E get one of my brother wey just start to dey drink recently so I ask am say why all of a sudden he won turn himself to a drunkard, he say na because say him dey depressed.
What to do when you are depressed or worried about something

1: seek Help: There is a popular saying that goes like this"a closed mouth is a closed destiny" Talk to someone you trust, it could be a family member, friend or even a therapist to help guide you. Talking to someone go help relieve some worries you were having and solution can come from there .

2: Get yourself busy with what you love doing. If it is exercise, watching a movie, Listening to music, reading books, or even cooking. This will take your mind off that worries and you won't endanger yourself in the process.

3: Eat better food: if you no eat because you are worried, e go add more to the depression you are already experiencing which will mess with you mental health and affect your overall well being.

4: Reflect on your little achievement and small wins in life; this will bring a little joy to you at that moment

5: Avoid Alcohol and Drug, this one go worsen your case because if you come get addicted to them, it will hard for you to get out of it and that's like double wahala for you.

6: Even in your worries, try get better sleep, e go help your mood and also your mental health.

7: Learn how to meditate: meditation is simply having a deep thought. You can meditate on the word of God or any thing you believe in.

I know it's not easy to do any of these when one is facing difficulty but you will still have to help yourself to get out of that situation and hopefully this helps. What do you do when you are depressed?

The truth that many people do not know is that alcohol does not cure depression but only postpone it. To cure depression through alcohol, you need to be constantly drunk else anytime your eyes clear, the pains and everything that got you depress will return with full force.

In our world today and especially our country where a lot of people are becoming depressed due to present economic realities, it is very important one take care of his mental health above anything else. To achieve this, planning is very important because through proper planning, the limited funds can be allocated to important things first and not frivolities.

What to do when you are depressed or worried about something
1: seek Help: There is a popular saying that goes like this"a closed mouth is a closed destiny" Talk to someone you trust, it could be a family member, friend or even a therapist to help guide you. Talking to someone go help relieve some worries you were having and solution can come from there .
This aspect is being neglected by many people as people are so conservative these days under the inglorious saying "minding their business". I called it inglorious because nothing decides the society than lack of socialisation,  communication and synergy.  A lot of people will never talk to anyone about their ordeals, they prefer dying in silence.

When you are depressed and you think drinking alcohol and smoking is the only thing which you can do which will give you solution to you problem, but to be honest, alcohol and smoking can only make you forget your problems for just a short period of time, when you are high, you go forget your problem for that particular time, but if your eye don clear finish, you will go back to face your problems. If you are having a problem, dem make u just find permanent solution, but alcohol no be solution to depression, you just adding to your problems.

5: Avoid Alcohol and Drug, this one go worsen your case because if you come get addicted to them, it will hard for you to get out of it and that's like double wahala for you.
If you get problem, no even go close to drugs or alcohol, because you are not finding solutions to your problems, u just dey kill yourself. If something dey do u and you later find solution to Wetin dey do you, drugs wey u don do during that problem, e fit don cause harm to ur body again. Drugs no be solution to problem ooo.

Problem no dey finish oo, and from there na so person fit just get depression wey fit even end em life. E never Tay wey dem post for this forum say one bank marketer drink otapiapia die for the bank toilet just because she dey very depressed at that moment. To many persons she wey dey work for bank, na very good job. But we nor know the kind of pressure wey she been dey face. But nothing reach for this world wey go make you carry your own hand kill yourself.
For me oo, most times when I dey feel depressed, I go just carry my headphone, plug for my phone then start to dey play Gospel music. E dey really help me calm, or I go just start to play keyboard. This na the two things wey dey help me escape from depression. To stay for that mood Tay, nor dey good oo, because terrible ideas go just dey enter your head.

Depression na mental disorder wey alcohol no fit solve.Depression don make many people indulge for the act of drinking alcohol, cause harm to their body(Self harm)just to satisfy depression.Medically, depression neva get cure,e only get ways to navigate am.One way to navigate depression na the word of God, Jesus say make we cast our burden give am,say him care for us.So that one sef na word of encouragement for the believers.How we fit cast our burden (depression, anxiety, worries,fears) give Jesus??Na only through prayer and studying the word of God.Another way na to meet people wey we fit share our problems with because them say a problem shared is a problem solved,seek advice from elders,catch cruise etc.

One thing about depression he get stages ohh, and this depression of a thing nor nice at all I know say as human we duh experience am wells due to certain cases. This same depression duh take alot if lives even most celeb death is due to depression some cannot even handle fame,
So people that always get depressed I will advice you to go and meet someone with good experience must not be a therapist it's can be someone that's older than you with good experiences

Alcohol is not the solution of depression,  even if you take alcohol and get high. After the alcohol clears from your eyes you will still come back to your normal state of life. I think the proper way to fight depression is to meet a Councillor,  meet close people that you can talk about your problem with, do not try to be lonely,  make sure you stay around people and also found something that will make you busy and with time I think one will get heal and be out from depression.

Anything that you can do to make you happy, do it . And one of the thing that make someone happy at time is love making with your partner. Sometimes when people advise you sef it look as if you are angry. And all the things they might have told you are just like waste not time. Op all the points you listed out are good but the best nwy to overcome depression is to ask the almighty God which is prayer and fasting. And everything will just vanish.

And depression does not just come at once but it comes gradually and in most time in because nof your thinking is abstract with your normal thinking.

