We are all aware that the CBN has uplifted the ban on commercial bank and crypto transaction and that's means that we are free to transact directly to our commercial bank of which I know many people would not prefer due to the fact that this is a recent development and to some extent it's a good precautions measure because if their is one thing about this kind of news is that it's useful to both scammers and also we the actual users of the good news.

Well I thought I should give everyone especially the naive and new ones like myself a heads up about this particular news of how it can be used by scammers to achieve their mischievous plans and also everyone should be on guard because even the bankers themselves can be a big partakers in some crypto(Bitcoin) that happens in the bank.

note: beware of strange calls and claiming from different person claiming to be specialist in handling crypto transaction inside the bank because some of these might be there to cheat you in any way possible

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I still don't blame people saying this law will not stand for long and even with the scam topic, Nigeria na country wey full with cruise since this news start I never really take time read about the news and why will CBN lift the ban, abi una don hear the reason, since I never hear the reason why them lift the ban I go say them get motive of lifting the ban cause every normal human being get reason when making decision, when CBN ban bitcoin them get enough reason saying bitcoin na scam project etc, although this motive fit be good or bad but we should get a full information about this matter before conclusion, even the least person with little amount for bank scammers go still dey disturb with calls trying to scam their customers so what's this one they can't scam, even with the ban on Bitcoin scammers still continue so I see no reason why them go stop or you pointing it to bitcoin users in Nigeria, make we dey careful and stop picking unknown numbers to avoid hearing nonsense.

The only business you have with the bank is using your bank card to buy Bitcoin directly from exchanges or making transfer from your account to the account of the buyer of your asset. So I wonder the avenue or the circumstances that  scammer will take this opportunity of lifting the ban on banks to scam someone. If you don't initiate a transaction with your bank you have to ignore anything coming from anyone in the name of your bank.
Just know that your bank will never call you for anything.

Dis na very good call to our people wey dey into cryptocurrency. Nobody is to be trusted that’s why even banks dey always dey advise against anything wey go make you do anything online without you coming to d bank to meet dem physically for it. Dis na very important news update and we suppose dey very careful for dis matter because even your trusted person fit use you do wayo and scam you off your money.

I no even too reason say banks go get patronage of cryptocurrencies like before because after CBN ban dem, Nigerians don look for other means to dey buy and sell crypto and as long as that means still dey convenient for them, them no go too bother to use the bank, so dem go likely not fall to any scam through that process. But it is good to caution everyone about the implications of using d banks for it and how scammers can get to them.

I thank the OP for dis important information because as CBN don allow our banks to de facilitate cryptocurrency matter again, I know say scammers go enter drawing board to fashion out new ways to take scam people wey want do crypto transactions for banks. I no go surprise say even some people wey de work for bank wey get access to confidential information about crypto holders go collaborate and give dem fellow scammers di information and dem go call and tell you about your details to scam you. Scam de for crypto well well so as im transaction don enter bank again, we suppose still de take precautions make we no go fall victim for dem hand.

note: beware of strange calls and claiming from different person claiming to be specialist in handling crypto transaction inside the bank because some of these might be there to cheat you in any way possible
In this part of the world, every new development comes with its challenges. Remember when CBN introduced the Bank Verification Number (BVN), scammers used it to unleash evil on the citizens until the awareness spread and the rate of victims reduced. When they also launched the National Identification Number (NIN) similar thing happened; a lot of people got scammed as well.

Now that we are about to experience a boom in crypto usage and transactions, we should also expect a rise in various schemes that scammers deploy to get their victims. People should be able to gauge their fear and greed, the two key tools scammers use to get people to fall for their traps. "If it is too good to be true, then it probably isn't" this is my guiding principles that have made me remained safe from those agents of darkness.

I know the quest for quick money has eaten deep into our society, so many people are inclined to wealth without enterprise, the reason people get scammed in things that promises easy money. We should just be watchful now that we are entering a new phase of crypto usage in Nigeria.

Are you sure about this? I have not seen anywhere that CBN called bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in general as scam. Although, it is possible that they may say some scammers are using it. You should also know that this present government are in favour of cryptocurrencies. You should know that when they include crypto in the financial act of 2023.

I understand weti him dey tok. Not really that CBN called Bitcoin scam directly but rumours we're everywhere that Bitcoin was use for scamming because of the yahoo boys and don't forget say Bitcoin came to Nigeria when many of us were just coming out from the MMM collapsed shock. So probably federal government and CBN was also trying to prevent such magnitude again to prevent it citizens to fall into victims because the lost from the MMM Ponzi Scheme was much. And people were crying and some even died because of the shocked. A guy fainted in my location.

And in the time of the ban, the CBN and other agencies were using it to monitor the Blockchain and you should also know that federal government was aware that in the #Endsars, they discovered that most of the funds that were using it to sponsor the protest were traced down to Bitcoin and I believed that should one of the reasons of the banned. And for @Miles2006, one of the reasons why the government uplifting the ban because they discovered that Bitcoin will help the national economy to grow because they are going to invest in it. Because they have seen individuals using Bitcoin to become billionaires, such Obi Cubana and likes. And they also discuss that other countries are doing well with bitcoin has they accept to use it. Therefore, they is no interior motive from the government to uplifting the ban. Let wait and see next two years to come.

So probably federal government and CBN was also trying to prevent such magnitude again to prevent it citizens to fall into victims because the lost from the MMM Ponzi Scheme was much. And people were crying and some even died because of the shocked. A guy fainted in my location.
If CBN see cryptocurrencies as a Ponzi scheme, it would have been mentioned in the news immediately during or after then ban. There was nothing like that.

The federal government has nothing to do about this as they were mute and not saying anything about cryptocurrencies.

