This now triggered me to come ask here whether you cares about what people says or sees you as when gambling, I know there are people who don't know you from time or who doesn't believe that you are a gambler and if it happens that you came across such people and their reaction towards you goes other way round would you care about it or you just totally ignore them?

No, I wouldn't care, I just ignore them. there is no point caring for someone's opinion about you if they don't really know you. besides, people who love judging other people are usually hypocrites and are just projecting their insecurities towards others to make themselves feel good about themselves. I've had my fair share of people like the one you mention and one of the things I've learned about those kinds of people is that ignoring their opinion and not getting a reaction out of you Irritates them, which is funny(at least for me).

That's the thing with gamblers though, we are very emotional, I mean that is the very basic of how we lose, we sometimes goes to the length of using our emotions that we don't stop when we still have money in our pocket but instead go and try to win big. So maybe there are gamblers here who are still very emotional as far as hearing what others are saying behind their back. Sort of they don't want to have that social stigma in their neighborhood or society that he or she is identified as a gambler. Specially if there are stories that you losing big money in gambling.

And admit it or not, there are people who loves to gossip and talk about others specially if you did like a taboo against the society. And then they try to influence others too and make them believed that something is wrong with. Obviously, this will get us to be irritate with this kind of people around. But for me, I will just laugh it off and try not to be influence by them.

And this is the benefit of having a clear and reasonable mind so that we can distinguish everything that comes to us, people can do this, or I mean they can distinguish what is right and what is wrong but not everyone can admit that the actions they do are wrong and people say the truth about themselves. Not all gamblers realize that they have gone too far in their gambling involvement but for the problem of impact I think at least they must feel it like losing balance in finances.

But they can realize this if they can take a little time to meditate and really examine themselves about whether what they  are doing is benefiting them or making them miserable and in a lot of trouble. Good you've noticed how uncomfortable such people get if they gambler doesn't feel worried or bother about what they say regarding his habit. Most times such people also engage in other activities worse than gambling but point fingers on the gambler over his attitude. As adults, no need minding what people say or think about our actions. How we treat this type of people differs, depending on who they're to us. If it's a stranger, and he has some listening ears, about what I'd have to tell him, then discussing with the person would be my best take. Although, if they claim to know better, ignoring the person works best. In the case of a family member, removing their doubt is the best move. At least to reduce his thoughts that I'd get addicted and cause more harm to the family. Everyone is groomed uniquely and the way we solve our troubles wouldn't be similar. People must talk, our lapses would be having their wrong thoughts in mind.

Sometimes when a person I don't know begin to say all sort of things regarding my habit and how it could lead me to run out of money. I'd give them a response, like, do you think saving money is the best financial move? The person gets interested in the conversation, when I begin sharing few knowledge of mine why they shouldn't rely on savings alone. And for means to better their lives. Not saying that any gambler or the society is not capable of voicing his thoughts out to the hearing of a loved one, who is having a problem with gambling. The truth is, we need to respect one another in the society. Handling issues gradually, is the best means of reaching our to a healing points. As an adult,I don't think there is need for any body to control anybody.The age at which one can Gambles starts from 28,so the moment one gets to that age,everybody is aware that he has reached the age in which he can make decisions on honor own and nobody can hold her.So you saying we need to respect our family or listen to our family simply means you still have that childishness in you.A matured mind will do whatever he likes to do with his time and  nobody will question his decision except the person he is legally married to because he is going to be with that person for the rest of his life, therefore,there is need to have your principle and get yourself out of  what people will say about you or your family.

Apart from my wife, no one else knows that I play.

This is the result of two factors:
1st: I am a responsible player. My gaming moments always occur at home and never at work or in any public place. Imagine someone witnessing the moment I'm earning $1 million!? It will certainly be difficult for the person to "forget" about me and that is dangerous.
2nd: I don't reveal my gaming habits to family and friends (besides my wife). Very few people even know that I own cryptocurrencies, so why would I tell them that I practice gambling? This is unnecessary.

I don't see any problem with people who like to share this with others, but I believe that whoever does this should be aware of the security risks and also discriminatory comments.

