Pi mining was the most stupidest thing but unfortunately most of us believed in it because it was started by Oxford university alumni, even I did it for few weeks and didn't see any progress and no assurance from the team hence dropped it and I still have friends who continues to mine it till recently. Op are you sure this story is a legit one? because if you told your friend everything concerning bitcoin, I know he would be happy to know about bitcoin for the very first time, but I doubt if he will pressure you to help him buy bitcoin because bitcoin is a long-term investment, like 4-5 years before one can start seeing profit from it, and I think he will not be ready to hold bitcoin for a long term. No blame the guy, alot of people no dey informed yet.
