I received a PM from minerjones, but I'm blocked by the PM limit for another half a day, so I'll wait until that clears up before proceeding.

PantsParty, minerjones, I have received your latest messages, acknowledging here (my last PM to you both seems to have fully consumed my 2 PM/day limit).

Confirming the transaction has completed and the coin was sold to Aria42 for 1.35btc.

Thanks to minerjones for brokering this deal. For posterity, the offers on this coin ranged from 1.15 at the lowest to 1.52 at the highest. Offers that were higher than the sell price obviously did not pan out and I attribute that to the recent run up in BTC/USD while this coin was on offer. Thanks to everyone for their interest.

From my buyer's perspective, sharing one factor in the sale FWIW: I valued the clear provenance extremely highly, probably higher than most. Given the high cost of 1 BTC nowadays, I personally require a very strong lineage before even considering making an offer.

That mattered to me more than the fact that it's ungraded and not the most perfect specimen -- though I still look for a certain minimum quality, and I also highly valued that the coin was handled and stored very carefully for all of these years.

OP showed where the coin was bought from, which the original owner vouched for; the original owner is a long-time member who sourced the coin directly from Mike Caldwell. And we have records from 10 years ago showing all of this, with the timelines matching when the coin was produced (one of the final batches ever produced). So all of that was important in my purchasing decision.

Finally, I wanted to finally secure a coin relatively quickly after starting a halfhearted attempt three years ago. The silver gilts seem relatively rare nowadays, with a nice one only appearing once every few months on these forums, so I didn't want to wait a few more months/years for another good coin to show up.

Different buyers will have different factors they value, but those were mine.

Those are kind words, about a gorgeous coin!

For those interested, I have an additional coin from that same roll of gilt coins that I am willing to part with - but due to BTC value it would need to be a trade done within canada.

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461
No longer a wannabe - now an ASIC owner!
