What do you think about the freedom of speech in the USA?

YouTube is just a company trying to make money. They don't have a responsibility to protect freedom of speech (even though they claim they do). And they have many problems with customers and governments who are against Putin. So they just make moves to protect their profits. I can understand that.

While YouTube aims to profit, it's essential to consider the balance between profits and responsibility. As a big company, they should (and can) take action. Their actions impact speech freedoms, especially in contentious political contexts.

Freedom of speech is a problem in all Western nations due to woke policies & the modern day fear of offending people. If you ask me, people have become too soft, all this crap about there being multiple genders, homosexuality everywhere, the current world is absolute haram. Large companies don’t employ the best person, they try to hit quotas. During the last election, people were censored, during COVID actual MD’s with opposing views were cancelled, it’s a load of crap. I would rather live in Russia or something, they don’t stand for this crap.

You think that's easy because it's not your money. Believe me, when the time comes and you must choose between profit and the freedom of speech of everyone else, it is very hard to give away profit and support the community. Especially, it's even harder when it's a big company, not just a single individual.

But those things you mentioned do not have anything to do with the freedom of speech of the lack of it whatsoever, though.
Freedom of speech is being able to speak about what you think without having to fear represals for the those things, not matter whether you are talking about woke things or against them.
If you moved to Russia then you would live in a society where freedom of speech is frictional, because there only one speech or discourse which is accepted to take place or be publicly available: the speech sponsored by the Russian state. As soon as you started to talk critically about the Russian state, you would official become the enemy of the state. That is not freedom, is oppression.

If you live in a country where you can badmount your goverment and people who you think are Haram and nothing bad would happen to you, then you would be living in a free country or at least one which embarrassed freedom of speech.

Freedom of speech is not only dependent on the people in power, it is also dependent on the part of the world that's involved, I must tell you the truth the west do things differently, despite how powerful American president is, he is limited in using some powers, but in some part of the world the case is different you will see a president exercising power as if the populace are nothing whatever he says stands without a stoppage of any kind, if we look at America, you will see that before some things is done by the president the parliament has to sit and deliberate on it before that executive will act accordingly, though sometimes executive power applies without deliberation but this happens when there is emergency.

Actually, I believe it mostly depends on whether we are talking about a private company or a government organization. As far as I know, when we are talking about a private company in the United States, they reserve the right to become content at the discretion, whether has something to do with the Ukrainian Russian war or not. The people of the United States and independent organizations can say in public and on TV they are pro Russian and they would like Russia to take over all Europe and nothing would happen to them, because the first amendment rights. It just takes a look at Fox channel, how their previous commentator: Tucker Carlson, used to talk wonders about Russia and Putin in cable TV, nobody censored him and he would have continued to do so in Fox, but he got fired because of the Dominion lawsuit.

Compare that situation with someone in Russia being pro-Ukranian on Television, they would experiment actual censorship.

Freedom of speech is not something that will give us the liberty to talk anyhow to any person without bearing the consequences beneath us. Many of the social media we see and trying to make sure that there platforms is not use as propaganda for hate speeches and attack against unethical speech movement. Individual companies must bear the responsibility of the actions there users create and it is always important to control it to avoid sanctions by the government.

WHENEVER anybody sues somebody else over their use of freedom of speech, they, at least partially, use freedom of speech to do it. Sue 'em back for using their freedom of speech to harm you in their suit against you.

Freedom of speech, in this case, has nothing to do with YouTube censorship, in fact, many channels are not closed by YouTube, it is the same community, sometimes with criteria, other times not, so, it may be That YouTube ignores certain channels, its algorithms, moderators, then it is the community that denounces it.

Then that person, in his full right, makes a claim, presents his arguments and if they are valid, the channel returns, or they simply restrict that video, since it violates the community standards.

BTW, Freedom of speech is a phrase that does not always apply to our context. So, the essence of that phrase is not a license* to have freedom of thought. *That license is defined by governments, and by public opinion itself.
