Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

person to person is best. if you can find someone close to you who is selling, buy for cash.
localbitcoins.com - you should be able to find someone nearby.

Localbitcoins.com but prices are little bit higher than exchange sites like bitstamp.
However you can get bitcoins quickly. (Choose seller with good feedback)
