You're not being censored. Its that you posted an insubstantive post. If you had written some text explaining why you posted the link, or about the link itself, it wouldn't have been deleted. Granted you were attempting to post this in a Politics & Society thread, and not a thread about Bitcoin or something. Try it again taking my words into consideration.

Although this is a public forum, there are rules guiding the forum and to sincere we can’t be decentralized here, that doesn’t mean there is censorship. This particular post of yours might have been deleted after it must have been reported. Mods here don’t just delete post because of censorship but because they don’t want it to cause harm to the other forum users. So maybe it will be better you look at the post properly and maybe you will see that it wouldn’t sit well with others and that’s why it was reported to be deleted, moreover it was a political post that might have carried some information too sensitive. Even you can actually report a post and if the mods finds it inappropriate they will definitely delete it, this isn’t censorship mate, i hope you take that in good faith moving forward

First of all, this post is offtopic. What does your link to the file describing "Clans of Ukraine: Analyzing Links Between Key Groups of the Ukrainian Oligarchy and European and U.S. Families and Institutions" have to do with the theme of the topic where you posted your post (Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress])? Secondly, posts containing one link, without any comments, are considered low quality posts and can be deleted, according to p. 1 of the forum rules.

You should think about how freedom of speech doesn't really work if there's no moderation. If someone tries to spam a bunch of links all over, you can't expect that to be allowed as free speech - but that's not the same as censorship, it's just keeping things orderly.  Moderation is not the same as censorship since the rules apply to everyone equally regardless of what viewpoints we advocate.

Being a low-rank member and sharing a URL that opens up a PDF file is equal to deletion. Do not try to gain sympathy by bringing in censorship and freedom of speech. If the mods think that the security of the forum is at risk or your post was not in the correct thread then it will get deleted. Furthermore sharing such links without proper explanation would result in a forum member reporting it to the mods. Next time try to explain first what is the reason for you sharing the link and why that link needs to be shared. First, learn and then start posting here in the forum without proper understanding you would get your replies deleted by the mods.

There is always a reason behind deleting a post and moderators do not automatically agree that it is a low quality post, off topic or something else without reading the content of the post even if it is reported.

So far I've reported thousands of posts to moderators. The majority of reports have been marked good and 38 bad, 189 not addressed - meaning moderators are still taking the time to read the content of post before making a decision. I agree about no censorship - except ^{[there may be]} on certain users' self-moderated threads.

Bingo.  I've always noticed that a lot of people expect bitcointalk to be bitcoin, especially the latter's decentralized nature--but bitcoin isn't under the thumb of the US government or an ISP provider, whereas this forum is.  That's why Theymos banned all the mixer stuff at the beginning of the year, and it's why not everything is allowed here.  Also, if there were no moderators and everyone was free to write whatever they wanted without restriction, bitcointalk would turn into a forum filled with shitty posts, plagiarism, AI-generated you-name-it, and there would be an all-out war between the members who care about this place and those who would defile it.

Kinda sounds like the pre-2018 days, come to think of it.

By the way OP, just take the hit with the deleted post and roll with it.  I've had plenty of posts nuked for various reason, and there's not much you can do about it.  I'm betting that whatever you wrote isn't of such importance that there needs to be a thread complaining about it.

That's true Bitcointalk is moderated by good staff members and that's why the forum is free from all those kinds of posts which you mentioned in your post. Some people don't really understand that a professional forum like this has its own standards and when they see freedom of speech they think that they can say anything without any restriction. One should not take advantage of the freedom of speech that this forum gives us.

Freedom of speech is a very good quality of this forum but if someone doesn't understand that and misuses it then that user's posts will definitely get deleted by the moderators in order to make this forum a good place. If users continue with spamming, shit-posting, AI generated content, then what's use of a forum where such users are in majority? It makes sense to stop those kind of posts and our moderators are doing their job in the best way to delete such posts on daily basis. Thumbs up for them for the tough job!

I think you should read the rules of the forum or better still, read the rules of every board before posting there. You won't be complaining about that deleted post if knew the rules.
First, it was off-topic, but that's not even the bigger issue, the bigger issue is, that you posted a link alone. No explanation whatsoever.
