Meme coin was one of the hot topics which the solana meme project tried to revive. Meme project has become a ground point for the whales to grab greedy retail investors money. Solana also tried to bring their own meme project craze, and now it seems avalance ecosystem is also trying to make their own meme project that will make a position in the market. There can be a lot of meme project that are making a lot of money for some people but i still believe they are just some kind of scam.
I'm certain Dogecoin isn't a scam. Especially when original developers intended it to be a "joke". Not to mention, it has a large community backing it since its inception. What I would call a "scam" are the bunch of other coins that appeared right after Elon Musk "pumped" DOGE all the way to the moon. I'm talking about Shiba Inu, Floki Inu, Pepe, etc. Such coins won't last a long time because the ones behind them are only interested in profits (not because they want to get seriously involved in development/innovation).
If you put your money into "meme" coins, you should be prepared to lose all of your money in an instant. They're a "high risk, high reward" investment. Why not choose BTC or ETH instead? I won't be surprised if 99% of "meme" coins die in the future, as people move onto the next big thing in crypto. Just my opinion
