I have 2 of Coin Vigilante's watches and love them.  I Just found out they are making a special edition for the Halvening:

https://www.coinvigilante.com/

https://www.coinvigilante.com/products/new-watch-pre-order

Interesting design, figured I would share.

What do you mean? Price is §499 with §250 deposit.
My issue would be "Designed in the US" which actually means "Made in China" with §70 movement.

They don’t tell you the full cost?

Hello,

First time I see those watches...
Design is great.

How about the quality? Is the manufacturer trusted here? Do you have any good quality picture of one of your watch to check the quality?

And last question: why can't we pay with Bitcoin? I might be interested to buy 1 or 2 watches but wanna pay in Bitcoin.

Thank you.

I have 2 of their other watches, I will post pictures shortly.  Quality is great, I have no complaints at all.

I did see on the website they accept Bitcoin.  I recommend reaching out via Twitter or email, he has been great communicating with me in the past.  I kept in touch asking about this watch, etc.

Wow I really like these and the idea of a "Watch" celebrating the Bitcoin Halving is great
and limited edition is a bonus.

Funnily I thought by the title that it was a Watch timing the halving itself difficult to do I know

@markinaz would be interested to see your existing watches, have the designs changed or are
they that same but with a different block height engraved?

I have to find the other one, but here is the one I wear the most (favorite design).  It has a real leather band, not much wear on it.   I believe it is a sapphire glass, as there are no scratches at all.  It also comes in a nice box!

I also wanted to say that I have no affiliation with them at all.  I just liked the quality and design of the watch and wanted to share with the group.   I have no referral codes... lol

I reached out to him via Twitter regarding some of the comments and here is his response:

As to the quality and where it is manufactured:   "The watches are indeed designed in the US, the automatic/mechanical movement is not Chinese, it is a SEIKO Japanese movement. Yes, some parts of the assembly is from China, however most don’t realize most brands have at least some of the assembly done in China, and there is nothing wrong with that, just like Apple iPhones are assembled in China and some manufacturing is done there."

Also on the price/quality:   " as far as quality, we use very high quality materials and movements, Stainless Steel 316l case, sapphire crystal, SEIKO movement, and include 2 year warranty."

If you have any questions or comments, definitely reach out to him via Twitter:

https://twitter.com/coin_vigilante

It looks like they started with Kickstarter a while back and was successful.

Hello guys, this is Carlos Estrada, founder of Coin Vigilante Bitcoin watches being discussed here. I was made aware of the conversation and I wanted to hop in here to answer any questions and let you know about our biggest release yet! For background, our goal is to create timepieces that represent the importance and elegance of sound money. For every person who wears these watches, there is someone representing Bitcoin wherever they go. Currently our watches are worn in over 40 countries, we have a 2 year warranty, and our watches are made of high quality materials - stainless steel 316 L, sapphire glass (new editions)… we recently launched our biggest release yet featuring an impeccable design: the Bitcoin Halving 2024 watch. Here’s what you need to know.

The Bitcoin Halving 2024 watch is a very special release to me…

We created it to celebrate and remember the iconic halving - when the reward for Bitcoin mining cuts in half every 4 years

This mechanism built into Bitcoin counteracts inflation and provides scarcity. A system that helps protect the purchasing power of people, unlike fiat currencies which print money out of thin air, devaluing the purchasing power of those who own fiat through inflation.

Bitcoin’s halving makes it scarce and inflation-resistant!

This is what the world NEEDS!

The Bitcoin Halving Watch was created to represent the importance of this and celebrate this moment. This specific 2024 halving watch will never be made again (“scarcity” aspect). New halving editions will be created and released only every 4 years.

Not only is this design completely new, but  it also features the Bitcoin logo in impeccable ways, such as the skeleton dial and the Bitcoin orange second hand.

This watch is also automatic/mechanical with a see through dial AND caseback - “Proof-of-work” 😉

Throughout the watch you’ll see amazing details such as the “BLOCK HEIGHT: 840,000” engraved on the case - this engraving marks the block at which the halving will take place - a historic block for Bitcoin to remember everywhere you go.

There are many other details and designs in the watch for you to discover yourself.

It is currently available for pre-orders to everyone! Those who pre order their watch within the next two weeks will secure their watch and get in line to receive them in April!

I hope you participate and purchase a watch, as we have worked hard to make this happen and introduce this very special and extremely limited timepiece. 👇🏽

Im not a watch guy either but if I were I’d definitely have to own something like this. While it might not be as big of a flex as those watches with the Casascius coins on the dial (I might have to get one someday) it is still cool that such professional products are becoming commonplace with Bitcoin branding. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely! We’ve accepted Bitcoin since we first started our company. For odd reasons our pre-order system does not support Bitcoin payments so we have to due process your order manually. Can you email me here to set it up: carlos@vigilantewatches.com

Thank you!

Cool looking looking watch with Patek Nautilus homage design and Seiko nh70 automatic movement, but dial is unique with bitcoin symbol and hand.
Similar cases can easily be ordered from China much cheaper but it would be much harder to make inside look the same.
I am not sure I would pay €465,95 for this pre-order, and I can't find option to pay with Bitcoin.

I agree completely on the similarities... Here is a knock off that I bought during my last trip to Asia:

I agree a bit about the costs, but I imagine small production runs have a higher overhead then mass production (I experienced this with the poker chip project).  Obviously my knockoff was well under $500 and I am impressed with the quality, so I look forward to what Carlos is offering.

Tell us how to pay with Bitcoin and/or other cryptocurrencies?
And is there a way to make small modifications (initials or color change) when watch is pre-ordered?

I would prefer to have some unique shape instead of same old style, but it's not so easy to do that.
Note for everyone who purchase this watch... don't go swimming with it and testing those 5Bars Wink

Hi! To clarify on this post, some people have mentioned that it is exact to the Patek Nautilus, when in fact there are very clear differences between the case of our watch and Patek’s, from the shape, to the edges, angles, thickness of the case, and even the crown. See differences here:

You are correct to say that the dial and design is unique, as it features a skeleton design of the Bitcoin logo as well as the small detail of the Bitcoin orange hand.

As far as payment with Bitcoin, we have accepted Bitcoin directly for payment since day 1 of starting our company, if you scroll down to the bottom of the product page for the Halving Watch, you’ll see where we state that our pre-order platform that we are using does not support various payments methods except credit card. If you choose to pay with Bitcoin email us at carlos@vigilantewatches.com so we can create a manual order for you and accept Bitcoin directly!

I am happy to hear that some of you are interested in this and have questions, I am always glad to keep answering and discussing more! Long live Bitcoin!
