ICP pumping - is it time to take profit or too early?

I got into ICP a few months ago and am almost 4x up on my position and yet to take any profit but it is now becoming quite tempting as it continues to pump.

This will be my first bull run coming up and I have been advised a lot to make sure I take profits but is taking profits now too early considering we are nowhere near main part of bull run yet?

I believe if I leave my ICP investment as it is and do not take any profit until the peak of the bull run then I will see a 50x return minimum on my investment but I know that is not guaranteed.

I am in two minds if I should cash out half of my investment soon once I 4x and let the rest ride till the bull run or if I should hold strong and not cash out anything until I 10x at least.

Use Finonacci level to determine what price is hood for taking profit because most trader use this tool to determine the sweet spot on taking profit. X4 is already a good profit imho and you shouldn’t compared the previous ATH to current price condition because of the difference on supply and demand.

At least take some profit and just save some of your holdings that you can hold long term so that you can guarantee profit in case the price suddenly dump because I’m sure people like you that purchase on lower price is already getting ready to take profit. They are just waiting for the sell off signal before they will unload their holdings.

I always found this coin strange because it was launched practically in the top 30 market capitalization, I never stopped to study the project and I don't even know if it exists.

Could anyone who knows the project share information?

This coin was actually on a boost when it was launched and I think that if your target is like that, it is going to take time. So, easy suggestion for you. While you can see that you're in profit, take a little by little on it until you have nothing left anymore this bull run. Because not everything will be up on the bull run and if you miss hit, you'll never see it again because this is how the altcoins market work.

ICP is widely considered among the top coin for Web3 and they are still in their developing phase according to their roadmap. The involvement of Dominic Williams and other popular names make people believe in the project. Unlike many other projects, there already are some pilot dapps on its ecosystem. So, I guess it would be wiser to hold onto ICP, first exit point at least at 20. I'm planning to have a grid trading bot on ICP between 10 and 50 considering how volatile the price is.

I think there are still many potential with this coin and i think recent pump hasn't reflected ICP true worth, i've personally make an entry at around $6 and it has been good rally from then.
but i'm sure it can go as much as $30 because the former all time high was faaaar above that price mark, for anyone that is holding this coin I can guess that this coin will have pump as good as solana it just gonna takes time.
after all even if we take profit right now, what other coin are we gonna invest then? its serious question because i've liquidated some of my investment and until now i keep wondering which coin are good for investment because there are not that many left good coin that hasn't pumped yet.
so if it happens that you are holding a gem then let the gem grow in value overtime it will not dissappoint.

Take profit that you are happy and if you still want some bags for eying more 50x then leave some if youre confident for this project. Also you cant expect it to outtrun its previous ATH cause coins arent gonna be always like that and has a lot of factors to be consider. But who knows if ICP could break its ATH again on bull run. But you already x4 means you are doing good. Not really fan of this token but on investment perspective its still early since this ICP priced a lot during the last bull run.

If you understand and get used to take profit with technical analysis it is better, I often use manual lines from top to top and botom to bottom forward, or maybe you can use every angle of increase and decrease with fibonacci retracement or other trend lines.

The increase of so many times will be visible to the naked eye, even if you buy like you did, for me matching the situation with expectations may happen but sometimes always with a long time, I prioritize the rotation of funds and crypto, I usually divide 4 phases to sell, yes about 25% when the pump that I think matches the pump that happened, if you can collect more fiat from daily scalping, of course if later you get the same position or there are altcoins other than ICP you will have more opportunities. (speculation of capital is not the effect of altcoin prices that can fluctuate). I hope your profit is achieved.

It can be tempting to keep your investment and hope for even more money but listen dear you need to think about the possible dangers too. The cryptocurrency market change a lot and it is hard to know when it will reach its highest point or which is the highest point. You should have a plan and think about where you should book profit.

One idea is to take out some of your investment like half of payment when you make four times the amount of money you put in. In this way you make sure you get some profit while still having a chance for the rest of your investment to make even more money. Or I think you should save your investment and should remain the profit in and hold the profit even it will give more profit to you.

