for transformer oil here, and it cost abt 7 usd the liter, food grade mineral oil, still searching.
Distilled water, i would not dare to immerse my asic in it.

any suggestions from you guys that are informed and experienced?

Atf could be? coconut oil ( i doubt it, because of viscosity)

Please let me know your thoughts.

Or maybe some thread i could read ( that i searched here and didn't find)

Thank you,

Regards!

Distilled water in a huge no-no. DI water will attack the copper components in the miners and PSU's.

in theory, it should be possible, as pure water is dielectric. But, as you say, NoNoNo....

mineral oil food grade, but i don't know where i can find it here. there are oils, but vegetal, and quite
viscose in my opinion.

I would look for liquid silicone, or something like this.

There is transformer oil available, but how good is it? i read different opinions about it for immersion
cooling, but i am biased about using it. There is repsol dielectric oil available and dialax from shell.

but, is there any suggestions for liquid more widely available? or maybe a mix of available components?

My main problem is that during the day, the ambient outside temperature, since more than 3 month, does not go under 35 ºC
(95ºF), so i have huge problems with my air cooling.

My asic for the tryout purpose is an avalon 166pro

Thanks for reading me
