What I think about this is that it is not always about addiction that makes a gambler gambling with all the money he has left with nothing before they can stop and go home. Some persons just have that feeling of using the last cash at hand to try their luck and it's funny at times (not most of the times) that the last cash trial could just be a saving grace for the gambler making a winning that puts him in recovery feat.

We cannot stop because our minds tell us those things. One more. The last one. Maybe I will win in 10 more bets. Why? Because people hate losing and that's why we won't stop especially if we are on the losing side where a big chunk of our capital was wasted and we have not seen any moment of a winning streak.
