If it's just one spin, then sure why not? If it would be multiple spins until I hit the jackpot then I'll probably pass. I might not have enough courage to do that. $50 is a 6 day worth of food for my family and I won't risk that kind of money just for one bet. Although that's really a cool amount to win, I don't think I am brave enough to take the risk. Playing slots, I just use the minimum as always which is $0.1, or with other games $0.01. Even on that small amount I am already stressed enough when I am on a losing streak. What's more with just one bet all in, I don't think my mind could take it, I might go crazy when I lose.

If I can afford it, and don't mind losing $50 why not. after all, the rewards provided are many times the capital we spend per bet. the point is, we have to be willing and sincere if we lose $50 in just one spin. as you said, the problem is that getting a reward or jackpot from this round is very small. Yes, if I am feeling lucky. The guy in this story could have been feeling lucky on that day. $50 may not  be his regular bet amount. It could have been 5% of $50. No one can tell. I think that's depends on the type of gambler you are, I say this because in my years of gambling and experience I have come to notice that some gambler are of different league than others meaning they actually have the mind and courage to take some stupid risk that any normal gambler won't. The truth is that I fear anything casino-related and I think twice before engaging them.
