Well apart from Ethereum, BnB is also a valuable project because of the exchange being the most popular and so the value of the coin will keep staying alive and appreciating. Also investing in top 10-20 altcoins in CMC or coingecko will also be a good investment for this bull season. In fact don't be surprised that so many shit coins may fly higher than expected during the middle and tale end of the bull and the reason is that bitcoin will go higher that investors will start coming down to altcoins for investment and that will automatically cause altcoins bull run but it is with care so that you don't get trapped in there.

I don't invest in altcoins, because I don't have trust in them and they don't have the potential that bitcoin has. However, like you said, Ether is the second cryptocurrency with value, but it is centralized and they are using proof of stake, which makes me see that they are up to something. Ether is gaining more popularity now and people have also started investing in Ether because it is still cheap, and they believe that Etherum ETF will soon be approved by SEC. I also read on cointelegraph, that Ether staking deposit have touch $85b that is locked up.

When it comes to altcoins selection the issue of finding the right coin to invest is always a matter to deliberate on because it's very hard to make a good selection of the right altcoin that maybe have the pumping power that could give you good profits during this bull because alot of them will be out there and if not properly accessed you might jump in to a case of scam altcoins that maybe rise up and eventually dump again in little space and time.

For me Solana is the choice well that's from my own POV because I have made research and found out that it might have a strong bull run this year so if there is any possible thought of investing I will definitely choose Solana .

Most altcoins especially  shit coins (depends on how shitty) are very risky for investment   as devs keep bringing up useless projects which will definitely dumb  in most case ,some don't even pump at all.
Nevertheless,  they are cryptocurrencies which require great trading care to avoid falling into this scams, It seem OP is also aware of frequent eruption of this altcoins and they aren't stopping soon . So trade with good care

Altcoin investment is a gamble and with the high rate of scam projects headed by fake teams,  there is a need to do adequate research before we put our money down on those coins,  right from the 2017 altcoin boom,  the market has been flooded with tons of coins that never make anything good for their investors unless for a few of them that have a good user case and ecosystem that support their liquidity and value.

And just like some other members already mentioned Ethereum,  BNB and other exchange coins are in that category of the only viable altcoin,  all others without such community support have all ended as scams or other dump coins.

There are lots of altcoins out there that are safe and worth investing in at the moment, but I'd rather stand with Bitcoin all the way. I get that these other coins would have a potential increase in price and interest with the bull run, but why go to altcoins when you can invest in Bitcoin itself?

Many are shitcoins while few are Altcoins. There has been over thousands of new Altcoins in the market but the number of successful one's still in the market today is actually little and in all these investors are being scammed while some also makes huge profits from them.

Ethereum is basically the Altcoin trying it's best to succeeding Bitcoin but we can tell it is quite impossible. The one problem about Ethereum is it's centralization and there could be enough tendency of the system getting to a stop unlike the decentralized Bitcoin not being controlled by any group. Ethereum can aswell be one good Altcoin to invest due to it's high correlation with Bitcoin and it has been helping since Bitcoin at separate intervals hits a new ATH.

Actually for starters, I don't recommend investing in altcoins. The only coin I deem worthy for investment for all categories of persons is Bitcoin. Aside Bitcoin, I can only advise you make enough study which might be a problem for newbies as they might come across confusing terms which are not in their vocabulary. However, Investing in Bitcoin only requires patience to invest for long term there you can reap your profits properly. Though you still have to study to know more about the coin and through studying you'll gain confidence in the coin because, you come to understand more and interesting features of Bitcoin. Aside that, currently in the crypto space, we have lots of scam project floating here and there. They even go as far as passing through the KYC process and some even look worthy for investment, but they are just waiting for a certain amount of market cap and then they'll just crash. Even proper study does guarantee that you'll be free from making the wrong decision towards an altcoin for investment. Now adays most persons tend to follow trends but they forget that trends are only for a while and after that, the coin might never surface ever again. But Bitcoin has given us the opportunity to be a part of an exciting future with enough profit if only we could sacrifices now and reap profits of our labour in the future.

To the newbies, not every coin that get listed in an exchange is worth investing, some are just bunny traps by scammers while some coins were stated clearly In their white paper that they should be taken seriously as a project for investment, because even the developers didn't expect much from their project. I have come across two cases where the developers stated it clearly, and that gave a clue that, before buying any coin it's important we read the white paper first before making any investment decision, and besides I prefer long term project to short term or trend, and this is the more reason why I just stick with Bitcoin. And one major fact about the market is that, most coins follow after the trend of Bitcoin, so why should I invest in coins that are followers when I could simple put all my investment in the most trust worthy coin(Bitcoin)

Normally this thread should have been in altcoin section but nevertheless no issues. Altcoin might be profitable but the fact still remain that altcoin is just altcoin. But there is slight difference between altcoin and shitcoin and shitcoin has been the propeller which has generated a bad impression on altcoin where people no longer know the difference between shit and altcoin. But nevertheless altcoins are more preferable to shitcoin despite all are from one family.

Bitcoin is the best investment. If you haven't encountered a serious fall of alt/shitcoin investment, you will be always  talking about altcoin. I have encountered it several times and it has made me believe so much in bitcoin.

Etherium you talked about is a good altcoin to HODL for long because it has been a successor of bitcoin for long. Well the truth remains that trusting in altcoin other than Bitcoin is a matter of choice but me I don't have take any risk that I have not good analytical method base on passed experiences. Though etherum has made some clearity and outstanding in the crypto currency system that worth a trust but, I still don't believe is safe. It took me time for me to invest in bitcoin when I first time I came across it because i was not sure about it then. There are good cryptos to invest apart from Ethereum. Litecoin, Dogecoin Eloncoin and lately Solana coins  are all good to invest. Although altcoin are not really reliable like Bitcoin just as you have said but we still have some altcoin out there that are still better. Although this isn't a financial advice but can be used alongside with your own research to select your altcoin if you still want to invest in altcoin.
