From what I saw in general, they both don't really love each other as partners; it's like they're just playing with each other's relationships; their only intention is to date each other. And if I look at the two who really should own what was won, I think it's the woman.

I guess it also does in many people in our day to day lives. Specifically with money, when we deal with our co-workers or our love ones about the money. The mood changes in the conversation. Money is something like would changes someone's behavior and will reveal their true colors and personality. Sad thing is, just like the couple, many people changes their intention only to the money and disregard everything to that. That is the worst.

It's the fear of losing that money and greed to have that money. Instead they get rid of their relationship.

So what is your thoughts on this, 50/50 good for you or nah?
No evidence that the man is telling the truth. No evidence also that the woman is telling the truth.  But that woman has the legal right to the money won.

Will you insist to have an ego battle if you are on the same situation?
If truly the man, Michael Cartlidge sent the money to Charlotte Cox (his girlfriend) that was used to win the huge amount of money. The man will feel cheated and will prefer lawsuit. That is the right thing to do.

Even if Michael Cartlidge sent the money, it was Charlotte Cox who purchased the lottery ticket. Unless Mr.Cartlidge can show proof that he and Cox had an agreement to split the prize money prior to the draw, there is no chance that he will get any amount out of it. At the most, he can file a civil suit against Cox, but even then I am not sure how it is going to help him. His only chance is in case of an out of court settlement, in which Cox maybe ready to part with 10% or 20% of the winnings, just to avoid the nuisance of legal battle.

There are people who believe that money is evil and can transform people, but I believe it is the opposite, money is a simple means that amplifies what people already are. If someone is selfish and greedy, give them money and they will become even more so.

To begin with, I believe that there was no real love in that couple. Just look at the fact that they are both overweight and don't look particularly handsome either. Surely it happened as it often happens that people get together with the one they have at hand to avoid being alone, but with people in love who plan to spend the rest of their lives together, this would not have happened.

Things as they are, I think it's most likely that what you say will happen. Lawsuits are expensive, and a settlement for a small percentage could avoid the trial and settle the matter.

True, money could changed up someone instantly no matter how you do love a person or whats your relationship with them and when that greed kicks in then you wont really be caring about that matter.
It is really just that sad that there are really those relationships that had been busted or broken because of too much greed on a certain individual on which they are really that giving priority on the money that they could get and not on cherishing on the relation that they do have but instead they would really be that giving priority when it comes to money which this proves out on how greedy bastard a certain human being could be.

Since this one isnt a couple who are married then there would really be no issues in between this one, it is really just that a waste that someone is dating but because of money they have split out.
Having that kind of suing on whose the one have the rights on the said amount. It is really just that proving out that we are really just that greedy.
Million dollars for your loved ones? Well this is the sad reality.

Money can destroy any relationship but it depends on how strong the relationship is. There are also many couples out there who are having financial problems, but I have rarely seen them able to let go of each other for money. This kind of issue can be discussed properly, but since this couple is new and has only been together for months, for sure they don't know each other's behavior that well yet. that's a good thing, right? at least while it's still early, they know each other's behavior right away, because it's hard when a couple is already married, that's a different story.

Money... messes with people's brains, man. It can transform someone you thought was decent into a cold, greedy stranger. It's messed up to see, especially when it starts tearing apart relationships. You're not kidding when you say it's a reality check

See, we humans like to think we're complex, but at the end of the day, some pretty basic instincts take over. Money whispers promises, and a lot of folks can't resist the song. It shows us an ugly truth: that sometimes, whether they admit it or not, people's values and character go out the window when big bucks come into play

What you're describing, this unmarried couple fighting about money? It's heartbreaking and pathetic at the same time. Forget the legal side; this is a question of principle. Can you really put a price on the connection you share with someone? In a world where people are willing to throw away love for money, that's a sign of a deep, spiritual poverty. Kinda makes you rethink things, doesn't it?

Well, if that's the matter then the guy just have to let it go and all the money will go to the woman. But that's what the man don't want to happen and if they're truly split already and their relationship can't go back. It's just best for them to have a talk as going to courts with this matters will take a lot of time and as well as money from them. Although the money is no longer an issue to them as they'd just deduct any expenses from the jackpot they've won.
Forget about them getting back together since "love" is of little to no value when they started arguing whether they should split or not. Another thing is that someone is clearly lying. It's all about the money.
Yeah, whatever it is then it's always about the money and when it talks, relationships are ending and whoever is the one that has the advantage of taking huge part, they'd surely go down and far just to take what's for them. This isn't the first time, we'd see more of these stories in the nearest future.

        -   It's sad to think about, but what you say is true, mate. Money can change people's mood. Just like that couple who were able to sacrifice their relationship just because of money.
Does that mean they both got greedy? Well, I guess, yes, they both got really greedy.

