Everything is becoming shitty with the local board.

This is a vent post to allow my frustrations to go out. Please do not think of it as a finger point out to anyone.

I have been active and trying and trying, I have tried my level best to organize this board. The problem lies within everyone as everyone is busy with their problems. Thanks to the fucking government we are all going to lose money more cause of the shadow ban. There is only one question that comes to my mind as a crypto investor and a signature campaign member. Am I going to elect the same government for the next 5 years term, obviously yes, as we don't have a good opposition. We only have a corrupt opposition that we are aware and it is known to everyone residing in India.

The problem is that nothing can be changed with the way the government is operating. The solution is that we a few active members get an extra income through a signature campaign, though, we would know how to utilize a campaign reward every week. The next problem is that we as an Indian community don't get selected so easily into a campaign as we are not technically sound.

Merit givers or merit sources are not to be seen., why? As they don't consider our replies worth enough, Is it because we are not worthy enough or the first or they do not consider us suitable to get merits?  I wonder why they are not responding to posts and assume they are busy with their own problems, but will it continue?

I understand your frustration, and it is really hard when you give all the effort to make this place better, but the end result still looks same or even getting worse. But I am just trying to be optimistic even though I can be wrong, but I am not going to lose hope no matter what, I will keep contributing as much as I can, so I can say that I tried and failed which is better than backing out. But if boycotting is your decision then I respect that and no further argument.

All around the forum, not many forum members are technically knowledge about bitcoin even some of the most recognized members are not having deep knowledge about everything, and it's okay because everyone is here to learn something from others. Getting accepted into campaigns may have multiple factors which includes number of merits received in 120 days that depends on how active their merit sources are and how many active members they have which will keep circulating the numbers but as of now Indian board is having hardly around 15 active members and none of them are merit sources or having huge chunk of sMerits to spend.

And I just want to remind that all our efforts to keep the board active not went in vain, in Jan 2023 we were the least performing local board and made only 50 posts and sitting at the bottom of the table but in Dec 2023 we made around 260 posts and sitting at the sixth place from the bottom, climbing up 5 position is hell of an achievement with the very little resource we have.

Sorry, I saw your post and opened it. I don't know what's going on, but it seems like you're really angry here.

I don't know how the merit source in the Indian local board distributes the merit to local members, but in our local board (Indonesia) the merit source distributes it to active members every month evenly, and members who have good posts will be appreciated more. I think merit sources in local board have a duty to support local member. Maybe you need to contact him privately and talk about this. Good luck guys

OP has been trying their level best to bring this local section up to speed for any newbie India users who might stumble upon this forum and want to join in on the local community on this forum. Till date they have done a commendable job at keeping the section active, warning the less active users and organizing contests for the same.

A lot of adverse things that we have to face - the government and its shadow ban is the biggest looming terror at this point.

Not just speculation, Heisenberg_Hunter himself announced that he was added to the merit source list with decent amount of merit allocation in his merit application thread.

Don't know about others, but I have been active here from day 1 and I have received merit as per my ability to write. I do not agree with you that the merits are not coming they come whenever there is a good post and some of us have ranked up because of the merit source of our local board. They are not part of any campaign and they are doing their job without the constraint of necessity. I agree that they might be busy with other work but that does not mean they do not check the local board.

It has been hard and it has been a difficult journey as I am the one who has been the most active member of this local board for a few years now. I have put all my efforts and I have put a lot of time into trying to achieve what other top boards are doing. It has been tough but it has been soothing to see new faces here from early 2023.

I have a few plans that might make the local board more active. I am working on it and as soon as I achieve a goal that has been set by me, I will apply for Merit source. I never planned this, but Heisenberg_Hunter DMed me which pumped me mentally to think whether I can be one of them. It has been 5 years now that I have been active on this forum with the support of you guys I might get it.

P.S. I gave away all the sMerits that I earned through this thread. Please utilize your merits for those who deserve it on the local board. There are a few posts that I felt deserving of under the present circumstances and I could not as I was out of sMerits.

Yeah, I like your response and that is how someone holding the fort should respond. If you are planning to apply for merit source we atrs in me will support you. Frustration is quite evident when you are trying to achieve something, venting it out is not considered good in public. Venting it out in a forum can be taken as a negative attitude, it can cause you issues in the future. Take this as my suggestion from someone new to the forum and its lalalala..

That is the spirit mate. Don't lose hope and just keep hustling. The end goal for the members of this local board is the same.
We have to make this local board a better place and improve our skills in the process and there are a lot of ways to that, we just have to keep finding them.
Keep doing what you do. We are all in this together and let's see where we go.

I feel sorry to see that you are making so much of effort but not getting the desired outcome as this would be really frustrating and the most important thing is the worst phase which we are going through as we are struck between rock and a hard place as we are being royally screwed by the government with it's cruel and barbaric policies towards crypto as they just wants our share of profits by implementing atrocious TDS and tax on profit but they don't care about the loses and also now they have tightened the noose by removing the foreign exchanges from App store and play store which will make even P2P transfer difficult and people will be scared when they government will target them. On the other hand the bias which you have mentioned here about the technically sound post and not getting the due respect which our posts or topics should get it's very true but we cannot change much and to be honest not everyone can be technically sound but I think people need to start looking at the content and how helpful it would be before giving merits rather than focusing more on the technical aspects. Anyways these are user behavior which would take time as we may not be able to change it now.

But a big shout out to you for always thinking about the local board and community, dedicating yourself for betterment of this board.

I understand that this board has not been active as earlier in 2017-2018, this section was super active when altcoins were doing well and I was fortunate enough to be a part of the forum back then. Now, it seems that the market is also not good and for Indians, the taxes have ruined the fun of even considering BTC as an investment or source of income which wasn't the case earlier. Bitcoins had so much potential in India but nothing is working out now.

Welcome back! You and many others were the reason I became one of the active member of the local board. The current situation is different to what you guys had experienced earlier. But, it is still the same for the local board active users from 2021. Please try to be active and I know you are doing it as a free will. Please give us encouragement with your activities on the local board. If everyone leaves us then where will we find a place to discuss about our problem and possible solutions on this non encouraging environment.

We don't really know the size of crypto community in India but it's expected to be around 5% of total population which itself is huge number that can make us to be in top 3 atleast.

Well, I came across many user name which looks Indian to me but they never made one single post in Indian local board but they are active in main board.