But some people wey dey enter this depression things some nah because of love and some nah because dey loose their loved ones, some nah because dey don lost in their business. So many things dey wey dey cause this depression and people dey die as a result of this depression but solutions dey as you done list some they get one important aspect wey dey. As for those people wey day always day around the victim of the depression mose experience the parent and siblings suppose dey give am company make he victim no day sit only him without anoybodie around him he go fit day thing on other negative factors wey fit lead am to death or even crime. So they need appropriate care for the main time.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARE DEPRESSED.
Depression don make so many people get issue with their mental health. Many people feel say to escape depression is by letting theirselfs to get drunk with drinking or taking of drug's.
My people taking of drugs can't help you instead it boost your depression's,and it worsting your situation.
THINGS YOU CAN DO TO ADVIDED DEPRESSION.
• good food.
•mengleing with friends to stop much thinking.
• doing things that's give you Joy in doing
And so on, depression can't help rather it makes us look tertard and worst.

For me i block out everyone then try to resolve it internally give myself enough motivation to push on...Remind myself of what I've accomplished so far and what I can achieve with time while reminding myself that anything depressing me someone somewhere have passed through it victoriously. I remind myself that "THIS TOO SHALL PASS".Nothing last for ever

        Behind the despair
Overwhelming or depression is natural because no man is immune to diversity, the following could be the underlaying causes.

1. The death of a relative, friend or pet

2. Family conflict

3. Academic failure

4. Break up of a romance

5. Sickness and many more but few to mention

Some person don't easily ride out from their storms why some are better equiped to ride out the storms than others. following could help when depressed.

1. identify the cause and ask for help

2. Patient: the feeling of depression are like storm clouds which with time will pass away, patient is a virtue.

3. Boost yourself confidence: don't think less of yourself and limit your ability.

4. Spend quality time with those that love you : that way you will feel better than isolation.

5.think of one blessing in your life you can reflect on appreciatively.

6.write about it if you can: writing about such feeling can help increase thinking ability and organize the mental clutter that accumulate from the feeling of depression. I believe is going to help any one in depression.

Well just as you take talk am say e no dey easy to do all these too many things wey you just talk and true true e dey very hard for pesin wey dey depressed to do all these things wey you talk,  e go fit help sha but na just for the main time because you no go do those things forever, u go definitely leave that thing wey u dey do to help you free I. e na em be to say that you no meditate forever, you no go read bible forever, you no go sleep forever etc you get. For me i feel or I think to overcome am na something wey go gats deal with your mind or heart, because your mind need to be free before depression go comot.  if your mind never dey free, after you do all these things wey you talk come go si down your mind go still dey remember those things wey dey worry you. So i think the best therapy is you and your mind because you will have to make a decision and then follow your heart/mind.

So you mean person go just choose to jump from frying pan to fire, at a point in every man's life we are bound to be depressed, we don't expect everything to be sweet and rosy all the time. Life is all about the up and down, so if he met the down side of life don't he also have in mind that his going to taste the sweet part.  instead he chooses to become a drunkard, e go clear from him eye, drinking is another thing that will also keep him depressed, I hope he recollect himself.

Depression happens to almost everyone, every body get their own method of tackling their own depression which dey work for them, but one wey I notice say dey work well well na say make the person go buy pet. Getting a pet can be a good way to make sure that depression stays away because there is always a pet to show you unconditional love when you need it, and make you smile sometimes. It sounds crazy, but getting a pet can really help someone with serious issues of depression.

Life don teach me say e dey better to face your problems head on no matter how them tough reach. If you say the pressure too much so you won dey shayo to forget your troubles, nor forget say alcohol na only temporary solution wey dey cause long term damage. When the going don too tough, na that be the time wey you need to fall on family and friends for support and guidance. Talk to your people nor tell your problems to a bottle. I go end am with this; bartender nor be your friend even though them dey listen to all your wahala their work na to make you pour out your sorrow and buy more drinks.

The fifth point you made is very reasonable, a lot of people take alcohol and drugs thinking it is the way out of depression
But all it does in essence is making you an addict, temporary pleasures doesn't give permanent solutions
Staying motivated is a important,  always try to be a better version of yourself, hit the gym and keep yourself busy... understand that depression is just a state of mind

E get one of my brother wey just start to dey drink recently so I ask am say why all of a sudden he won turn himself to a drunkard, he say na because say him dey depressed.
What to do when you are depressed or worried about something

1: seek Help: There is a popular saying that goes like this"a closed mouth is a closed destiny" Talk to someone you trust, it could be a family member, friend or even a therapist to help guide you. Talking to someone go help relieve some worries you were having and solution can come from there .

2: Get yourself busy with what you love doing. If it is exercise, watching a movie, Listening to music, reading books, or even cooking. This will take your mind off that worries and you won't endanger yourself in the process.

3: Eat better food: if you no eat because you are worried, e go add more to the depression you are already experiencing which will mess with you mental health and affect your overall well being.

4: Reflect on your little achievement and small wins in life; this will bring a little joy to you at that moment

5: Avoid Alcohol and Drug, this one go worsen your case because if you come get addicted to them, it will hard for you to get out of it and that's like double wahala for you.

6: Even in your worries, try get better sleep, e go help your mood and also your mental health.

7: Learn how to meditate: meditation is simply having a deep thought. You can meditate on the word of God or any thing you believe in.

I know it's not easy to do any of these when one is facing difficulty but you will still have to help yourself to get out of that situation and hopefully this helps. What do you do when you are depressed?
There are a lot of things a today for me for instance reach out for support, engage in activities which will take your time to forget about worries and establish self routine.

What I know about being depressed be say na everybody e dey touch and na everywhere and different person have different ways to take follow am. As for me na recreational stuffs like football na dey really relief me of any depression, na either I play the football or I engaged my self in a playstation duo with some of my G's but I hardly do all those things now and what I do most is playing the football or something running to clear it off is also a welcomed technique but all these are my way sha don't know for anyone else.
