I used to use them a lot back in the day, when they were still .info. I had around 0.05~ BTC in there, and then almost two days ago I sent $100 to a friend. I should around 0.049~ left, but my balance remains the same as before making the transaction. Because of this, my available balance is $0 when I go to send more. I called my friend and he did tell me he received the BTC, so it's just odd. I didn't even remember setting up an email on there, but I checked the account and it shows messages that I sent out money (the $100), and that I successfully used my phrase to recover my account. This problem is continuing on both iOS and the browser version. What is good?

As long as you don't see any authorized transactions when you lookup for your addresses on blockchain.com or any other explorer, you should be fine. it could be a display issue. I suggest you switch to another wallet provider, and go with something like Electrum instead. Here's a guide on how to recover your wallet:

https://bitcoinelectrum.com/restoring-your-standard-wallet-from-seed/

Once you do that, I would advise creating another standard wallet in Electrum, and then sending everything from the restored Blockchain's wallet to the new one.

Yeah maybe it is time I ditch them. Exodus has been an amazing wallet for years. Thanks man.

There are simply better wallets than blockchain.com out there. Last I check, their wallet is filled with their custodial products which I find clutter-y lol.

Exodus BTW is closed source + if your setup is exposed to the internet, it's only a secondary wallet at best. IIRC, even exodus said they do not recommend their wallet alone for large amounts of money.

I suggest a hardware wallet as a main for large amounts and hardened security, see: Open Source Hardware Wallets

Where did they say this? Please link me if you can. I have used them for a couple of years for just basic storage purposes and I haven't been betrayed by them. Trezor FTW though!

edit : Forgot to mention the main reason for this thread.

The transaction I sent out for $100 does not appear in my activity, but I did confirm with the recipient as well as on-chain and that BTC was sent, and that my change address received the proper amount. This used to be a pretty good wallet back in the day, I miss that beeping sound it would make when you'd receive money. I seriously hope this just fixes itself soon because this is just meant for basic transactions lmfao

Found it!

Finally, and most importantly, if you are storing large amounts of crypto assets do not use Exodus.

But it should be okay as a secondary wallet for day to day transactions specially if you want a (software) multi-currency wallet.

Sadly, you're not the first one with this kind of thread. We typically see buggy reports when bitcoin price is pumping, likely because they have more traffic coming during this time. Perhaps it'll go back to normal soon.

Blockchain.com is not a good wallet, it's full of problems and I even had a case where wallet somehow got damaged. I mean that I couldn't login in my wallet, everything was correct, I was clicking on email verification code and there was some error from their side. From that moment I understood that what others say is true, you shouldn't use online Bitcoin wallets like blockchain.com, just stick with Electrum and you'll be well.

I miss that beeping sound it would make when you'd receive money. I seriously hope this just fixes itself soon because this is just meant for basic transactions lmfao
Have you tried to contact their support? I guess they didn't respond as usual.

It was one of the old wallets but it's never been good and I remember people had issues too when they were blockchain.info.

I suggest you to move your funds to a better wallet

Electrum: Desktop and Android

Blue wallet: for IOS.

BLockchain.info may have been a pioneer and wallet in the past by uniting exchanges and private wallets that may be followed today, its popularity is less in the millennial generation, if you look at it blockchain.info deserves appreciation. The location is the old days of wallets like this for me strange and maybe prefer electrum and bitcoincore, because at that time I really liked altcoins so I used it more often for erc-20. As long as none of your sensitive personal data is spread there for me it is still safe. Because the incident that happened to you might be a display bug in the wallet software, resulting in 2 events that perform their functions, even though they were sent to your friends. You restore whenever your wallet is smoothly it is a good step, meaning blockchain.com is still doing the maximum for its users.

Maybe people mostly store bitcoin in cex because a trader knows the trend when it will change and it turns out that blockchain.info technology and innovation are used and become a necessity of life. we call it web3 although in web3 the advantage is that there is a web search with google search, but apart from that it is in terms of unification of 2 storages.

@OP, since you're done using them. It's better that you should stop using them as you can see, many agrees that this wallet isn't a recommended wallet to use. I, even used it before when I was still new but after experiencing some troubles on my last days of using it, that's already enough for me to stop it. Aside from the possible upgrades that they might do in the future, if you're not going to use them quite often then you might missed those updates like before about the mnemonic phrases they've given and they don't consider the old ones that used them to restore through those short/long words that was distributed before. And that's why if you're into Bitcoin use wallets like electrum, samourai and bluewallet for mobile.
