Is www.crypto-comx.com legit? I tried to withdraw funds after 3 previous withdraws were confirmed and successful. Now that a friend transferred funds into my account on this platform, customer service rejected the last withdrawal and said I must pay a fine 2x the amount of the friends transfer so I must pay $30,972 to verify which will be in my USDT wallet and can be withdrawn once verified. It sounds like a scam but now they have my money locked to where I can't withdraw it. Anyone ever dealt with this site before or heard of this? I have reported them to the Securities and Exchange Commission to see if they can help.
Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

You're right, that's a scam. Having that requirement of being asked to pay 2x of the amount of withdrawal or your friends transfer sounds crazy, right? No one has probably dealt with this scam exchange and how did you ever have found it? Having that rule of able to withdraw but you must have to pay this fine xx amount is an absolute scam. The website was just made 2 months ago so that's no surprising that it's likely a scam website.

I still wonder how people like you ends up going with these websites. I don't think that you're shilling since you've mentioned it that it's likely a scam and most shillers will even encourage people to deposit. Right now, I think that "friend" of yours was just a random dude you've met online CMIIW.

I don't even need to open the website or research about it before knowing that this site is 99.9% a scam. Take a look at the domain itself — it looks like a web domain that someone just bought for $11(or less, on a promo lmao).

If you're planning on using a centralized exchange, just use the big ones that people use. There's literally no reason to use the small unknown ones.

Exchange only be used for exchanging your tokens, and users only pay a fee for their service. If they need more than that, other than a fee then probably it's a scam. Stay away from that kind of exchanges.

Before to use an exchange, always consider to do a research no matter how good the feature of the platform.

You can see the best and most used exchanges here in Coinmarketcap.

How often do you make an OP first and then ask? While we see you know about a forum where you can get advice and help,
Always check the sources, the time of the site's creation, its reputation, and customer reviews. Currently, the total virus detects the site as a phishing site; moreover, the fact that the site is quite new should cause suspicion. Also, I would never trust a website with an HTTP protocol.

Many people explore the internet in search of new ways to trade or exchange money, but unfortunately, some end up falling for scams or facing situations like this. It's pretty clear that this is a scam site, having been created just two months ago. Did you take the time to research the website before investing in it? Have you asked others about their experiences with the site? It seems challenging now, as they've structured their scam in a way that requires you to deposit twice the amount you want to withdraw. While reporting them might b a good idea worth trying, if there's no resolution, resist the temptation to deposit more money. It's a scam, and unfortunately, there might not be much help available at this point.

This is a new domain and it's an obvious scam if it asks for a fee just to withdraw your deposit amount most legit exchanges do not ask for a fee when depositing and withdrawing except for transaction fees.

I just tried to access the site based on the appearance it does not have any so much content inside only links to the app for Android and IOS is what you can see and the site logo inside is crypto.com which is far from their domain and crypto.com is a legit site. So it's obvious it's a phishing site I can't even able to click anything inside except for two links to the app it took me to the app but it looks like a fake app because it shows different review counts and ratings.

Is www.crypto-comx. com legit?
It's obviously a SCAM fake crypto.com website, and they are using fake android app for phishing attacks and to steal seed phrases from people.
Since it's very hard to do this in Apple store they added real link, and g00gle is to stupid to make a difference from original app  Tongue
It is insane to see this scam app have 29.7K reviews and similar rating...

Fake app:

Initially, when I saw the website link, I was like how could the op create an account on an exchange and deposit such a huge amount of money without doing some background checks to find out if it was legit. But seeing that the website is actually a clone of crypto.com, it's very possible he arrived at the website using a google search. Anyways, I really feel for him and I've reported the website to safebrowsing.com.

It was a common friend that I had with other Facebook friends that told me about the site after we had chatted for a bit. He introduced me to the site and told me how to setup a Cypto.com account, DeFi wallet and how to go this site inside the DeFi wallet to trade. He gave me step by step instructions. He never asked me to send him any money and there was no promotions to join or get coins for joining kind of thing. I started with a small amount to try to site out and made 3 different withdraws from the funds in the account to make sure they worked and it always worked. It seemed there was never an issue until he transferred funds from his account into mine and they said it flagged as money laundering and needed to verify by entering more funds so this is when it felt like something was up. I did research online but stuff was coming up about Crypto.com and all seemed fine. What an idiot I am. I had spoke to this friend every day for weeks before doing any trading. I have reported the site to the Securities and Exchange Commission and will be filing with FTC, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center next. I took screen shots of all the conversations with their customer support and also the person I have chatting with on Facebook.

Social media is the worst place to get friends or do business. All these platforms are grooming grounds for all kinds of scams and fraud.  Sorry for your loss but you don't have to trust anybody you interact with on the internet. The customer support you chatted with and your so-called friend is all fake. It is good you have contacted the relevant law enforcement agencies and I hope you will get the support you need. But you would have saved yourself all these stress and losses if you had asked this question in this forum before you decided to put in your money. Too bad that you have learned a lesson the hard way.

Your friend may have been defrauded by pyramid marketing, where advertisers receive a reward when they tell their friends about the project, and they may not be aware of it. before making any deposit, you must ensure that the service is legal, either by asking here or by searching on the site, as the lack of sufficient reviews, new registration date, and no talk about the service are all red indicators of the need to stay away from that service.

