Well, in my personal understanding, proof of identity proves or establishes who you are. Now, how can we prove this? Of course, this is where the verification about us comes in, and for others to verify who we are, we need to have verification IDs such as a driver's license, passport, or any government ID.

As for the authentication, there is no need for that; instead, the credential is also checked through the password we created, pin, or authentication code that only we know.
