I don't think so, many players have never won from several day of gambling, but in the end they are addicted. It is possible that the mindset of chasing losses, made him continue playing even though he lost continuously in several day of gambling. I doubt that. Or they may follow some streamers who have won multiple jackpots and the player gets inspired because they saw their streamer won a big amount. I guess a lot of gamblers do this. I won't lie about it. Even though I didn't win any significant amount of money from gambling, I still tried some games because I saw some random streamer won some big amount.
