One thing that I want to understand is that are we angry about that gambler betting 1000$ or we are surprised that he broke his TV ?
I know he broke his TV out of his frustration but the value of the TV is nothing as compared to the 1000$. If he has lost 1000$, he could manage the few more bucks loss for the TV too.

No possibilities of losing a bet? If there were no possibilities of a losing a bet, then gambling wouldn't be called gambling.
It would be called conservative investing with guaranteed returns. A dumb person always pays for his stupidity, in one way or another.

He's not ready to face the consequences of the action he done that's why he became so frustrated regarding on what happen to him. That's why before taking a risky decision like extending the size of their bet they should know their limits since if they can't decide well and take those bad option for sure what happen to that guy may happen to them to. Sorry but I have to disagree with your last statement, and this is because, there is no way one can eat his or her cake and still have it, one can not lose a game, get really angry and destroy something of good value, and you expect the person to still not remain the frustration of his lost money, as well as the item he or she destroyed, on those around them.

I've witnessed a case of my neighbor where I lived between 2016 and 2020 before I moved to where I currently live.
Man went out, had an issue with his fellow man which resulted in a fight, he was beaten by the other man whom as I supposed, was heavier than he is, he came back home furious, he picked up his phone and discovered it was off, he tried to turn it on but the phone won't come up because the battery was already drained, seems that made him even more angry and out of frustration, he smashed the phone on the floor, and it broke, his little daughter hearing the sound rushed out, saw the smashed phone and tried to ask her dad what happened, the man angrily slapped her, she ran to her mum, who also came out and confronted the husband wanting to find out why he beat their daughter, the man again pounced on his wife and started beating her  , it was a show of shame for that family that day, and later on, the man confessed that it was the phone he broke that made him beat his family up, he said temper rose to the highest height after seeing he had destroyed the phone, knowing well it was an expensive phone.

Whenever there is a big event like the World Cup, Big time Boxing when gamblers are betting huge money, we see people smashing their huge TV sets, out of frustration, until there are reports that these people are doing this for content, to gain views on their social media accounts but there are some who do this for real, I would not let this happen in our home, TV sets are expensive here in our country, it's equivalent of one-month saving.

Story time. Because i heard a similar story from a friend of mine from finland in 2003.

Even if someone tries to argue that the person did such thing in spite of his rage, still, that does not justify his actions of destroying stuff that costs lots of money in the process. If a person is indeed on the height of their emotions, there is the tendency where they make questionable decisions that would affect them in the long run.

Well, that's right, as you said, they think they can beat the edge that the casino has by using all the methods that they think are effective in generating lots of wins, and what they don't think about is that all the games provided are built by the casino. where the casinos know everything and they also never tell the gamblers about how to produce a definite win, in essence all gamblers have no more than the same chance of winning and the possibility of losing but perhaps with different amounts.

Addicted gamblers often lose the ability to think critically and make mindful decisions whether it's about making their bets or reacting after incurring losses. Just like this guy, they first make reckless gambling decisions and bets that they can't afford to lose, and then when they lose those bets, they rage and do things that make them lose more money or properties eventually which, as you said, makes it become a double loss for them.

I don't even know what people takes gambling for, if they think gambling is a game that they can just think it will always give them just exactly they predict.  The worst of it people go into gambling with all the money expecting it will come back, this is not how gambling works. But honestly those kind of people shouldn't really be gambling, those who couldn't control their emotion and tends to destroy or hurt the people around them.