When it comes to family talks then it would really be that always the main priority on which if someone does really experiencing some problems then it would really be just that normal
that as a member then you should really be that trying out to help to those who are at trouble. You cant really just that make yourself that seeing them on a tough situation.
This is why it would really be that best that you should really be wary on whats happening around specially in the family on which potential problems could really

The gambler should not skip any person opinion in the gambling,because every one will share their opinions based on the loss or winning.If the gambler was new to the field of gambling,he should ready to accept the words of the experienced gamblers.This was the only way to avoid of the gambler initially loss in the gambling.The gamblers who are get addicted to gambling will not accept the the advice from the experienced gambler or their friends.This was the bigger reason for the gambling addicted person to suffer a lot.The most of the gambling addiction cause due to the recovery of the old losses in the gambling site.

I like your tactic @ChiBitCTy, that's a nice counter for the judgmental people. As long as we are not stepping on someone else, we are not hurting anybody, and we are responsible enough that our family always has food on the table then I think we are good. Whatever they say, it won't matter to us because we know to ourselves that we are doing well and gambling is just part of our entertainment to avoid those gossipers. I mean, it's actually better, we are not outside doing nonsense or talking about other people, we stay at home in silence, we play our game, and we enjoy it.
You know what? I think they are just jealous that even if we stay at home we can still entertain ourselves, we don't need anything else, and yet outside it looks like we are too busy with something else.
Some people cannot swallow the fact that somebody is better than them which is why they will do everything in their mouthful power to undermine those types of people who are ignoring them.
I know it because I have neighbors who talk a lot, mostly the old women who think they are better or they just don't have anything else to do in their life that is why they are trying to pull down people using their gossip. That's why I don't share anything with anyone, it's scary because it's like a pandemic that would scatter fast.

Maybe I just play for fun and have it there and my bets don't affect my wallet because I can afford it. But people can say that I am an addict, which in reality is absolutely not true. These conversations do not give anything, it is better to concentrate on your own life, and not interfere in someone else’s. Surely those who speak may have more problems than we do, so there is no point in listening to them. There are those who are worried about this, just do what you want, but do not forget that in gambling you do not need to cross the red lines.

Yes, that's why I don't like spending time with people like that because it can cause misunderstandings. I'd better leave it and go home or join other friends who don't like talking about other people. There are people like that in our environment so we really need to keep our distance from them because that's what they are like. What I can say here is that gambling is not a crime, it is just a way of life, only that some people are doing it in an ugly way which is making people think that it is so bad. It is not bad itself if gambling is engaged correctly, the gambler will continue to enjoy it and get to even make money from it, but if they can't earn the money, they will still not lsoe much and will continue to try their luck if they need money from it which I do not advice in such in a way that will be linked to desperation. This can't be obvious to anybody until they see the gambling app on the gadget of the gambler or see them entering the gambling house.

Any which one, it is one's business and affair, it doesn't concern anybody or external people are less concerned about it. This standing of mine subsists as long as the gambler is responsible with his gambling, everybody can't have the same hobby or way of life, those who would complain about gambling, don't they have their own hobbies and their lives of interest in some things. We are the one who knows ourselves. Even doing gambling, we still know being a proper person and not doing crappy things around.

If these people say bad things about us because we do gamble, let them be. It's their freedom after all. But if things got worse because of their wrong statement about us, it's time now to confront these people and put some argument against them,

Without being told each and everyone of us knows that betting is not the type of business that in the one should glory about. Gambling is not a noble profession and it is not even a profession, it is unethical and in most societies it is prohibited. Having this in mind is what makes some gamblers pretend as if they do not gamble but in their secret places they do. If you look around your neighborhood you will also understand that there are people who have already useless themselves because of gambling. There are people who do not have single type of project year inn year out because of gambling and yet they work and earn. If you have also observant you will understand that there are some people who are very much addicted to gambling and they appear poor in the society. The number of the people who are disadvantaged by gambling is higher than the number of people who became successful through gambling. You therefore have no reasons to be sad if someone already categorized you as someone who is not going to be successful in the future because they saw you gambling. It is now at your own court to prove the people wrong by gambling with difference. Tell them that you are civilized and strive to be even better and not to become what they think of you. With such a criticism, it will serve as a watch word to you in case you are going extreme in gambling. In a nutshell, you need to consider what more than one person had said about you.

It is a difficult thing to not care what people say about us, they will continue to weaken mentally until dawn, I agree with you,  you are ignorant and don't care about what people say. this needs to be imitated and learned how to not care about what people say. I've tried, but I always think about what people say until I stop playing gambling a few years ago. That made me no longer excited to watch or sit on a bet chair. But, it's no longer, I finally decided to start again after my friend support me.