Compare the historic trading price of this coin and then compare with the present price. Then look into the reason for it being dumped, as I remember ICP did not have an ICO, they did have an airdrop which is now complete. Then check whether the product that they promised has been out and if it out, is there a demand of that product. I am not sure why ICP is pumping, as I am not following it. I doubt you would get a 50x return from it as it has passed that period of pumping that hard.

I give you advise which I am following myself and that is I am holding onto my coins I bought months ago, although none of them are 4x as you do but are in profit, and I only plan to sell them when BTC reaches $100k, and that too 75% of holdings of each bag I hold.

Most investors now that hold Altcoins are truly looking at how long bitcoin can go to see the x number of pump they will have with those Alticoins. It is not a bad idea because bitcoin actually leads the pack for all this coins to follow but the problem is Alticoins can’t be trusted and seriously we be able to dictate which one will fall before the bull run or bitcoin reaching the $100k. Some scam project can bite the dust although many people are looking at ICP as a good project but I will advice OP to pull out his initial investment and leave the profit most especially if the money used to invest is not something OP is capable of losing. Or better still he can invest the withdrawn profit and then invest it into bitcoin which is more a less a safer alternative.

I have always been amazed by ICP's ability to continue to rise, especially since we do not see many Web3 projects that succeed, so if I were you, I would at least withdraw my capital and perhaps some profits and wait to see how the price will react in the future. The coming months will be bearish due to the pressure of the price rise, but it may rise well next year.

Everything said on this thread is on prediction and advisory levels, none has 100% certainty, so it's for him to consider everything and make his decision. What I can add is that if he has no important pressing financial obligations now, then it's best that he leaves the coins to hopefully live to the full potential of his expectations. His mark can be when it reaches 10x or more, then it'll be safe to sale the percentage that he desires, but he has to understand that there's a chance of it dumping along the way, that's why he has to make the final decision of whether to sale or hold.

The 50x return is not guaranteed even though this coin still has the potential to continue to rise, but you have to sell half and let the rest go, why take this step so that there is no anxiety on your part because now there is a tantalizing rise for ICP coins.

At least by withdrawing 50% you are a little calmer, the rest by letting it go and if the guess is right it happens you are still profitable even with the remaining 50% because it is already quite big not if it goes up 30x or 50x.

ICP price was heavily manipulated by FTX and its downfall was pretty massive from its all-time high. But in terms of development they are still doing very well, and they have some unique products that will be really demanding in the upcoming bull season. Centralized storage can be a real headache for the whole crypto industry as the government can seize control of many crypto projects, so decentralized solution is the best solution for this problem. ICP is working with decentralized storage and there are very few top project that are doing the same thing.

ICP still has potential of reaching much higher numbers and IMO it would be better to hodl on for a while but at the same time if you want you may withdraw partial amount, Even in the past this coin was hyped to be the next big things and if you look at their ATH you would realise the potential it has before the bearish market and I don't suggest you to hodl until it breaks previous ATH but atleast some more profit.

ICP is working with decentralized storage and there are very few top project that are doing the same thing.

There are some projects that are working on the same idea, such as Filecoin, but they have not gained much momentum. I noticed that all the currencies associated with FTX have witnessed some momentum currently, such as SOL and ICP, which may be an indicator of a correction signal.
If positive developments occur, the price will decrease, and it will decrease if negative developments occur.

This is strictly your call to make, if you believe so much in the project I will advise you leave it till the peak of the bull run or better still you can remove your capital invested. But from the little I have read about the ICP the project is a solid one and has the potential of going far beyond the current market price.

To avoid too much risks, you can take out a percentage of what you have already earned as profit and let the remaining ones stay this way you were able to take some profit but you can still earn with ghe potential you think that is about to come but if it does not break its ATH then it would not hurt as much because you have already taken some profit

If it does increase more however you are going to hold on to your decision and not feel too bad for not holding all of your money in the investment
