Traditional not Digital Standard

In our society the increasing rate of immorality and nonchalant attitudes can be linked to improper upbringing of our wards by some parents compared to the time were traditional means of training was still practice.
This days you see children dictating what they want or how they want to live there life, spending less time doing house chores,am confused is that the improvement in technology is also increasing the rate of lazy, gullible,and immature children in our society
Children are been exposed to different materials present on the internet...what your take on this guys, should the traditional means be advocated for so we can have a better society.

I believe there is already a thread here in the politics and society section dedicated to the raising of children in the modern world, you should check on it. Leaving that to one side, it mostly depends on who you ask when comes to rasing children using traditional values and means, to be honest. Some  people within the conservative spectrum will agree with you and tell you the best way is the old way, while there will be progressive people who will disagree with you.
You would also keep in mind technology is not at fault in this situation of raising children, technology is neutral, it has always been. The problem comes when people misuse technology and give access to it to children who are not mature enough to use it properly, not even mention de kind of content one can find on the internet. I would myself go for an education which tries to teach children right from wrong, without excluding them from the technology and the advantages it has to our current way of living. After all, isn't humanity all about the seeking for comfort and efficiency through the use of technology?

That's true because of modern technology. Their parents lived on a different era and they want them to experience the best things in life and did spoiled them. Actually, the intention of most parents are good but the application of it have been abused and get used to by this new generation. They think that scolding their parents are typically normal, not following and obeying their orders for household chores are pretty normal. But all of them are getting it all wrong. When they grow up, I think that they'll have to change as no one wants to be with them anymore when they have an attitude like that.

It's totally different the ancient times and the past generation. Kids have been too courteous and they give respect to their parents. But nowadays, kids have been too babied by their parents and that's why as they grow older, all of these babyish things have been developed to them to the point that they don't even know how to wash dishes and all they face are their gadgets and don't want to interact anymore in the outside world. There's already the digital world that they're living and honestly, most of the parents now wanted the same thing on their era and that's why they're making it their kids experience it.

Technology has nothing to do with it. Why would anyone let their own kid browse internet without supervision anyway? Age limits exist for a reason. Don't blame the outside world for your kids behaviour if you throw them out in the world alone without supervision or explaining it, of course they take it like a sponge. Because teaching is parent's job, and if parents don't care enough, kids learn everything, in good and bad, from anywhere they can.

Imho people let their kids dictate rules, because they are lazy and hate confrontation. When a kid get just one thing that he/she wants by arguing and yelling, they learn that it's a valid tactic.
Saying no after that will get harder and harder if parents give up, and it hurts both parents and kids. They might even end up hitting kids and are amazed how they can't behave, even though they brought this with their own lack of parenting.

These kids also might grow up to be pretty horrible, as they definitely use yelling and violence or threat of violence in life, to get what they want as well. Because we unconsciously and knowingly use lessons we learned as a kid.

]When you say traditional means, what are the traditional means? How have the traditional means stopped? What are the modern means of raising children? How are kids these days worse than kids those days? What statistics do you have to back this up?
From my experience, every elder will always say things like "Back in our days we were like this and that" and "We respected our elders". Even a kid today would most likely say something like this when he's an elder. So I really want to know what's happening now that wasn't happening then and what happened then that isn't happening now.

I think kids are loved more these days than those days, it's just my opinion, I don't have any tangible data to back this up.
Back in the day, people didn't care about mental health and all whatnot (at least where I come from. All that mattered to parents was providing for their kids and giving them everything they needed. Give them an education and all. But raising a kid is more than just that. You have to know the kid, you have to be friends with the kid, and the kid should be able to talk to you about everything.

Saying Modern technology has made raising a kid difficult is not true. If anything it has made things easier. These days parents can go on a weekend trip and still communicate with their kids as much as possible. Just have a healthy relationship with your kids. Let them trust you. Be their friend.
I believe if more people understand how difficult it is to raise a kid right, the population of the world would most likely not be anywhere near 7 billion.

It is no longer a surprise that technology has altered children's moral development. With technology emerging as a means of making our lives easier, it also has drawbacks that, if not addressed, can cause more harm to society than the benefits it provides. The internet and technology have made life easier and cannot be replaced by traditional methods; they can only be controlled rather than discarded.

Parents who still want their children to be raised with good morals and attitudes can do so despite the current state of technology. As a parent, you have the final say on how your children respond to all of this. Socialisation begins with the family, so I don't see why the family can't control the child's upbringing if they want to, despite the global change caused by technological advancement.
