The new verification law of nurses in Nigeria should be canceled because it is unfair for various reasons.

Nurses in Nigeria are very much under rated, let’s no talk about the whole stress nurses pass through while studying in Nigeria the school bills are extra despite the state of the economy.

NMCN has passed a new law for Nurses in Nigeria. After 5years of study nursing and going for various experiences in different hospital of which we are not being paid, which is quite acceptable because we are still acquiring knowledge and I could say that it’s also for our own benefit, but where the problem lies is after this whole study and struggle we cannot bare to settle down( I am talking about people who are buoyant to travel outside country) here in Nigeria because our pay is peanut.

I would break it down for those who are not in Nigeria…. Imagine are paying $1000usdt per year mind you additional fees will still be paid along the line as tuition fee in an economy that is so bad and your 5-9 job pays you about $600 usdt per month, then you have other children to fend for also plus feeding in the family must be carried out.
Then I finally graduate from school as a nurse and I am being paid $100 usdt per month. How do you expect us to be satisfied with that.

Where this law affect us now is that we are unable to travel outside our country for 2years therefore we are being forced to work and be paid peanut for 2year… some might even be paid lower.

I want to believe they have their reasons but I also want to believe there are other ways to go about it and not this.

Only those in Nigeria might be able to relate and understand easily.

It’s unfair.

Welcome to the forum and welcome to the politics and society section of the forum, I guess.
Could you please elaborate and help us out to us, who do not live in Nigeria and have no idea what you are talking about here? What is this new law about and how harms those nurses in your country? Is it about taxes or is it about making studies more difficult for nurses.
I have always thought people underestimate the work and the important of nurses to society, to be honest, the healthcare workers in countries where universal and free healtcare are rights are heros and are supposed to be treated with respect by both the government and patients. Keeping in mind how many people there is in India and probably how the general population outnumber by several times the available nurses there, I would have expected the Indian government to give special attention to people of that profession, but that is how it works I guess, politicians can mess things up big time.

OP you have not given a proper information as to the message that you want to convey. What verification are you talking about nurses in Nigeria? Is it through the federal government or state government or whether it is from the nursing council because they also have an umbrella body that they are under. I think the nurses have different classes of certificate that they operate on, so what verification are you talking about they they are undergoing in Nigeria. They go through different school and you must have passed the exams to have a particular certificate which you seat for. For example, they have RN, BSCN, auxillary, midwifery and other higher levels. So can you provide us with the link to know what verification you are referring to.

do you know the requirement that you will have to take or go through if you're a nurse going across the boarder of your country to oversee to practice your profession, you must have to fulfill their basic requirement first before approval, and i think same is now being applicable to the law sector.

Nurses in Nigeria are very much under rated, let’s no talk about the whole stress nurses pass through while studying in Nigeria the school bills are extra despite the state of the economy.

Don't you know the conditions involved before making a decision of turning to a nurse, some that can afford it will rather go to overseas for their studies.