CBN wanted to protect naira and have full control at the time.

CBN said they have been looking into cryptocurrencies some years before the ban. I am lazy to look for the link. EndSARs is just used by the CBN as a means to ban cryptocurrencies in a way nobody will be able to go against them successful. The deputed CBN governor statement was also very different from this. His statement was about how some people were preferring to use crypto for business or something like that. CBN will prefer naira.

There is no two reason than CBN governor has been changed and we have another president. If Buhari and Emiefele is still there, nothing will change.

For me I just feel say all these things na because say the previous government were just short sited and they felt that we the citizen actually had an edge over them as they cannot do anything to track transaction that were crypto embedded. The former CBN governor was a man that had so many issues himself when it comes to wrong usage of funds and he was just busy fighting an innovation that could have been useful and helpful to their fallen and struggling economy.

It
note: beware of strange calls and claiming from different person claiming to be specialist in handling crypto transaction inside the bank because some of these might be there to cheat you in any way possible
If you received such calls just know that it is a scam because if you want to convert BTC to fiat from a CEX exchange such as Binance, what you have to do is to enter your banking details, the amount you want to withdraw, and the Cex exchange will pay the money directly to your bank account. If you want to buy BTC from a Cex exchange, you just need to enter your debit card details on the Cex exchange, and they will debit you from your bank account and credit you the quantity of BTC you purchased. If anyone is claiming to be a specialist in handling crypto payments in the bank, it is a scam because they do not work with a Cex exchange where you are making the transaction.

I have also prepared my mind for those minions who have taken it upon themselves to frustrate others thereby tricking them into different kinds of scams. We have to be very careful with our engagements with faceless and unknown people coming to our DMs or putting calls to our phones as assistants or whatever they call themselves to discuss about the Cryptocurrencies with you either as bank agents or staff. Don't fall into such cheap trick of getting trapped into some hackers or scammers please. Beware of such calls or messages.

come to think of it, this bankers way you talk about say them go calls you, me i really believe say nah only scammers go fit call people and convince them say them too nah bankers and them also sabi crypto stuffs, because no legit banker go try that rubbish, even bank self they talk am say th no go call customers any day to ask you their bank details, why? Because them already get am as every of their customers details dey their system (maybe even transaction PIN)
Na wetting I been wan talk be that bankers no fit do that kind thing because they know truewell say if dem get cut up say dem go penalize them, dem no go do am because e dey against there law. Except say na banker wey dem don sack before wey dey use bank information wey him get before dey enter people. Because most scammers wey dey fit enter person freely na those x bankers wey don work with bank before wey don dey frustrated wey go turn against bank to do that kind d thing. The only side I know say bank go fit cheat person na if dem send like $5 to bank, the exchange rate wey dey binance p2p no go dey the same. maybe as the current price now be #1200 or #1194.2 accordingly for p2p, bank go give you like #896.64 or even #800 because according to there exchange rate now for bank so dem go want make profit too.

Even say scammers Call you say make you do one or two, or say them be cryto currency expert , I no see any need if you know your way in crypto. because as me and you know say with the ban wey them lift say we go fit send the money directly to our account without the help of any entity just like the way you dey do your normal binance p2p without stress. And morover scammers don dey for long since binance p2p don replace direct crypto transaction with bank, so no be now wey dem lift the ban wey person go come make mistake for nothing.

Instead of falling a victim to scammers, while not still use the binance p2p, since the ban upliftment never settle down, because I no say na gradual process e go take to  circulate. Wetting go make person fit fall into that kind thing na: 1 too much being in hurry to to be the first to initiate transaction by all means for bank direct.
2 na who never Sabi about binance p2p or being ignourant

Although president Tinubu came out during his campaign saying he will accept cryptocurrency in his reign that doesn't mean he wanted crypto, sometimes we all know how our politicians work and they say things during their campaign just to get power and looking at the adoption rate of crypto in Nigeria you will understand why president Tinubu said that, even if CBN lifted the ban now it shows they have seen the benefit of crypto in the society, our present government are in favour of cryptocurrencies cause they know the benefit and that's a good development, I came across a news but I can't really remember but when I went through the news CBN government said a lot about crypto although it was not all about the scam project but they actually made a speech saying citizens should be careful with cryptocurrency in essence they tried warning people who invested in crypto 2021 during that time CBN never liked crypto, now they've lifted the ban it shows they've seen the benefit although we can't tell what inspired them to make such decision

One thing I know about these scammers is the fact that, they will never give up but I been no suppose vex too much for scammers not until they carry an reach home here where we go Dey scam ourselves which isn’t right as this hustle is against so many other things not we against we ourselves.
And we all have to Dey very careful especially with cases wey relate to money as any money wey loss through cryptocurrency Dey very hard to recover and also remember not to trust anyone on the internet

I no lie you aje, This thing wey you talk na legit. Scammers dem now adays dey very innovative, e nor dey hard Dem to bring up new ideas because of tend or any new something wey just come out. An I dey see this update as another news wey scammers fit take dey scam people. Op apart from that one sef Dem fit even create social media groups wey Dem go use take dey scam people by telling them say, Dem dey teach how to make crypto investment and from there Dem go just carry your money run if you pay for tuition fee. E no get wattin this people no go fit do just to make money, so e dey very good if we fit just dey update ourselves with thoughts wey fit dey their mind.

The Central Bank of Nigeria and the present government in power are crypto enthusiasts. They have carefully taking a sentimental Pole of how bitcoin and other cryptocurrency are to the population and it turns out to be positive than negative. So we can see them leaning towards a more favorable view of cryptocurrency. 2024 is going to be a good year for the crypto community in Nigeria. There's going to be more freedom given to cryptocurrency and its operations in Nigeria.
