Outperform in what way? If the metric is about price then I guess it's just about demand. Is the service priced on the native token and valued based on their USD equivalent? I think that's one thing that should be considered here. Decentralized storages could be charging more if the coin's value in USD increases.
The reason is demands.
Now the question comparing to (Google) and other service do people know about (Filecoin) service ?
I was comparing the costs of adding megabytes to the Bitcoin blockchain, which is very expensive, but the amount is very low compared to centralized services, so why don’t centralized services follow a technology similar to filecon?
The chart surprised me at the first look but I think there are other consideration to make before making a decision.
Speed and uptime on the centralized service might be much different from the decentralized option. I have never used such decentralized service yet, just my guess.
And for long term storage which doesn't need quick access, Amazon glacier deep archive goes as low a $1/TB. The pricing here are for instant service like the one offered by google drive and dropbox. I'd too like to know the reviews from ones that have. I might even try filecoin myself considering the price. Hope the rates are for long term.
charts encouraged me to try it. I was waiting for the experience of users here about the price, efficiency, and possibility of accessing files after years, since even Google does not guarantee you files for dozens of years.
In my opinion, the reason is that the price of decentralized storage may be lower due to the efficient use of resources, the absence of intermediaries and competition. In addition, transparency and security contribute. These factors reduce costs and make decentralized storage more accessible to users.
If the upload speed, download speed, and access to data without delay are reasonable, I will choose them. Reliability is the most important thing in cloud storage, ease of access and then price.
