Yesterday night, the sad news about the death of the CEO of Access Bank together with his wife and the only son in an air crash came out and it's really sad to see a complete family being wiped out in a single day in a most painful way.

While we mourn with the extended relative left behind, the question about the current and future state of Access Bank comes to mind.

It's possible he might have used his only son as his next of kin not knowing what lies head of him but considering the current reality, what's your thought on continuous banking with the investment, Access bank, thsr he has left behind?

Do you feel this might lead to the bank shorting down or losing more customers?

First of all, this is a really sad and shocking news. May their would rest in peace

Secondly, Big firms like this aren't sole proprietorship businesses where the death of the owner necessarily affects the business. Yes, the death of course would affect the business but not to the extent of shutting down. There are investors, stakeholders, and most importantly board of directors where someone responsible enough can easily be singled out as the new CEO. The only way it'll affect us the customers is if their culture changes due to the change in ownership.

My thoughts on continuous banking would be to continue banking. Sometimes these changes in culture may be positive cause a responsible person might want to do better than the last and sometimes negative if an any how person is put on seat.

Its really a sad new to see a family wipe out in a single day. The death of the CEO Access bank whose name is Herbert Wigwe will not have any effect in your Access bank account, first they are been backup by the CBN, secondly a firm as big as that can never be manage by one person where the death of the CEO will affect the business or your money in it, though it is going to affect the firm somehow but not to that extend of shutting down totally. Our prayer now should be let the firm bring out a God fearing individual that will help the firm run there activities normally.
May the gentle souls of the deceased rest in peace.

First of all, nah very sad news say the CEO of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe, alongside him family and former group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbajo just kpai for plane crash on Friday last week and according to wetin I gather for news, say this sad event occur on their way coming back from a game and e crash for desert. My issue be say how long we go dey lose prominent people to death in such manner? E no get wetin the aviation industry fit do to curb the frequency of such incidences?
Herbert Wigwe nah person wey really push Access Bank from a very low state of 65th position in terms of ranking amongst banks to 4th and e show say e cause many positive results for the bank.

I know say many go dey fidget about the safety of their funds, and I no go blame them. Financial institutions like this dey always put person for high jump especially when things like this occur buti believe say nothing big go affect customer funds.

@Bitco55 has said, Every learned person should know that the eventual death of a member in corporations and company's that the death of a member is not the death of the company. He is only a C.E.O another person will be elected from the board members.
Nigerians should not be known for negativity, I heard people discussing this matter in my pos outlet how they want to go to the bank and remove their money from the bank. If I may ask does the man walk or secretly keep all the deposits of the customers? No, the system is still functional the man may die
with his own personal funds which can be claimed if traced.
Lest stop all this unsolicited imaginations.

RIP to the deceased.
The banking sector does not operate in such a way that when the CEO of the bank is no more or can’t continue to handle the affairs of the bank, the bank will just liquidate or the customers money will be gone forever. Access Bank is a commercial bank that his owned by a private entity which might also consist of shares of other people with the person owning the highest shares been the CEO. CEO’s aren’t just given the position without due process or consideration by the CBN, so a person taking that position is deserving of it.

The CEO’s death won’t cause any effect to people’s money in the bank and the bank will continue to operate on its right path like before. A new CEO will be appointed to take control of the affairs of the bank and the deceased shares can be given to them, and if he owns the whole bank, it can be place in market for sale for a new person to take over. The money commercials bank deposits with CBN is very big that can compensate their customers when the bank go bankrupts, so I don’t think there’s cause for alarm after the demise of the CEO.

Access Holdings Plc is already a fully functional business. The death of one man even in the status of the CEO will not be enough to Stop the business from continuing. There is a board of directors and they have already appointed Ms Bolaji Agbede to continue as Acting Group Chief Executive Officer of the Company. The bank is not shutting down, your money in this bank is also safe.

Eve if the bank will shut down, it will not be immediately too, it may take some months or years and may be a result of the heads of the company deviating from the focus and goal of Dr Herbert Wigwe, and what he had planned for the company.

Op dis your topic self get how e be, because you suppose know say wigwe na CEO him be, there are other executive officers that the bank have, way go steer the wheels of operation even in the absence of wigwe, or is wigwe the first CEO Access bank has ever had?, I believe your answer is no.
This your question about the bank shorting down or losing customers is sounding somehow in my ears, did wigwe die with all the money deposited in the bank?, Of course no. So the business of banking will go on continuously at Access bank without hitches.
Talking about his WILL, I think the immediate family will know what to do on that.
