Why was the gambling risk warning removed?

On the first or second of January 2024, I saw a gambling risk warning on the gambling boards which was about how gambling is risky and how people should gamble responsibly. I said to myself that this is good and an improvement to the gambling boards. But when I was reading some gambling posts as I am not yet ready to post anything, I want to read the warning again but I did not see it. Why is the warning removed?

This sounds somehow funny though but notwithstanding, whether they remove the gambling risk warning or not you as a gambler already know that gambling is associated with too many risks thereby you ought to gamble with caution so for them removing the warning doesn't necessarily change anything as people that will gamble responsibly will do while the ones that won't also follow the warning will not also do so it's dependent how the gambler chooses to play be it in a responsible manner or not after all it's his money he's gambling with so it's his choice on how to play his gamble.

In what form do you mean the warning?
I still see this gambling board description in place

Gambling and all "investments" that are so risky they might as well be gambling (HYIPs, pyramid schemes, etc.)

Probably OP meant about a sticky thread but I don't see any sticky thread about risk of Gambling.

Cadaver20 could miss that sticky thread or that sticky thread has never existed and OP remembered about something different.

With Factoids, only one result if you search with risk or risky and it is about mining, not gambling. No result if you search with Gambling.

The gambling board is one of the most active ones on the forum and threads move down there or four pages within hours, while this could be a period of 2-3 days.

Did you search for the thread by name or just scanned for it on the first few pages?

I have never seen any warning attached to the top of the gambling boards like there is with the Securities and Investments board, in fact I don't remember seeing one at all. Are you sure you saw the warning above the topic OP? Can you remember what it said, specifically?

Nevertheless, this is something that can be solved by adding a sticky to the Gambling board. It does not necessarily need special text at the top.

It hasn't disappeared and no one has removed it. This warning appears only in the "Investor-based games" section and only if you go to any topic in this section.

Unless theymos was experimenting with something I don't believe there's ever been a warning there other than in Investor-based games.

I know what you're talking OP, but I haven't seen such warning displayed in recent days. Maybe it was displayedfor short time and I wasn't online then. But I think that it would be good to have such warning, in past I already posted about it several times.

If everyone would know risk of gambling, then wewouldn't have problems like gambling addiction and so many lifes ruined because someone lost all his money. I don't know how much these warnings really works, but at least it doesn't harms. Gamblin ads that you can see on TV usually have warning that you should play, cigarette packs also is full of warnings of what harm it makes.

Not everyone is aware of the risks associated with gambling; this is why many people continue to fall into the trap of gambling, and one thing about gambling is that once your blood is addicted to it, stopping it will be very tough; you will simply be losing your money with no gain. Nowadays, I understand that people who lose in gambling outnumber those who win, but because some believe it's a method for some to survive, we shouldn't criticize them..

Or it is possible that Op was talking about the warning of some gambling thread where the thread creators are scammers and their flag has enough support which might be the reason for a red warning. But, I guess OP spends enough time on the forum to understand this is the warning for newbies and it disappears after a certain period.

I also do not remember seeing any warnings other than those mentioned warnings on this thread. It would be helpful if shared more information about what he was talking about.

I highly doubt that would be the case. OP must have been around for a considerable length of time to be able to decipher just what that is.
The closest to what would have been is as explained by Xal0lex on the Investor Based Games sub board of the gambling board.
It’s very easy to come by this confusion with the fact that, we’ve had a news field flagged up lately and upon seeing such update with the gambling board for the first time, one could easily note the change and assume it to be some new order to the board while forgetting to note where and how as explained.
You easily get to leave the sub board and give the attribute to the whole gambling board.

In any case, I was as well surprised by the development and I don’t see it to be a bad one just that, I’ve never had to encounter such warning in the gambling discussion or just gambling board as the investor based game sub board haven’t been a place I frequent.

Maybe it's something placed there to warn people and advise them also on ways to get gambling ndone the appropriate ways with  manners, it's just maybe a little way of expressing their heartfelt as a compliment of the season to all gamblers to ensure they are gambling responsibly, you could discover the similar update on top of the menu bar close to the home button where the mixers warning was displayed for days before it was finally not allowed again on the forum, so it's just like a flash highlight on gambling section to every gamblers to do it the proper way, my take although.

I believe Xal0lex has given you a best answer and it's better to lock this thread now so that no more replies or posts can be created here. I have confirmed the warning myself and it's present on the investor-based games child board but you'll only see this warning if you open any topic in that board without clicking on a topic on that board you won't see any such warnings. I never knew about that warning myself but I have tested it after reading the post of the Xal0lex and I believe that post solved the issue of this thread.
