I'm asking my self the same question since 2 weeks, meanwhile I used the "Banned Mixer"(Cry p to Mixer) without any issues.

It is true that mixing services have been banned here, but there are other ways to enhance your privacy, especially since some mixing addresses have been banned by OFAC.

It depends on the service, they are banned here so the chance of them scamming you is greater but if you trust them then it is up to you.

OP I believe you have been able to go through the posts here by reputable members and I must say all they have said here are very much accurate and I see some links here provided so you could further as k questions or see for yourself where you can get mixers but you will have to do your own diligence for the mixers that best suits your requirements.

In that case allow me to report that I have used Anonymixer and Whir successfully. I preferred Whir due to lower costs (a straight 1% across the board and cleaner, easier to use format}. I of course sent smaller amounts through before I trusted them with larger amounts.

You see, what you just wrote can already be considered as a form of promoting a mixer. You directly imply which service is better, so it seems like your recommendation, and I think that the administrator's intention with the ban was to prevent such things.
Maybe it's better to edit the post yourself and avoid a potential ban on your account.

Another guy says don't talk about mixers at all but has a link to a wallet with a built in mixer in his avi and signature.

The next guy is talking through google translate? But he seems to be pretty sure I'll be banned for even thinking about mixers.

Its all very confusing especially since the purpose of bitcoin is private, peer to peer payments outside of government control.

Well I'll agree to disagree with you on that point. I don't believe it goes against the rules to bring up or talk about mixers in other situations.  My take is that the admin was only trying to stop people from promoting mixers, not from merely referencing them and  seems to me if they wanted to completely ban any mixer chatter at all theyd have spelled that out clearly in what they posted. 

I could be off base here, but that's how I'm reading things.  I don't think we need to interpret the instructions so strictly as to prohibit any and all mixer discussion.

Just read for yourself what the admin published, you will understand everything:

Starting Jan 1, 2024:

 - Promoting mixers in signatures, avatars, and profile-bios are not allowed.
 - It's not allowed for mixers to do giveaways, sponsorships, bounties, paid posts, or paid ads in posts. If a thread is for paying people to do something for a mixer, then that's also not allowed. †
 - Mixer URLs will be automatically wordfiltered out, but you can still discuss mixers otherwise. Using link-shorteners or other obfuscation techniques in order to post URLs which would otherwise be wordfiltered is not allowed.

You may not have to use anyone that has any connections to this forum because they may not respond to you anymore here about their service, however, you can make any discussion that deals with them on the other forum called altcoinstalks.com where they are making their promotions now and there also you can get there announcement thread as well, no one will recommend or discuss anything about mixers to you here anymore, they are banned from Bitcointalk.

Hey buddy's, you both should calm yourself down. There is just a little misunderstanding here. The thing is, the mixer ban confuses a lot of us, and if you don't read through the thread and comments of other users regarding the issue and how the admin was able to identify what could be used and what should not be used with respect to the ban,.
 
So in here, the forum still allows the discussion of mixers, but there is no direct or indirect promotion of them and no link to any mixer. You can just talk a little about how mixing works or you can direct the person to where they can get the right information. I think you both are right, just that there are some misuse of words that lead to both of you misunderstanding yourself.

The new rule says you still can discuss mixers as long as you dont post direct links.  And using link shorteners to hide mixer URLs is prohibited too.  So I think we should be able to talk about them as long as we keep it conversational.  Because they can be useful tools for community if used right.

However, there are a couple things that not allowed when it comes to mixers.  You cant do giveaways, sponsorships, bounties, or any kind of paid posts or ads in your threads. And promoting mixers in signatures, avatars, and your profile is prohibited too.

You are very correct mate, the forum still allows for discussion as there are no rules against it though but I think if one decides to talk about it, it is  their own personal business not mine but I was only trying to make emphasis of one being careful. Although there is freedom of information and speech here as to what people converse on. As of the argument on promoting and advertising mixers, it is prohibited and I think that is the major thing we should all know.