Think about it: because of the money won, their relationship became useless and trash; not even one of them showed the importance of the relationship formed between their two partners. Right?

Quote
A couple, who had been dating for a mere three months before they won an eye-watering $1.9 million dollars, split soon after.

Based on the situation of this couple, regardless of them being split soon after the winning, I think the best thing to do here is to cut the prize into half so that tensions between the two parties will de-escalate and avoid any confrontation or emotional turmoil and stress that sometimes end up so badly on both of them. Ego clash won't bear good results that is why we need to keep ourselves calm and fair with others especially in a situation like this.

Have you ever tried something like this situation before?
So what is your thoughts on this, 50/50 good for you or nah?
Will you insist to have an ego battle if you are on the same situation?
If your answer is yes then Why?
And if no then why not?
What are the things you would do to resolve the issue?
How do you think you can handle this kind of situation?

Money can change people and it can affect a lot of people in unexpected ways. Imagine if you've been working an average job for 20 years, just paying down the mortgage or rent each month as you grind through life. Then you walk in to a million, or ten, through a freak jackpot winning. All the barriers that you've had ringfencing your life in for all that time crumble down and you can suddenly ditch your job to do anything you like for the rest of your life. Some people will completely change in that scenario and it's somewhat understandable. If you're in a couple, it's really going to bring out your true colors and show things that you might have been hiding or minimizing in all your time together.

This is a very serious issue but no problem is without solution. From the narrative they were not married and just were t the fiancee level. And because of the winning they want to split to their ways then I suggest 50/50 because one person provide the money and the other person use it to win the jackpot. Therefore everyone contributed to the winning of the money. But if that scenario was in African couple the person that use the money to win the jackpot would have taken all.
And because of all these things people are saying that "poverty is a dieses". If they're having money on their own they wouldn't fight because of $1,9 million. And since no of them have not seen such amount of money then everyone would like to take it and start new life. And to avoid dispute which has already happened they should divide it into two and let everyone go on their way.

Money... messes with people's brains, man.

        -   It's sad to think about, but what you say is true, mate. Money can change people's mood. Just like that couple who were able to sacrifice their relationship just because of money.
Does that mean they both got greedy? Well, I guess, yes, they both got really greedy.

Think about it: because of the money won, their relationship became useless and trash; not even one of them showed the importance of the relationship formed between their two partners. Right?
Both are greedy. Why? The woman tends to get the whole share or the said winnings and the man would really be tending to get some share too just because he's the one who bought the ticket, but it is on that womans money which been used. If we do talk about legal aspects then the woman does have the full rights of the said winning because its her money been used but talking about ethical approach on which both
shouldnt really be ending up on something like this because money isnt something that worth to have that kind of decisions to be made. They might be new in dating but doesnt mean that they are separating
because of the money that had been won. They are really just that too greedy both because they had ended up on the same situation or approach on which this do really shows that money
is the most important thing in life.

I know a case similar to the one discussed here, but they won a Play Station, not the jackpot.

The young couple won the console like a week and a half after the man had spent all his little savings to buy an identical one for him. So after winning the new one, he wanted to sell it and share 50/50 with his girlfriend, because this way he'd recover part of the savings he'd spent and she would also win some money. But the girlfriend argued that he already had a new Play Station, and the fairest solution was that she kept the PS so they'd have one console each.

In the end they sold it and shared the money, but a few months later she left him, among other things, because "he was so selfish..." Roll Eyes

What do you think about this case? was the act of selling the PS and sharing the money fair, or miserable?

There are people who believe that money is evil and can transform people, but I believe it is the opposite, money is a simple means that amplifies what people already are. If someone is selfish and greedy, give them money and they will become even more so.

Reading the story I get to shake my head in utter disgust how this people were referred to as couples because from all indication with the whole saga playing out from the moment the money was won it entails that they were just friends with benefits, nothing of the attributes of loving couples can be associated to their behavior here.

This is a case they can both solve amicably without needing the intervention of the court on the matter but if it goes that way a lawyer somewhere will go hungry  out of a law suit despite who's in the favourite wing of winning the case. So my sure guess is that there could be some lawyer behind the story that are instigating the matter to get to court. Else, why can't they just split it 50/50 or 60/40 as they have earlier agreed. Why the later change of mind.

But I believe that it was not only the money that caused their breakups, probably for another reason that only happens after winning the jackpot prize. Maybe if they had never won that prize, they'd be still together. But unfortunately, some things never work with money alone especially when our problem does not involve with money. Like if we need time together, money can't solve it or maybe, after the couple wins the jackpot prize, one of them becomes too addicted to gambling and spares no time with the family which is probably the main issue.

Money... messes with people's brains, man.

