Can digital items also be sold or only physical?
Different things can be legal in one country/state and illegal in another, and you have a very long list of contraband items:

I think you need to add search field, that would make finding items to buy much easier.
You should also enable payment with Lightning Network and/or Liquid Network (L-BTC), especially important when on-chain fees are high.

Here's my review. First, Scarce City has been around awhile. I would not call it new at this point. New to the public perhaps but they have been the "go to" auction site for crypto collectibles for a longer time than most.

Second, there is a solid argument to make that Scarce City is more advantageous to sell your item than Ebay or Stack's Bowers (or other auction houses). With Ebay, you pay 17% fee and deal with customers directly, which is always an adventure. With Stacks and others, they do a good job of grading and providing a new audience of buyers, but their true incentive is to sell volume and the audience doesn't have much maturity to understand what they are buying. It's kind of a crap shoot. Scarce City on the other hand started with Crypto Collectibles as a passion. They do a great job and the audience knows what they are looking for and what they are worth.

Finally, the buying experience is awesome. Easy. I had some questions one time and got immediate personal responses. I love that Scarce City, with this announcement, is expanding to sell everyday items. This is a huge advantage to sellers that want to sell items and receive BTC.

I have no dog in the hunt at all other than wanting cool businesses that support physical bitcoins as much as possible.

I like the idea its like ebay but paid in bitcoin. I definitely think you need a specific category for bitcoin collectibles and physical bitcoin. Hard to know if your getting the best price if buyers have to search through baseball cards and other "crap". Very specific buyers looking for our stuff.

Also what is the criteria for legal merchandise?

It's not linked on Scarce.City yet. While we'll likely link it eventually, it's meant to be an independent site.

It's the same model we've used on Scarce.City to host thousands of auctions over the past 3+ years. While of course there is trust involved, we try to minimize it by keeping collateral requirements to a minimum. I think it's fair to say trust is involved in the exchange of any physical items.

The founding team (Chris Tramount and Aryan Jabbari) is fully doxed and easy to find with simple searches. We put our reputations on the line to mitigate trust concerns.

To start, SatsCrap only supports physical items. We're open to digital items if they make sense. ScarceCity is always open to hosting drops for (bitcoin) digital drops, but consider these drops are curated. Here's the submission form: https://scarce.city/submissions

We copied Ebay's contraband items to keep things safe and simple in the beginning. We'll continuously review the list and make adjustments where we feel comfortable. Let us know if there's anything there you think we should take a second look at.

Yes, for sure we'll be adding a search field soon. There are less than 100 listings right now so it's pretty easy to scroll through in the meantime.

Lightning is supported for all bitcoin payments. We're open to supporting Liquid as adoption and infrastructure improves.

Scarce City is our more niche marketplace for Bitcoin art and collectibles. SatsCrap is meant for everything else (although there's nothing stopping Bitcoin art/collectibles from being listed there as well) -- We hope to see specific niche categories organically develop on SatsCrap over time and we'll prioritize development to support them.

The contraband list is linked here. It's essentially copy pasta from Ebay to keep things safe and simple to start. We'll review over time and make adjustments. Let us know if there's a specific category/item you think we should take a second look at.

Not yet. Initial buyer and seller accountability is from the refundable BTC listing and bidding deposits.

If a seller breaks Seller Guidelines, they lose their listing deposit.

If a bidder doesn't pay their bid, they lose their bid deposits.

As long as both parties play by the rules, their collateral is refunded.

We'll likely add the ability for power sellers to opt into a reputation system over time. We want to be careful to do it in a way that cannot be faked and does not compromise privacy.
