Does anyone know how to SSH into the miners? I tried with Hydra but no luck, only thing I can say is that it isn't a 4 digit alphnumeric password.

I can't have devices in my local network that won't let me fully control them.

Same here. Popped in here to see what’s up after checking the mail. I had no idea they were sending these out but it was a nice surprise. I had some heat issues initially but removing the magnetic cover seemed to solve it. I’m curious now how loud this fan will be. Will report back when I get some time to mess around with it.

Edit: I guess my question is, what good is this fan? There’s no USB plug in on the power supply or miner. This also doesn’t seem like a good fit anywhere.

Hi,

I received my 2 Nano 3 yesterday.

What wallets are people sending to?

I have a Ledger set up with my btc on it, and I have a Crypto dot com, and Binance accounts.

Will any of them work? And if not, which wallet should I use with the nano?

Thanks.

One does not mine to a wallet - you mine to a pool or more technically correct, a node that is linked to payout to your wallet address. It works with any valid pool. Kano.is, ViaBTC, Antpool etc...

All these wallets work fine. Before payout at Braiins pool i.e. beware the fees first. You need to have a certain amount to transfer them with low fee.

If you want to SSH into the miner. User is: nano and Password is: nano as well.
Unfortunately the device has 2 accounts: admin and nano and I can't find out the password for the admin account.
Canaan support is trying to convince me that there was no SSH on those units which is obviously wrong.
If anyone knows the admin password, please let the other kids know. Thank you.

seriously WOW , that seems like a HUGE amount of effort to
get these things going

trying to think it through .... the nano sets itself up as a mini router with wifi
signal , the app says join that router so you can tell us main internet password for us to use

if my case the connection between that nano 3 mini router and the phone app connection
is failing , cmon there must be a simle reason rather than having to reflash the whole chip Huh

wow on earth did they not just use bluetooth for the connection :-)

Ok regarding the above issue

192.168.168.168

this was resolved with the help of cochno on the community forum of
kano pool , the best BITCOIN pool on earth :-) ...you can pool or solo mine there !
bring your Th to play on kano.is ... but its BTC only , no alts

the key is getting to the webgui , where you can enter the wifi details of the wifi network you want to join

So if your stuck using the avalon phone app , try getting to the web GUI of 192.168.168.168

if you simply type 192.168.168.168  into google it treats it as a search , so enter http:// 192.168.168.168
or https:// 192.168.168.168 or even better use safari or edge , you can try this on your phone but its easier on
a laptop

this should bring up a webpage that you can enter your house broadband details to connect

this will then change the IP , you can use this to enter into phone app or even better laptop , this allows you
to enter the webGUI which allows you to change mining details , i read somewhere these units are
tied to braiins they are not they are default brains but you can enter and change to your chosen pool

great after 3 days to finally have these up and running , thanks KANO team

I just found out I can update the firmware through the Remote Avalon app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.canaan.avalon).

What surprised me is the following: when I add the device based on IP, it just connects to the machine, even though I have put in a password on the web app. I get immediate access to the machine, can update the firmware and change all the details, including miner configuration. How can the app access this, without ever putting in the password?

The behaviour is the same after the firmware upgrade to 24071801_42c628d. I do get a warning in the app that I should change the password, which I did a long time ago, when I got the device. If I want to change the password, I do need the previously set password, but nothing in this behaviour changes. The app just has access to the device, password or not. To be clear, I do need my password to get into the web UI.

Secondly, after a few weeks of uptime, the machine goes into a high fan noise sequence with a terrible hashrate, maybe 1/10th of normal operation. The fan can be heard spinning up to full speed for a while and then spinning down again, with way more noise than normally. After a reboot it's fine again, so it doesn't look like an overheating scenario. We're going into winter here, so ambient temp is actually getting lower.

My guess is that Canaan just simply doesn't care. User Interface of this device has lot's of problems. In all these months they just released a single firmware, no improvement at all.

It sounds like your miner might be underpowered. Check your power supply to ensure it can handle the high hash rate. Also, consider updating the firmware or checking for overheating issues. If problems persist, try a factory reset