Money is everything, it might not be true all the time but this one is always been the standard and this is something that could changed up someones mind instantly and this is really that reality.
This isnt really jus that limited to gambling but also in other situations in life as well on which it would really be that something that pertain about greed on which someone could really changed up on point
as long they could really be able to get that kind of benefit or a life changing situation or simply talking about money then they would really be having those on point or drastic changes on which
you cant even believe into your own eyes but it do can actually happen in real life and example such as this.

We do know that when it comes to money then everyone could really changed  up as long they could really be able to experience that lavish life due to lots of money
that they havent been able to experience into their lives ever. Even if it means that leaving that you do love is something that you would definitely do for the sake of money.

That's normal thing happens to many people. When they can gets much money from any where and that's a free money, they will changed and will not thinks hard like before. They can do whatever they wants and buy many things they wants because they now have that much money We never knows what's their real reason but if they thinks that better decision for them, we can only let them do that. After all, they knows what they doing and the risks behind their decision so they will not bother if they separate. Maybe money can solve their lives matter but we don't knows exactly what inside of their relationship so we can only see from the outside. We can hope they will be fine after they separate and can lives better because they now have much money have a better life.

They have changed because they let it happen but yeah, that is a very usual thing to expect from a person who wins a big amount of money.

I suspect that there is no love between these two friends. You will always like to be with someone you love with or without money. And splitting the money with someone you cherish shouldn't be a problem because you want the person's happiness and comfort. However, this is a clear story of how money can change people overnight. From the picture, we could see them enjoying themselves as lovebirds but money changed everything. The problem is that the woman is not willing to give his ex-boyfriend anything which might be why the man is angry and is considering taking legal action.

His only blunder.was that he didn't transfer the money to his ex on time and I suspect he had no intention of doing that and only sent the money when he saw that she had won the jackpot. The lady might see this action as deceptive and therefore want to get rid of him. I will advise the man to move on with his life since the law recognizes only one winner and the person whose name is on the back of the ticket. This is not the end of the world. As long as there is life, there is always hope.

Quote
A couple, who had been dating for a mere three months before they won an eye-watering $1.9 million dollars, split soon after.

Source: https://www.news.com.au/finance/money/wealth/lotto-war-i-won-19million-lotto-with-my-girlfriend-then-she-dumped-me-out-of-the-blue/news-story/c1f568efd16ff7f0aa0efe72652cabe5

It’s a tough situation, but I agree with the idea of splitting the prize 50/50. It seems like the fairest approach, helping to avoid further tension and potentially bitter disputes that could drag on and cause emotional stress for both parties.

In a situation like this, clinging to an ego battle doesn’t help anyone. It’s important to stay calm and approach the situation with fairness. The goal should be to resolve the matter in a way that respects both individuals’ contributions and feelings, regardless of the relationship’s current status. Getting entangled in a prolonged conflict over money can sour memories of what could have been a joyful moment together and lead to unnecessary stress and animosity.

If I were in this situation, my priority would be to have an open and honest conversation about how to split the winnings. It’s crucial to approach such discussions with empathy, understanding, and a willingness to listen, rather than just asserting one’s own desires. Legal advice might also be valuable to ensure that the agreement is fair and binding, preventing future disputes.

After that win they will split because they don't have the true love in Their heart and also the reason what they split is that they don't contented on what they have right know. As we all know that once you are contented and you have a true love on your partner then in the better time and worst time you will be together no matter what happen. And that is a bad thing once you are interning in a relationship you need to be matured enough so that you can't break someone's heart. But that is Their decision they are playing in gambling won so it's up to them how they handle Their situation.

We do know that when it comes to money then everyone could really changed  up as long they could really be able to experience that lavish life due to lots of money
that they havent been able to experience into their lives ever. Even if it means that leaving that you do love is something that you would definitely do for the sake of money.
Anything related to money is always sensitive, it doesn't only apply to couples, but also families can fight just because of money, that's why we need a commitment not to share money with anyone, even if it's someone closest to us, like this, we shouldn't gamble with our partner. We should at least separate the money from our money so that undesirable things don't happen, let alone winning the Jackpot and then with a large amount of money, the two end up being separated because of that money.

Everyone will never be free from greedy behavior, therefore if they don't have a commitment it will be difficult to control it. Many couples have problems just because they didn't commit from the start that whatever income they generate together must be shared fairly, but sometimes they won't accept the results. correctly, after all, gambling doesn't have to be with our partner, just focus on the gambling we are playing, don't invite anyone to join in betting on the bets we are playing because it will be troublesome if you win the jackpot but there is other people's money there, obviously it will be difficult to share it and it will definitely happen Prolonged conflict if it happens, gamble for yourself better and use your own money the most correct thing