It was a common friend that I had with other Facebook friends that told me about the site after we had chatted for a bit. He introduced me to the site and told me how to setup a Cypto.com account, DeFi wallet and how to go this site inside the DeFi wallet to trade. He gave me step by step instructions.
This person basically directed you to the fake crypto.com website so that you would get scammed, scammers are everywhere on the internet and you should not chat with random people about stuffs like this, always DYOR and ask questions in crypto forums when you are not sure about something.
It seemed there was never an issue until he transferred funds from his account into mine and they said it flagged as money laundering and needed to verify by entering more funds so this is when it felt like something was up. I did research online but stuff was coming up about Crypto.com and all seemed fine.
If i understood you correctly, you haven't actually lost any money, and this friend (scammer) of yours sent you some money, in the hope that you fall for the bait and send the scammers some of your money in order to get what your "friend" sent. Having said that, what was your "friend" sending your money for? Did you send them anything in exchange for the payment? This will help other people learn from what exactly happened.

Never trust a stranger you meet online blindly. I'm sure the person who introduced you knows something about the fake exchange. He's part of the scheme, you'd think they'll unfreeze your account when you make the deposit, but the moment you do that, you'll be kissing goodbye to your fund. Their end goal is to deceive unsuspecting users to make deposit that they won't be able to withdraw. Another bonus point is to subject them to KYC, after which their data will be harvested and sold on the dark web.

It's quite surprising that the OP hasn't noticed the fake clone site of crypto dot com. They even haven't changed their name or logo. So at first sight, it should be detected as a scam site. I suspect you may promote this site based on allegations. I may be wrong, but I am disappointed with you. How did you miss the site and what they wrote in the domain and title? The domain name itself looks scammy; when you enter the site, you should clearly know it is a scam. The site name and domain name are totally different. The scammer is likely more stupid than you. They even can't spoof the site and domain perfectly.

Obviously, it's a scam and do not pay anything as that's where the scam is, as once you pay, this website will suddenly disappear, if not, they won't give your money back. Any site that will ask you to deposit more is a scam, so everyone needs to be very careful and not fall for it and be greedy thinking that you have a lot of money that you can withdraw because this scammers are playing with your psychology.

Not sure if the SEC will react though, but what this scammers will do if there websites or platforms are shutdown, they will just go and create a new one, rinse and repeat. So hopefully this is a lesson not just to the OP but for every member of the community.

It is obvious that you have been scammed. No exchange will tell you to deposit such an amount of money you already have in your account to validate your account for withdrawal. It is not done anywhere. Your KYC should stand as a reference to that in validating your withdrawal.

As a newbie you would not be able to detect the scam that was why it happened this way. No exchange does that to request for a deposit of the amount you want to withdraw.it is a scam and your funds are gone.

What’s SEC going to do about it? They can’t get your money back. I have seen lots of newbies make the wrong investments and desperately try to get back what they lost, only to fall back into the hands of scammers who disguise as Bitcoin recovery experts. You made a big mistake investing in a platform without doing any research. It wouldn’t hurt to ask about the legitimacy of a platform before risking your money.

Some of the comments about being stupid and nothing but degrading someone is not what this platform is for or why I posted in this platform. I only found this platform searching for more information about scams as I felt like I was being scammed so that is why I just posted recently after the fact. This forum never showed when I was looking up the site originally to see if it was legit.

Back to the issue. Someone mentioned that I have not lost any of my own money since the "friend" transferred money into the DeFi wallet that I created. I did put $10k of my own money in to start to see how the platform worked and to see if what the guy was telling me was true with the trades and withdraws. The trades went through as he said they would and I was able to withdraw funds like he said I could so after that worked and I had my funds that I withdrew in my bank account, I fell victim of trusting the site and invested more of my own money ($60k more) over the past few weeks to be able to trade at a higher lever. Then the "friend" said if I can get up to $100k my earning potential would increase from 10% to 22% because at $100k I can complete short-term trades for 90 seconds with a 22% return if the trade ends in my favor compared to 10% if trading with less than $100k in exchange wallet. That is when he offered to loan me $15k if I could come up with the other to get to the $100k. Once he did that and we did a few more trades, I attempted to withdraw funds out again and that is when it failed. After a few attempts to withdraw and it failing (I thought I was doing something incorrectly on the withdraw request) I chatted into their customer support option and they informed me my account was locked from making withdraws because of the money he sent was from a different recharging account than my own and that is what made my account flag for possible fraud/money laundering. That is when I became skeptical again and felt like this was a scam. I am not familiar with all of these platforms, bitcoin, crypto trading or any of this kind of stuff so I am definitely an idiot when it comes to how to work or tell if a site is a spoof site. I assumed since the transactions were going through both recharging the accounts and mainly the withdrawals from the www.crypto-comx.com URL into my DeFi wallet that the site was legit. The Crypto and Crypto DeFi wallet are the true actual legit apps as I checked many times before starting any of this. You would think that if I had to transfer money to the www.crypto-comx.com site through the DeFi wallet and then that is also how the money is withdrawn, it would have flagged something with the DeFi platform if the site it was coming from was a scam site. How do you even see when a site was created? I seen a couple of y'all mentioned the site was created on November of 2023. That is not listed anywhere on the site when I go there so how did you find that information?

You cannot blame anyone for your mistakes. Its a scam site no doubt but its a scam site with thousands of reviews you should definitely read the reviews before you sign up for an account.
You should never withdraw three times in a row from an unverified scam site. Because scam sites initially give withdrawals to attract the attention of customers, then after withdrawing large amounts, they scam those large amounts. If Bitcoin is legalized in your country, you can seek help under the law.
