I don’t know where you got this assertion from but they are wrong. To begin with the value of bitcoin doesn’t decreases but rather its price reduces and 2022 wasn’t the year it started. Secondly the overall price of bitcoin in 2023 did increase from around $16k to around $40k plus that’s around 160% pump so i don’t see last year as a bad one for bitcoin price. In 2024 we expect a better price increase than 2023 because of the much anticipated bitcoin halving.

It is true that 2022 was bearish for bitcoin, but opposite was the case in 2023 becuase the price of bitcoin at the beginning of 2023 was $16500 but ended with almost $45000. Which means 2023 was a bull run year.

Bitcoin has always been superior. But if you mean that bitcoin will increase more in 2024? Just hold and not sell, bitcoin price did increased after halving in the past. If spot bitcoin ETF is approved by United States SEC, this can also be positive for bitcoin.

2023 is much worse? As you can see from the chart after the bearish trend in year 2022 November it started to recover in year 2023.
This month it reached $45,001 marking a new all-time high(ATH) from 2023 to 2024.
This means it's already recovered from the bearing market and I believe this is not the final price point we will see a huge price surge after the upcoming event(block halving), similar to historical trends every after the block halving event.

If you go through the bitcoin history, there you will found out that there's a lot to learn and know from it, check their previous performances, both high and low, make comparison on time intervals for each year rise and fall and see for yourself how Bitcoin has been wonderfully performing, if we have dip doesn't mean that the market is not going to rise again for our own profitability.

I definitely agree with your comment.

With the BTC halving happening around April 26, 2024, expect its price to significantly increase in the market. Miners will definitely receive half of what they can currently mine which thereby increases the general price of BTC in the market. In fact, there are some threads that are speculating that the price of BTC may even reach $400,000 by the time the halving happens ¹ but still, there can be no accurate forecast on this.

With this information, it is now definitely recommended to HODL your coins in order to take advantage of the coming halving. For BTC's current state this 2024, I really expect its price to increase which is definitely a win-win situation for everyone.

2024 was a better year for Bitcoin as we have seen more than 150% increase in the price of Bitcoin hence not sure why are you referring to 2023 as a much worse year because it doesn't make sense. As far as 2024 is concerned we have entered new year with positive notes with just one dip we have seen so far and hope this year would be better but I think this year we should accumulate Bitcoin until we finally enter the bull run. Unless some weird things happen, everything should grow in favor of Bitcoin. The infrastructure, the user base, the number of parties watching Bitcoin closely, the number of people familiarizing themselves with Bitcoin, the number of countries legalizing it, the wallets generated and many other things that would all be supportive of the Bitcoin network. This does not mean the price can't drop, it can as we have seen several times before. Despite overall growth of many of the important metrics, the price can do its own thing, but I think only temporarily. In the long run metrics will align with each other, price included.

in one interview, they are saying that we could have the supercycle finally which in the 4 year cycle, 3 years could be an uptrend and one will be a downtrend. it could mean we will have bears in 2026 and then bulls again in 2027 til another halving.

Bitcoin did not continue falling from 2022 to 2023. In the year 2023, we ended the year with a very good percentage increase in bitcoin, so bitcoin price was not even close to worse as of last year. Bitcoin is already recovering since last year, so I don’t think of any slow recovering this year but rather a more rapid growth for it that will be faster than that of last year. A lot of good happenings will occur in the market this year as many speculators have envision how the market will farewell this year.

My thought is that I think you have missed a lot of things for the past years but that's fine if you're still new. 2024 isn't actually the year of recovery but if you count that as is because we've fallen from $69k which was reached on 2021 and we're $44k by this time.

So, there's still a need to move and recover if that's what you think to be reached and be back there. But honestly, the market is good as of this time and it will become better after halving, etf rumors, etc.

I am also surprised when @OP states that the year 2023 is worse than 2022, but the fact that Bitcoin prices skyrocketed at the end of 2023 making the down turns on its early years of 2023 nullified by the gain before the year ended.  Anyway, I think @OP is just confused.

I have a good feeling that this year, Bitcoin will uptrend more.  There is this hype of Spot ETF, and the Bitcoin halving that can maximize the effect on bullish sentiment caused by the positive rumor about  Bitcoin ETF.  I am expecting a more bullish Bitcoin this year.

Bitcoin's value was dropped because of the bad events that took place in the world and in the crypto-world in 2022 and in the start of 2023 Bitcoin was below $17k but by the end of 2023 Bitcoin was already trading over $44k and I believe that Bitcoin's price will be increased in this year 2024.

Bitcoin is fully decentralized so for now there is no reason to think about the future of Bitcoin because I have seen the bloody market of Bitcoin where Bitcoin was like 16000 in November 2022 but now Bitcoin is around $43000. So no matter how many negative updates come about Bitcoin in the market, I am sure the future of Bitcoin will be positive. I believe that after the next halving Bitcoin will definitely break all the previous records and the only investment in my future plans will be Bitcoin only.
