I am trying to send BTC using Armory from a P2PKH bitcoin address to a P2PWKH (Segwit) BTC address. I have Armory 0.96 installed on the online and offline computers.

I am able to create an unsigned transaction file on the online computer and import it to an offline computer but when I try to then create a signed transaction file on the offline computer Armory does not see the unsigned transaction file if the address I am trying to send to is a BTC P2PWKH address. The Sign button is disabled. I can create a signed transaction file if the BTC address I am trying to send to is another P2PKH bitcoin address though.

How do I transfer BTC from a P2PKH bitcoin address to a BTC P2PWKH address with Armory?

Most people will install singing wallet on an airgapped device and not updating it, but which is better. There could have been an update that will make this possible on Armony. But because you are using an old Armony wallet (I guess), maybe this is the reason trying to sign a transaction with segeit address not working. If you are using an old Armony wallet for the signing, try to update it to the latest version of Armory wallet and see if it would work or not.

It’s probably an old version of  Armory wallet you should update it as suggested above or is it by any chance connected to a node that is not a full node that can also be problem.

But my suggestion will be to sweep your keys into another wallet like electrum (you can still use it as cold wallet too). You simply just export your private key from armory by following this guide https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4746784.msg43255691#msg43255691
and then you can install electrum wallet then create a standard wallet and follow this guide to sweep your private key.

At least with the new wallet you can easily back up your seed phrase since it is said that armory doesn’t support it

Like others said above you can't spend BTC from your wallet if you are trying to send or receive it to the bech32 address(segwit) with that Armory version it won't work and they already have a newer version that fixes this issue.

The latest version that fixed this issue is Armory 0.96.5 that you can download from the link below

You can't sweep you private key into electrum, if it's offline.
If OP wants to make the transaction using electrum without the private key connecting to the internet, he/she should create a watch-only wallet for making the unsigned transaction and another wallet with importing the private key on an offline device for signing the transaction.

Well sometimes newer updates fix bugs or make things work better. So give your Armory wallet an update and see if that sorts out the issue. Keeping your wallet current not only helps with problem solving but also keeps things more secure
